In the early 80's I learned Opticianry from a guy named Charles Neils in Port Hueneme, CA. He was a radioman on board a US Navy Destroyer involved with the bombardment of Iwo Jima. He spoke to me about life on board ship and also about how Slim Whitman's tunes helped the crew to manage their emotional trauma and how Mae West was the biggest Sex Symbol there ever was!! God Bless you Charlie and all that you stood Tall for!!
