Im so old, I was there before the yellow foot prints. 1962 plt 308. So proud.
Semper Fidelis
Crazy to think some of these recruits are 2 years from being able to retire
I think my 3d phase was top right of that barracks.
Drill is where we learned our discipline
This is really cool idea for a podcast. Glad to see other vets in the tech industry!
@@msolomonbush many thanks! How’d you discover us?
Been There, Did That! 1962. One of the best decisions I ever made. Semper Fi to all my Marine brother's and sisters RAH
Spent a lot of time on the grinder learning to march at at San Diego in 1962 platoon 308. At 81 yrs old I actually miss it . The Corps did a lot for me. Did well in life and attribute the Corps for most of my success. Semper Fi to all my brother's and sisters in the Marine Corps before and after. What a Family!
@@jackbriggs7411 Semper Fidelis Marine
Mike is a great and smart Marine Maj General. The Marine Corps was fortunate to have him for that long.
2012 freshman in highschool first and only time being in Cali to see my brother graduate. Family day, out in front of the theater overcast dreary day, I look over and see 3 waving flags and the DI calling cadence as a sun ray breaks through directly in front of them. I remember it vividly, that melody is seared into my brain.
Nice podcast
@@tonyliu5147 thank you!!
1st phase nastys
The ads ruined a perfectly acceptable cadence drill vid

Was she able to recover completely?
Omg why can I feel his hot breath through the speaker
Don’t lose yourself along the way , it’s just as powerful and worthwhile all the same. So many people make this mistake, I tell you what.
Well done !
Was going to be 8152, but they discovered something with my back at MEPS. I aced the ASVAB, but the physical got me DQ’ed. Semper Fi to all that made it! 🫡
Damn, that was our house. We were up on the 3rd deck on the left side
Armymen are funny !
Why the hell does this only have 400 likes
No such thing as a ex marine
Growing those Poo-tatoes!
The cameraman needs some bearings. Semper Fi Sgt.
A good way to think about it is that for someone growing up on Ceres in The Expanse (which has constant centrifugal gravity of 0.3g), moving to Earth would subject them to 3.333 times the normal gravity that their bodies are adapted to. Imagine carrying a backpack that weighs twice as much as you do and imagine trying to even stand up. That's why Earth gravity crushes belters. It has nothing to do with air pressure, which would be reasonably similar between Earth and Ceres since human biology itself is adapted for a certain amount of oxygen. Otherwise earthers would suffocate on Ceres as there wouldn't be enough air to breathe.
@codeconnector7529 👀
I would love go just for a visit, chill out and reminisce. Are vets and civilians allowed to tour the place?
I believe so, especially around the grinder, but just not in the restricted training areas
A comet crashing to earth is crazy? You need to read more. It's been happening for billions of years...
Yeah dude, like send humans away farther away from earth and stuff, totally dude, NOT!
Would be good insurance, no?
I could have had them arrested for Disorderly Conduct but have only just thought of that now.
I'd steal Pez, just like I did back home--in fact, being busted for Pez was why the judge ordered me to join the Suck (I didn't have cargo pockets).
Yellow footprints, 02 Oct 1972
Crazy how if any of these rcts are still in they're about to be eligible for military retirement
I'll bet the drops in this video tried applying for a job at that store, got turned down there, too, so lived in an unserviceable shelter-half down by Ribbon Creek.
$50/hr for "volunteer work"...umm...no

Dont donate your money to charity 😂

These are ASMR videos i can fall asleep to.
Yellow footprints October 3rd, 1972.
20 years ago I graduated from boot camp. 20 YEARS! Wow time flies so fast.
I wonder if they still use chits - that's right chits as the method of payment?
The last time I voted I used a chit.
Where did you get all this footage?
I recorded them when I was a poolee back in 2006-2007
Anyone else remember being in the middle of the O course back by the airport and COMPLETELY STOPPING to run to the PX to put on the HALF DICKIE DRESS BLUE for your 1st photo!?!?!?
Drill instructors are just militarized gym coaches.
At some point at boot I realized they can't eat me. It was all better then. They fus a lot. They like to yell. But they can't eat me.
Raaahhh ?????
