Highest I've Jumped since 2019!

My bounce is coming back! This is the highest I've jumped since 2019 when I was 47. Definitely should have gone for a 2 hander on that first attempt. Would have had it easily! I'm getting stronger, leaner, and more explosive. I am going to land dunks I've never done before very soon! This is ridiculous even pre teen boys could dunk better than this lol
Amaaaziiing❤
YO I just turned 40, i thought my basketball life was over. This has definitely resurrected my motivation!!!!!!!! LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!
Love it man! Go get it!
Good video. I noticed that too a while back. Nfl cornerbacks and wrs on average actually have higher standing verticals than nba players bc of the combination of weights and plyomtetrics. On a random google search i saw matt leinart had standing vert of 37 which is more than d rose..rn mine is 25 goal is 40 in my 40s
you’re inspiring mate
Thanks man!
Wow impressive 👏🏽
This serves as an inspiration, I'm 5'7 at 45 years old this year working towards my first dunk hopefully in a couple of years.
You can do it!!! Go get it!
Any below 190 cms?
Do you know what your max vertical is Andy?
I'm 5.6" and 33 years old... currently on 5th week of vert training for 5 months... Othe can dunk, so I believe I can do it
Awesome man! Go get it! How close are you right now to dunking?
just one hand 3 inches touching rim no grab yet...
@@noelromaguerra57 that’s very good! Keep going!
10 years hooper, 17,3 inches (44 cm)
how many inches would that be?
My SVJ is 21", so lvl 2-3. Since I'm 44 years old, 5.8", and do light training once a week, I'm pretty happy with that.
I remember doing this as a teenager. Why not just lay it up?
Why lay it up if you can dunk?
How tall are you?
5’11.25”
@@thedunkcamp impressive 🔥🔥🔥
@@jbstuff4472 thank you!
@@thedunkcamp you’re welcome
I just turned 51 years old, and I’m a workout fanatic at the gym. I’m thinking about implementing a very specific workout regiment so I can dunk in about six months. I’m 6’1”1/2” so wish me luck! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awesome man! Go get it! Let me know how it goes!
Age? What age started to train vert jump?
I think he’s 20. Not sure when he started but the younger the better! Jump and run and play lots of sports when you’re growing up!
@@thedunkcamp 👍🏻
Hope i see 52 and still can dunk🔥I'm 38
You can do it!
How tall are you?
5'11.25"
In your earlier years were you able to dunk?
i dunked a few times in college and in my 20's but it was never easy and only on a perfect day usually after losing a game and had tons of adrenaline. Had midlife crisis at age 39 to dunk again and started training. Been able to dunk off and on since then. That was 13 years ago. Tons of videos on my channel if you want to see where I started at age 39.
You move like a man several decades younger 💯
Thank you!
AIDOL
65 and I jammed last Friday at Ceraland gym and had like 8 witnesses. Lol🏀🏀
Keep it up Andy! Will be a 60 year old dunker!
man that would be crazy! Want to make it to 55 first! I'll worry about 60 later! :)
52 🙌💪
How tall are you?

Damn I wish
you wish for what?
Bro! sadly lost my dunks about 2 years ago after becoming a new dad. Turning 40 this summer. Trying to get it back. Thanks for the inspiration.
What does your training look like now andy? I hear isometrics are very beneficial for tendon health as we age. How many days a week are you jumping and strength training? Do you incorporate weekly sprinting too?
Yes isometrics are game changing! I have been using them much more to help with my knees and Achilles as well. I get some jumpers knee and Achilles tendinitis flare up’s and can get it back under control with isometrics. My current training schedule is: Monday: sprint and jump (and I usually play hoops too) Tuesday: upper body Wednesday: legs Thursday: upper body Friday: sprint and jump Saturday: legs (and I usually play hoops too) Sunday: rest
@@thedunkcamp thank you for getting back so damn quick andy!! You’re truly and inspiration, keep up the hard work, I love that schedule too
@@jfitness432 thanks man! I appreciate it!
Great stuff Andy, you truly love to hoop! Wish you the best! By the way: beautiful mountains in the background, amazing court!
Thanks man! Yes this court is so nice. Opened during the pandemic and was my favorite place to be!
@@thedunkcamp Where is the court? Tomorrow before work starts, I will go to the playground workin' on my game. Basketball is always there and I love regular guys doing their thing with the basketball. Greetings from Freiburg, Germany.
@@twobeer3945 Utah! Enjoy your time on the court!
@@thedunkcamp Thank you, I will! You inspired me and gave me fire. First bucket is for you. All the best!
Flush off the backboard at 51 is insane
priceless 😂😂💓💓
it IS impressive but i find lowered rims to be a cop out.... 10' high rims should be as mandatory as the size of the court or FT line.... or if general consensus deems that 10' is too high for most people they should change it universally.... not just have a "close enough is good enough" approach from the gyms etc.
Do you know how rare it is to find a 10’ rim? I’ve measured hundreds of rims over the last several years and I would say about 10% of the rims are 10’ or within a 1/4”. Measure the rims at your gym next time you play and you will likely be surprised. Notice which hoop people are dunking on and I bet you it’s a little low.
@@thedunkcamp Yes i know this, i'm not saying your dunking is a cop out but i think places NOT putting them at 10' is a cop out.... if 9'10" why not just lower it to 9' so anyone can dunk it? i could dunk a 9'10" rim when i was a teenager but never an actual 10' rim
@@DrWeird-zw5dc gyms aren’t doing this on purpose. It’s just very difficult to get a rim to be exactly 10’ especially the ones that lower from the ceiling. There are so many moving parts that all it takes is something to shift or move slightly and throws everything off. No gym is intentionally making a rim 9’10”
@@thedunkcamp Are you sure about that? I haven't been going to any courts for many years now but when i was younger i also noticed that a lot of rims are a few inches short of 10', but it wasn't due to any kind of 'slack', it was just how they were put up. It couldn't move more than a few mm without being damaged
@@DrWeird-zw5dc LA Fitness is well known for having rims that are a few inches low. But they also sometimes have rims that are higher than 10’. I think it’s due to mistakes made in the installation including not accounting for the flooring but I guess I don’t know for sure. It just makes more sense to me that it is due to errors and not intentional. Lower rims mean more dunks and rims having to be replaced sooner which no gym wants. I don’t think they are doing it on purpose so more guys can dunk.
Sir that is awesome. This is my goal. I want to keep dunking and play with my future kids. How did you maintain?
That’s a great goal! Just got to keep putting in the work! Consistency wins!
Great stuff
42 here gonna try and dunk again after around 17 years
Go get it!
What are your thoughts on water plyometrics? I do jumps in knee to chest deep water at the pool for reduced impact & the resistance from water.
I think those are a great accessory exercise but ultimately you have to do the real thing on a regular basis but definitely a great option for someone who has knee pain or recovering from injuries, etc
@@thedunkcamp Thanks for the feedback
@@roberttoth9962 you’re welcome! Hope your training is going well!
@@thedunkcamp It's a work in progress. I can power clean 95kg but I also weigh around 105kg so need to get bit more lean. I do 1 strength workout a week with 3-5 reps on deadlift, front& back squat, press& pull, 1 workout with cleans, box jumps & kettlebells, 1 of HIIT cardio kickboxing focused, I also swim a little& play sport

Yep 👍 But remember it’s only 2 points..🏀🏀
This was no points. In between pick up games!
The rim is lowered 1/2 inch.
This rim is 9’10” and wasn’t “lowered”. Very few rims are actually 10’.
Nice 👍 I will try to dunk on my 65 th birthday on February 20th . I will do a vid be sure to give me a holler 🏀🏀
Good luck!!!
