In Free Flight - With the Gulls of Trelleborg.
In free flight is a short uncut study of the Swedish Herring Gull flock in flight. This is a bird colony in the western end of Trelleborg, Ståstorp.
Effortless flight - An important property of a wing is the aspect ratio i.e. the length of the wing in relation to the width. A high aspect ration means a long and narrow wing. Seagulls have a high aspect ratio, so they are more able to glide like a sailplane.
The large species of gulls take up to four years to attain full adult plumage, but two years is typical for small gulls. Large white-headed gulls are typically long-lived birds, with a maximum age of 49 years recorded for the herring gull.
Gulls are monogamous and colonial breeders that display mate fidelity that usually lasts for the life of the pair.
Music: "Adventure" from Artlist.
Filmed with DJI Mini 3 Pro.

I was wondering. Is it allowed to take the salmon home to eat it?

Hi and thank you for commenting. Yes it is allowed to bring salmon home to eat it. I have tried the freshly run salmon my self, and it tastes good. But there are concerns with fatty fish from the Baltic Sea which accumulates dioxins and PCBs. Salmon being a top predator feeding on other fatty fish and getting to grow several years old will accumulate the most. Dioxins (polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are persistent environmental pollutants that are found at relatively high concentrations in fish [1]. Fatty Baltic fish (such as Baltic herring, salmon, trout and lamprey) biomagnify dioxins and PCBs in the food chain. (Health effects of nutrients and environmental pollutants in Baltic herring and salmon: a quantitative benefit-risk assessment. Jouni T. Tuomisto, Arja Asikainen, Päivi Meriläinen & Päivi Haapasaari Jan 2020.) Well, to summerize, I believe you would be safe to try the salmon in moderation :) Best regards John.

@@johnr.r.pickens Great answer. Awesome and appreciated :). As for the moderation, I am probably forced to that anyway since it is my first ever fly fishing attempt :) We are staying in Urshult. Can you perhaps recommend the nearest best spot on the Mörrum river or am I limited to certain areas (pools) if I purchase a day pass? We will be visiting the area around the end of July btw, hope it is even allowed to fish there by then. Worse case I will buy a fresh fish so I can filet that one with my kids for educational purposes :).

There are many inspiring stories about novice flyfishermen catching huge salmon on their first try. As long as the fly is in the river anything can and will happen :D When it comes to fishing spots, you would be fishing south of Fridafors. When buying a day pass you can consult the personel at the Kronolaxfiske office what stretch or which pools to choose. My recommendation is to visit the classic pools of the river from pool 1-32. Just for the sake of it. These are all included in the day pass. It is nice to have these pools as a reference when talking to other fishermen in the future. Pools 1-16 (south of the town of Mörrum) are more park like and pool 17-32 (north of the town) are more wild. These are also the most beautiful, especially pool 32 at Rosendala. July can be rewarding, but you have to keep a close eye on the water temperature and the weather forecast. Ideally you want the water temperature to be below 18°C. But even if the temperature rises above 20°C, you could very well be rewarded if there is a sudden change in weather and you have heavy rain. By July the river should be holding a lot of salmon and some freshly run seatrout as well.

Bra film som, som mange andre fiskefilmer blir ødelagt av musikk i steden for naturlig bakgrunnstøy.
