Crazy! We were going to have Sensei Cody wear the same fit, but he ended up being too aerodynamic so we had to stick to a normal uniform to give him better control over his incredible velocity and swag
How many times in a real fight would you be thankful to be able to stop and do a backflip or do a sort of one-hand cartwheel rather than striking, countering, or running away? only in a cartoon, a real life threaten situation of violence is nothing to take lightly , it is very serious , with fatal consequences,, it is very stressful , and the guy doing backflip obviously demonstrates NO ability in the context of: Self-Defense Close Quarter Hand to Hand Combat.
You're so right thank you so much, we will definitely work on these things and become the best pokemon trainer of all Kenneth!
âYou may train for a long time, but if you merely move your hands and feet and jump up and down like a puppet, learning karate is not very different from learning a dance. You will never have reached the heart of the matter; you will have failed to grasp the quintessence of karate-do.â - Gichin Funakoshi âKarate is Budo and if Budo is removed from Karate it is nothing more than sport karate, show karate, or even fashion karate-the idea of training merely to be fashionable.â - Mas Oyama Budo, Bugei , Bujutsu should be dignified , not Bastardized âTrain the body and develop stamina and endurance. But the spirit of competition and power that presides over them is not good, it reflects a distorted vision of life. The root of the martial arts is not there.â - TaĂŻsen Deshimaru Sports are only amusement ,,,, in the spirt of Zen and Budo everyday life becomes the contest,,,,There must be awareness at every moment-That is the place for mastery of the Selfâ Taisen Deshimaru âWe take refuge in pride because we are afraid to tell the truth to ourselves.â â Kakuzo Okakura The machinery of competition imposes the monotony of fashion instead of the variety of life. The cheap is worshiped in place of the beautiful, while the rush and struggle of modern existence give no opportunity for the leisure for the crystallization of ideals. WAAAAAHHHH Im trying to train kicks a lot right now and i cant afford an actual class so im mostly self taught so TYYYY I love the short and easy to understand tutorials instead of the long ones that take so long to explain stuff you forget what they said before, its like being in an actual class
of course!
seems worth mentioning the hop and arm swing motion at 0:03 that helps build momentum for the actual kick
Those who neglect to state the source of things are plagiarizing. Butterfly kicks are practical. Explaining how avionics works to a neanderthal is impossible. The true and real traditional martial arts are inclusive adaptive and effective. Vote blue and state the source.
bro many people can't accept the fact that many martial arts aren't just about punching or kicking, there are a lot of people who like to train martial arts for aesthetics, looks, or even fitness, which is completely fine.
The most normal comment here.
What actual use is it though? I dont remember seeing many UFC butterfly kick knock outs
If you're looking for UFC techniques you're on the wrong channel. I think of martial arts as a men's ballet. Even if it doesn't work, it's fun to do, looks cool and keeps you active.
Training technique for aesthetic, check it out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_kick
It's kicking with flair, half way through and someone punches you in the head, to far to travel just my opinion
Tricking isn't for combat sports, it's for fun and TV.
Understood! Just a performance technique, used in an art called wushu. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_kick
Does this have a practical application, or is it more just aesthetic form?
Movies and television
@@VictorIsSaved I figured. Looks alright, but my thought was that it leaves a lot of openings and takes a lot of room and time.
Wushu technique, look it up :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_kick
â@amerikickprinceton Again, a demo of a practical use in sparring or even better an MMA match or ever used in real combat... please
Thank you very much this helped me!
Congrats!! Hard work paying off
That is my boy â€

This is just gymnastics and dancing, thatâs it. . Question, where are the Military skills? Think about it; all you really need is a gymnast to put on a Karategi and a Black Belt, and pretend to execute something that resembles punches, kicks & blocks, and then just jump around the stage, and you would have what this individual is doing in the video. Seriously he never demonstrated a Tsuki-waza, Uke -waza, or Keri-waza. One of the many problems with these âOpen tournamentsâ there is no cognition of standards of proper/correct techniques. I have observed, video after video , a total lack of â Body Dynamics â , âEfficiency of movementâ , . There is no Kime, no Zashin, no Koshi-Waza, no Kamae , no concept of Ikken Hissatsu, Sorry there is no evidence in the video of an efficient Tsuki not once is there a Gyaku-zuki or a Oi-zuki . The routine seen on the video above is absent of all the fundamental elements of Authentic Kata. Power can be concentrated only when the hips, chest, shoulders, arms, wrist and fist are firmly linked and all necessary muscles function fully. Power starts from the ground up, which is why a strong Kamae is relevant. This is simply gymnastics and is based on Cosplay fantasies of the childrenâs TV show âPower Rangersâ for individuals who have no concept or cognition of Authentic Fighting Disciplines. Will he be able to perform these gymnastics when he is 45 years old or older?
Spoken like someone who couldn't or can't do a fraction of these moves. For someone who has so much to say, why bother watching the videos? Lol i forgot, we live in an age where keyboard warriors is an apparent martial art. Things are really simple in life, if you don't like something you don't have to watch. This is karate, you don't like it, then don't watch.
It is about Truthful, Integrity, Reality, Correct information 1. Why would I waste my time on backflips and summersaults ? at the age of 65, I train every day with Classical Okinawan Kata , Kihon, hitting the heavy bag and the makiwara , weight lifting , not on childish pursuits. 2. How does gymnastics relate toâ Hand to Hand -close quarter combat ,self-defense â skills? The moral question to ask is, what happens to these young people if they find themselves in a potentially violent situation and instead of walking away or contacting Law enforcement , they get involved and become seriously hurt because they have no training in authentic self-defense ? How many times in a real fight would you be thankful to be able to stop and do a backflip or do a sort of one-hand cartwheel rather than striking, countering, or running away? only in a cartoon, a real life threaten situation of violence is nothing to take lightly , it is very serious , with fatal consequences,, it is very stressful , and the guy doing backflip obviously demonstrates NO ability in the context of: Self-Defense Close Quarter Hand to Hand Combat. 3. What this individual is doing is Not Karatedo. It has no historical connection to Okinawa . If you believe it is Karate, then which linage from Okinawan is it derived from, Shuri-Te, Naha-Te, Tomari-Te ? 4. Kata (ćœą) is a Japanese word and in a Budo/historical/emetology understanding means literally "shape", â Patternâ or "model." Kata is a formalized sequence of movements which represent various offensive and defensive postures. Kata is a series of Offense and Defensive movements with precise, âefficient body/bio- mechanicsâ to teach the individual how to engage in close-quarter â hand to hand combatâ with a weapon or without a weapon. Power can be concentrated only when the hips, chest , shoulders ,arms ,wrist and fist are firmly linked and all necessary muscles function fully. Power starts from the ground up, which is why a strong Kamae is relevant. 6. Sorry there is no evidence in the video of an efficient Tsuki not once is there a Gyaku-zuki or a Oi-zuki . The routine seen on the video above is absent of all the fundamental elements of Authentic Kata , because it is lacking Kime, no Zashin, no Koshi-Waza, no Kamae, no concept of Ikken Hissatsu, no body Dynamics . Power can be concentrated only when the hips, chest , shoulders ,arms ,wrist and fist are firmly linked and all necessary muscles function fully. Power starts from the ground up, which is why a strong Kamae is relevant. 7. The problem many people have with XMA is that it isn't martial arts in any remote sense. Outside of these competitions, XMA performances are regularly used as advertising for McDojos that endanger their students with low-quality "self-defense" techniques. XMA is another component of the McDojo marketing apparatus that is only allowed be considered martial arts by a general public that has been so thoroughly conned by that apparatus that they are convinced anybody swinging around something in a Karategi is a legitimate source of martial knowledge. True Budo is a Way of confronting oneself When we decide to follow the Way of Budo, we accept its discipline. The practice of this discipline is called shugyo. Shugyo is very hard. There is no place for any nonsense. Budo: æŠé In traditional arts, we do not compete with others but ourselves, it is beneficial to our mind and body. @@jayunderwood5042
