I think the phrase is oh my giddy aunt!! 😃. That Toboggan ride was epic. Might just try one of those Chris. Gorgeous little Church😍. We will watch out for German coach drivers! 😃 We’re staying at Fussen. Did you phone in advance mate? Another great vlog Chris. Lovin the drone footage.
Highley recommend any of those toboggan rides, great fun, although Rachel chickened out haha. re. Fussen, no we just turned up as we were before the school hols and there are three stellplatz there. I think you can reserve as some spaces had cones on.
Love the roads , but the toboggan is even better
@@davidweston8758 always wanted to do that!
Like this layout of van , prefer the kon tiki range though , mind thats not a bad price , especially as an auto , what makes it an extra though , over normal 🤔
@@davidweston8758 I think the extra is due to the things like Alde central heating system, external BBQ point and external shower being included as standard and only from Lowdhams.
What sort of range are you getting ?
@@chrisall1261 never really considered this as I'm only using it for short trips from a campsite to the shops or chippy... Sorry
This was brilliant Chris. Great vlog and fascinating places. And what a journey. You seem to have overcome some real bad luck on this trip mate. Closed roads, closed Stellplatzes, floods the lot. But this has been great for us - in four wells we will be travelling these roads and it gives us so much confidence that we will be fine - two back up park ups noted! Paper maps arrived today 👍👍 Some wonderful drone footage too and that waterfall was spectacular! Again great vlog - has really helped us 👍👍👍
Thanks guys, you're going to love it! At no point did we feel in real danger so it's all part of the adventure. Will be watching your Vlog with interests, particularly as you're going further into Austia... great country. Our Vlog, excitement of a different kind :)

Love it Chris. What a beautiful CL. I don’t think we’ve been on one that isn’t yet! Gosh the shortwave transmitters are massive! I would t be flying a drone 😃 How cool to get to the Elbow gig and bet you were as proud as punch to see your ex student. What a talent! Love folk so will check out Katherine Priddy. 👍 Have a great weekend guys.
Cheers, yes, very proud, I've included a link to her website in the description. Hope you've got your windscreen sorted, what a pain.
Great stuff Chris. We’re heading to Salzburg in September. (Well for a day trip anyway) so this was fascinating. Nice to get there before the crowds and good that you know the area 🤣🤣 when Rachel disappeared in the other direction! Did you charge for the photographs with the dogs? 😃😃 How cool was the singing on the steps 👏👏 We’re visiting with our family and our young grandsons will love Schloss Hellbrunn Shame about the almost constant rain you guys had. The Stellplatz looked a good one. We’re so looking forward to our trip!! Thanks for sharing this Chris and Rachel.
Depending on how much time you have, your grandsons would love this. 2nd only to the brilliant Salt Mine near Krakow. This one is about 20mins from Salzburg. www.salzwelten.at/de/salzburg

Enjoying the tour , but that weather wow , not sure about the waterproofs , but they look like they do a good job , we need to get out there more , instead of the useual places like France and Spain
Haha I can't believe we got those waterproofs for £5 and are so light. Could be the start of a new fashion!
Flippin eck. That weather Chris. Crazy. We’ve picked up some good tips. The water bags and the high level payment station on the toll booth. We’re thinking of Ulm as a stop off. From what you saw of the Stellplatz, reckon it’s worth it? Also going to Salzburg but in the rain from Zell am Zee where we’re staying The Dachau footage is sobering 😨 and must have been so difficult especially for Rachel.
Thanks both, yes would certainly recommend Ulm, I'd like to try that again in the future. The bags were very useful and compact. Since our return we've also purchased this (search amazon) - Draper DRA24960 Lock On Multi-Tap Connector, for those small connections. Salzburg will be up next week - simply the best city :) Google the Salzburg card.
@@GoWithGustav thanks Chris. Really helpful 👍👍
Hi another great video I'm enjoying following your adventure, A very sad ending we mustn't forget. Take care
@@bobmoulton3319 Many thanks Bob, glad to hear you're enjoying the vlogs. We pleased to see so many German school groups being shown around the camp.
These camping car parks are great places. You can leave your van while you walk town and feel its secure. Inexpensive too. Highly recommend. They are all over France.
@@RobertSmith-cv1cu love the way you can see the available spaces on the app too.
Great video but do away with the music it’s not needed
Thank you for your comment. I'm experimenting a little just to make it different. I think my next review only has the music at the start.
Shame about the weather but ClubFest was a great weekend 👍🏻 . Enjoyed majority of the shows but let’s not mention J. Donavon 🥴
Haha, he was such a disappointment!
Wow that was lucky , great vlog as always , do like the camping car park stops , seam relatively inexpensive, yet have facilities, enjoyed that one , a close call 😮
Thanks, David, yes, as a newbie the camping-car gives you some security at the fraction of the cost of campsites. I'm using a few more of them on our next trip. Also was worth paying extra so I could prebook my space.
Well that is literally crazy stuff!! Brilliant vid absolutely enthralling - obviously it wasn’t for you guys at the time! 😨😨. I remember you posting on the FB group. I have an itinery for September and that Camping Car Park is on it! If we do get there I will have to look out for mad drugged Audi drivers. So lucky the idiot didn’t hit you. You remained remarkably calm there mate. 👍 That little road you mistakenly drove along looks a lot worse than some of the Scottish roads 😃 I’ve just registered the drone for Europe but looking at the flight maps of where we’re headed, only a few miles where could use it 😃🤦🏻♂️ Can I just ask about the wifi data sim you use. We use Three and Vodafone sims in the phones and a Vodafone data only sim for the WiFi but wondered if you had bought a local one there as some do. Again, great vid Chris
Thanks for that, yes crazy at the time and in hindsight, it's easy to think I should have reacted differently; like pinching his keys etc. Still, no one was hurt. Just a pain as we had a long drive the next day and had to use toll roads to shorten the trip (next episode :) ). We're on Three too but was not going to pay the daily charges! I got a data sim from helloiq.co.uk/ with 100gig of data for a month. No contract, you just add more data for the next time you wish to use it. I put this in my phone so we could use google maps as our plans changed. Didn't use it all and even managed a video call back to England with it. You may have noticed the walkie-talkies we used for closeby communication in place of our phones. France seems very fussy about drones, We're going to the Loire in September but most Chateau have No Fly Zones.
@@GoWithGustav thanks Chris. Very useful - yes we’re thinking about getting walky talkies too. I know a few people have them - very useful for those sticky situations!
So you believe it’s ok for you to take up 4 spaces!
@@knownort4812 yes. It's an official overflow for motorhomes, not a car park
Interesting van Chris. Doesn’t seem to have any more space than the Adamo considering the extra 0.5m length? Like the smaller table - easier to manoeuvre around!
True, I can't see the gain in space inside. Extra length also going to cost more on ferries.
Like the basic layout , however the style of having the toilet open is odd , prefer the door to close off the toilet or the main bathroom , like the 794 or the new Coachman ts545 , nice of you to do the tour
Nice one Chris and Rachel. Were of across on the Tunnel next month. We’ve done it quite a few times but not in a Motorhome so it was interesting to see any differences. We’re not doing that Canterbury Aire. I think we will just drive down on the day. Safe travels guys.
Thanks, yes the aire was just a convenient location. I've just booked a CL near Dover for our next trip at the same price!
Nice to see how the arrival at the eurotunnel changes , not been over for a couple of years but always been the chosen route , not stopped at Canterbury yet , but looks a good place , keep up the good work
It would be great if they could keep it cleaner. The main reason I would go back is the pub food!
Good review Chris. We have a neighbour in storage who has one of these. The first thing that struck us is the space in the lounge - seemed much bigger than our 75-4T Very nice van 👍👍
Fascinating! Lovely to get a look around Clubfest. Looks a lot there Chris. That first segment - seemed like you were driving for miles to the pitch 😃 Great entertainment! And the band sounded great!
Nice one Chris. Very very similar to the Adamo Like you don’t like the toilet doors but do think Swift cupboards look and feel a bit more “robust” Otherwise very nice motorhome indeed. Safe travels mate.
Thanks, yes it was a close choice between the Adamo and Voyager. It was the length that put us off in the end as I only just fit Gustav in next to our house. The Voyager would have meant building new gates etc.
Hi guys enjoying your vlogs lets hope your subscriptions pick up too, 2 of our favourite dogs on board too. Starting to look for smaller more intimate sites ourselves now looking to trade up our old T4 with high roof for a smaller motorhome so we have a cassette toilet as we are age range 65-70 now. Thanks again and best wishes Rod and Jan x
@@rodneyperkins1057 glad you're enjoying the vlogs, it's nice to combine different hobbies to make them. Highly recommend the NEC shows if looking for a new van. Great way of seeing what's available
My favourite type of site , looks a nice area and not too far from us , that narrow junction 😮 , good luck on getting the subscriber numbers up
Certainly think we will be back. Thanks, numbers are creeping up :)
Nice one Chris. Learned a bit 😃 Like the automated dipped beam 😮. And the plugs in the shower I wonder where the fresh water tank access is? We have a bigger boot than that and like you an access into the bedroom But another interesting model of our van 👍👍👍
@@NBNatureTrailvan cheers, I think I thought the boot was big as mine has so much in haha. Automatic dipped beam, best thing since sliced bread 👌
Like that layout , its our prefered type , not so keen on the fixed table , but as its adjustable makes it possible , find Ford a good base vehicle, look forward to a few more of your reviews
Thanks David, I notice a few Adamo owners have taken the tables out. We have grown to like it now and it makes a good fixing point for the dogs when in transit. It seems most new motorhomes have these tables now.
Will catch up in the morning Chris. - babysitting the grandkids 😬
I've got so much to catch up on! These are just quick reviews of vans at Lowdhams. Got a number of Swift ones coming up too :)
That could have been alot worse being on a motorway and that happen , the site looks very clean and tidy , shows where the money goes
Frightening going under the van to unhook it while on the hard shoulder. Had Rachel watch the traffic as I did it. Yes, site very clean and a most friendly welcome.
This was captivating and absolutely fascinating Chris. Just top stuff!! I had absolutely no idea that the club had a band! It looks a wonderful group and a whole lot of fun. Oh and flippin good too 👍👍👍👏👏👏 And you do a great job mate - must be difficult at times - I’ve always imagined it’s a bit like herding cats being a conductor- but the ultimate reward when it hits the spot which this band does 👍👍👍 Oh, and those storage doors under the bed are a pain 😃😃
Many thanks for that, yes they are a super group of people. Love the herding cats idea lol. You're right!
I am in the everything sorted camp , have in the past organised European motorbike tours , like to have all bases covered and no different now , still leave room to make the odd change , should it crop up
I ignored the suggested route change it gave today thinking I knew better... Added 1/2 on to a 6 hour journey. Next time I'll trust it!
@@GoWithGustav yep , been there done that , definitely learnt the hard way lol
Enjoyed that one , done a fair few of those sites , staying at the same place at different times show how they can change and be different in their outlook , we do a fair few pub stops or small camp sites
Thanks, I need to try some pub stops, especially in the summer :)
What I love about watching you two is that you’re much braver than us on parking and roads - some of these places we would love to visit but would be put off by the possible parking restrictions. But as you say Summer may be totally different! Love Dunster and Woolacombe and some of those places now on our list. Port Isaac looks wonderful. Site reviews very useful 👍👍👍 And we’ve used Florrie every month too. Who needs a “season”!
Haha, not sure we're brave. I think driving the Outer Hebrides just after we got Gustav last July may have helped. As you know, the roads can be a challenge but after that, everywhere else seems much easier!
What a cracking site , not come across that one , just a quick question, why Gustav as the name , always curious 🤔 thanks for the vlog
Gustav, well that's a long answer and maybe I'll explain fully when we go on our summer tour through Germany. In short, it's a hommage to my late mother-in-law who was German but claimed to be British. Whereas everyone thinks Gustav Holst is German but was English.
@GoWithGustav makes sense , thanks for the answer 👍
Nice one guys. The Gorge is an awesome place to drive and interesting to see it in a Motorhome. What’s with the huge concrete blocks along the road there? Cool - love Wolf Hall. What a beautiful place Wells looks. Now on our list 👍 Wonderful drone footage! Safe travels guys.
Cheers, think the blocks are to control where people park. We'd not heard of Wolf Hall haha, now on our list of things to watch. Brilliant place to fly the drone, I could have stayed all day.
Love that area , stayed just outside Wells last year , could see Glastonbury Tor from wherever stayed , parked on the road and had a walk in , found the Cathedral and surrounding area interesting, great vlog as always 👍
Webbs is only 20 mins from us , its a bit pricey tbh , other places are better , you are not far from Hanbury Hall NT , not sure how good motorhome access is mind
I'm local too, used to teach in Bromsgrove :)
We were at Dunster, Easter weekend, couldn't move in the car park , we had a space on the edge of the roadway , we are slighlty longer than you so it was fun , on our way to exe valley campsite , will go to the beach next time we are that way , great vlog btw
Recently retired so lucky we can avoid main hols. Thanks for the comment. Time Dunster beach for the tide to be out, nice and sandy, great for the dogs. The tide was in this time so we actually didn't stay.
@GoWithGustav my wife is retired, I am not so lucky just yet , we were only away as it was my 60th , so wanted to get away
Nightmare Chris. I dread that happening to us. I won’t be getting the My route app 😃😃. We use the CAMC Garmin. It’s got us lost three times with numerous other mess ups which I realised before I went wrong. So a Tom Tom seems a good idea. Love that site with the honesty box. How cool. That’s why we stay in the club too 👍👍 Have a great weekend guys.
Just got a TomTom, best of both worlds for planning. Video coming on that :)
I just bought one,,, amazing bike, very fast love it great up hills
Still loving mine. So quick to put up as well
This was great Chris and Rachel. We’ve never visited Port Isaac and to be honest Cornwall seemed off limits now we have the van. But you’ve proved it can be done easily. And also that March isn’t at all crowded. Will definitely put this on the list! And Cornwall in general too. Great drone footage and a fascinating wander around the village. And so cool to visit Tingagel too - now that’s a special place. Great to see where there’s Motorhome parking 👍 All in all we really enjoyed this trip 👍👍
Many thanks for the comment. Didn't think the video was live. Must have scheduled the wrong six O'clock lol. Hope you liked my David Attenborough voice... It was early in the morning and I'm attempting to be as quite as possible :)

Nice one Chris and Rachel. That looks a very nice location. We've sort of avoided Cornwall so far as we were worried about the crowds, but looked fine. The EHU lead thing was the same as us in Suffolk. The EHU point was miles from the pitch. But luckily our dealer had given us a lead, and we bought one not knowing, so we have two 25M which was very lucky. The highest village in Cornwall looked absolutely freezing🥶🥶🥶🥶. But wonderful standing stones though Have a great weekend
Thanks, Rachel said I was developing a catchphrase..." I wouldn't like to do this in the summer!" March was a good time to avoid the crowds :)
Nice one Chris and Rachel. You’re braver than us with parking at places like that garden and in Sidmouth. Every time we go anywhere the parking is too small Looked a nice place. Did you park outside Sidmouth? We love the waving too!!! 😃 Loved the footage on Chesil Beach. Nice campsite near Exeter. Learned something about the LS sites. We do like the Camping and Caravaning sites 👍👍 See you next time 👍👍
Haha, thankfully Google Earth and Google Street View helped in this case.
We used Manor Road Long Stay Car Park which is 5 mins walk down to the town.
@@GoWithGustav ah ok 👍👍👍
Hello just wondering if you’re still enjoying the bike I’m looking at the same one to purchase for my camper van adventures, many thanks 😄
Hi, yes, I'd still recommend the bike. It's been out a few times on our last trip away..off to chip shop and the to get milk etc. Very easy to pack away and setup. I think I can do this in about 30seconds now! Only issue I had was the chain coming off when going into 8th gear. However, I now think this was me changing too quickly as it hasn't happened since. If you know Tintagel, I cycled up the very steep hill by the castle with no problem at all (future video). I notice it's come down in price again. thanks for watching.
