I lived in Guasti in the late 40s and up to 58. Yes we had a little grocery market, a post office, a school (1st-8th grade), and a church. We also had the vegetable man come by once a week selling vegetables. We also J C Penny's on wheels selling new clothes. Most of the Mexican labors lived on the south side of the tracks. No bathrooms or hot water in our living quarters, only public toilets and showers. But our parents didn't have pay rent or utilities, so when the people they had leave, most of them bought houses in Ontario or Cucamonga. It was ok living in Guasti because we didn't know any better. As an old man now, I tell my children about Guasti, and how I used to play in what is now the Ontario Airport, throw rocks at the trains. Also as a kid, I used to see and talk to the San Bernardino County Deputy Sheriff's patrolling the area.. Years later, after getting out of the Navy, I found myself in the same uniform patrolling Guasti with my still best friend.

I've lived in northwest Ontario for 20 years and never heard of this historic site until this morning. Unfortunate that I will now never get to visit it and experience the history. I hope the arsonist is caught.....and this is one of the best videos you've put together in a very long time.

I went there more than sixty five years ago. It seemed old then. Did the Sportsman's Club go up too? Scout Troop 1 used to meet there. Sponsored by the Ontario Rotary Club.

Jerry, thank you for always documenting and researching so much of our city's history. This was truly such a loss. Such a historical landmark. So many of us have played little league here and have lived our whole lives always seeing it. Please keep us posted on the investigation or any info as it comes. Thank you again.

Thank you for this. Last night our historical Baseball field was burnt down by homeless. The homeless have more rights than homeowners here. I'm so sick of it.

The city has plans expand Grove Street. Do you think this was on purpose?

I have been a resident of Upland for 45 years. This gem still stands at the park. Upland is a good place to live, but, unfortunately, the homeless element and criminals are changing the image of Upland. Things changed for the worse in Upland after the Rodney King incident.

I was so little when those mobies came out i need to watch them all over and see how they relate to life as it is today . I lige in chino now and used to live next to puente hills so this movie was always interesting i just dont remember it 🤔

I grew up here everyone would go to the liquor store on Friday Saturdays and drink beer in and around the winery great times
