Blue Boat and Blue ROV are a beautiful combo, but real solutions to the global scourge of ghost fishing gear needs systemic solutions. Unique-id tags, long-life acoustic pingers, self-disabling gear already exist and will become cheap once required and enforced (e.g. FAA recent drone remote id rule). Specifically for "pots" (wire cages), low tech fast oxidizing quick releases are trivial. side note: often easier to disable a pot than to raise it - I've opened the bungee doors of several half-buried ghost lobster traps in So Cal while freediving.
Amazing video, so much information, no bs, loved it.
Maximum operating depth ?
Cool application of ROVs. It would be fun to get involved somehow
Can it be run by raspberry pi5?
To control thrusters with a Raspberry Pi, we recommend a PWM Hat like the one from Adafruit: www.adafruit.com/product/2327. You can follow tutorials on controlling the servo motor, which should also work with the ESCs!
@@BlueRobotics I have raspberry pi5, can't I run it directly by connecting the motors to digital pins?
@@Hazar-bt6nf please reach out to our team at support@bluerobotics.com to continue this conversation!
It says it doesnt have bms on website. Any suggestions for battery management system? Also i want to make battery monitoring using raspberry pi.
Hi, we have a project and we need to program the thruster like Speed and time (different speed and different time segments), Can we do that? what are the options?
Hi @AmicoKuwait! That is doable using an Arduino. We have guides to help you get started on the Basic ESC product page!
too expensive for a little shit
Thanks for having me!
Anyone have any creative ideas on how to mount these to a chassis? Using pipe clamps maybe?
I want to know its communication protocol can you tell me?
The Fathom Tether is used in conjunction with the Fathom-X Tether Interface Boards, which provide a robust, high-speed, long-distance Ethernet connection over a single pair of wires.
What is the communication protocol
Hi, as mentioned below, the Fathom Tether is used in conjunction with the Fathom-X Tether Interface Boards, which provide a robust, high-speed, long-distance Ethernet connection over a single pair of wires.
Excellent addition! 👍👍 I love that there is now the option to have a waterproof box for DIY projects.
You can't be selling many at $320 for a HAT.
You are missing a better way: "spiral groove bearing"
Lol the Thruster T500 is an Australian designed and built Ultralight aircraft…. I guess your generation have lost the ability to have an imagination to create something new. 😂
great idea... but $320 for just the expansion board :) keep at Blue robotics, make it cheaper, and for non-blue applications, and maybe you could become the new standard architecture for bigger fpvs... ?
Can it be used with a T500 motor and a 6S battery?
Hi there - yes, absolutely!
@@BlueRobotics THX!!! Does reverse connection of the potentiometer line cause the motor to reverse to the CCW?
@@hobielim9797 Yes!
@@hobielim9797 The 3-pin connectors on the potentiometers are reversible, so if turning a knob runs the motors the wrong way, the connector can be reversed to correct the problem.
How to control only use ecs and servo controler
How does the locking cord works ?
Hi there, the tube and the flange each have a half-circle shape around the circumference that line up to form a circular channel. There's a slot that allows you to insert a plastic cord into that channel. The cord blocks the tube and flange from being separated. You can see this around 1:30.
I Have a question about values you passed in function map() Why did you pass ,0,1023,1100,1900 i mean why these values and is these values can be determine by brushless motor kv or by esc because if i have different motor and different esc how can i put a values are compitable with mine
Hi there! We used 0-1023 as the input range because that is the range measured by the potentiometer with the analogRead function. We used 1100-1900 as the output range because that is the signal range that the ESC accepts as a valid signal. These values should work for the vast majority of ESCs!
Ciao...!! La turbina quella tutta verde di AliExpress potrebbe funzionare per il mi kayak a 24v..??
how could i power this without a battery
I am working with a missionary group. We have a need to modify the location stored in the return to home function to a new location in the flight computer I was wondering if you know, if this can be done with your drone control card.
Thank you so much! This is the first tutorial that helped me :)
Until you need support, then submit an email and wait and wait and wait.
$320 for just a pcb with a bunch of connectors and gpio chip? are you serious? ) RPI PilotPi is only $100
who asked?
@@JoeSheisty-eh5jj have you bought?
@@SK-bl1lp lol yeah i have i was messing with ya but it is super reliable and a great upgrade from the pixhawk. The raspberry pi and the navigator are more organized and much more efficient. It was worth it for our underwater robot
can i used for AUV ?
Why is no level winder incorporated???
Hi Alan, level winders are awesome! We were doing our best to keep the cost low on this one and most of the time you're winding it by hand and it's easy enough to guide the tether with your other hand.
@@BlueRobotics thanks for the response!! Just recd my FIFISH and will un box tomorrow…!!! And put my engineering hat on!!!! Best for 2024 for you!!!!

Can they be used for a 10ft aluminum Jon boat? Boat weighs 80lbs with 325lbs payload. If yes please let me know. I was thinking maybe 4-6
Great demonstration and an essential ROV accessory.
impressive
I wander that this boat use rover firmware?
Yes! The BlueBoat uses ArduRover!
brilliant, Speilberg would be proud.

Awesome simplified explanation. First time using ESC, it does not say which wire is what. Your video helped me understand that and more. :)

Awesome! Definitely a new and big marvel of marine engineering. I'm curious, with the latest version of the heavily configured BlueROV2, how many gadgets/accessories (gripper, imaging sonar, etc.) can one Electronics Enclosure support?

Thank you so much for introducing this. At last, an affordable option!! Will surely try to integrate it in bracuduburi!
