Really learned a lot from this conversation! I am a baseball guy turning into a softball coach, and am trying to help our pitchers as much as I can. I have never understood how this is no pitch counts in youth softball. One thing I have been searching for this offseason is some structure around on ramping pitchers to help them get ready for the work load that is put on them during the season as well as post game recovery after pitching. Is there any materials out there to help?

2 questions regarding pitching. 1) do you feel the more traditional pitching of palm/fingers on top of the ball and “hello elbow” or palm up / elbow down internal rotation method. 2) pitching is hard. At what point (months, years, etc) would a parent/player decide that pitching isn’t for them if there is low accuracy and/or abnormally low velocity/spin.

This channel is criminally underrated.

I’m loving all the videos you’ve been putting out! I have a daughter finishing her last year of 18U playing on an extremely talented team this Summer. We just won the bid to this year’s Nationals in Cali. I have worked in sports television since 1992…work for ESPN, ABC, NBC, FOX, Amazon and many more. I’ve worked 8 Super Bowls, 7 World Series and 10 NBA Finals….I’m a slow mo operator and editor. I believe I could bring a unique look to cover the Alliance... I have made videos for my daughters teams since 12U for fun but have had many over the years ask if I could do something for their teams. I’ve always had the thought that I could do an incredible job of covering and producing a tournament recap video of the BIG National tournaments…a video like you see when teams win the Super Bowl, World Series or NBA finals…like “road to the championship”. I didn’t get to participate in the zoom call but one of my main questions for this age would be how much should a 10u team practice and how many games should they play a year? I really worry about burn out in kids at this age. I worry about it becoming a job to them.

Within the first minute of this video you have mentioned three legends of travel softball. My daughter play for Marty Tyson for three years when there were only the original two Corona Angels teams. She then played for Tony Rico and Don Minard for 4 years on the original and only Firecracker team at that time. Our family is blessed to know these three gentlemen and consider them to be friends. Anxious to hear the rest of this video and hopefully the many more to follow.

wow. you told your player she didnt have the guts? then your proud she played hurt? you are hurting your players psychologically. you need to listen to sue enquist speeches. what a shame it is what youre doing to young athletes. no wonder she didnt tell you. she has no trust in you. you should not be coaching kids.
