I knew you were going to love Blues. We NEED an extended live version asap with a tight horn section, a fiery guitarist and a trio of backup singers to help out on the chorus while she riffs and goes off. This is probably going to be my favorite Solar solo song until she finally covers the Diana Ross version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough. She explains on solarsido Empty is about the time she ruptured a disk in her back and was basically alone in the hospital recovering. She does point out in the that video that she has done a number of songs with Honey in the title, even shows a clip of each, this one is a person who who is extra sweet. This album forced me to finally make a separate playlist for Mamamoo Solo albums, since Wheein and moonbyuls new albums are also great. Really, if the sun went out today, I would not notice because Solar exists.

In her solarsido video she explains she wanted to do a folk song and based it on a new english phrase she heard, easy peasy lol and really shocking how cute she can be considering she is 33 years old. blues, my favorite song and just completely proves again why Solar is my favorite singer alive today. By the way you missed the mic drop at the end of Blues. I have seen some fan cams of her doing blues live, even on fan cams it is insane how good she is.

Solar proves again why she is my favorite singer. Colors has a performance video you must see. The best song on this album is Blues. Mamamoo always slay and deliver perfection. But I is insane for being rock, she has an entire video on Solarsido where she explains her album and the fact each song is a different genre. She also has her own reaction video to But I.

She really kills the BLUES. This song is phenomenal and her vocal really shines so much in this kind of music. But I also love easy peasy because it's so healing to hear it daily to ease our stress.

I love Empty so much. It was a song that she wrote when she was hospitalized for herniated disk in 2018, a very hectic year for MAMAMOO. She talked about the loneliness she felt and how it inspired her to write the song in her Talking Lyrics video in 2019 czcams.com/video/jCSAKqtXPSY/video.html. She also mentioned recently in a radio saying that it was a song produced based on the sensitivity she felt at the time when she watched busy cars on the streets in early morning at the hospital and wondered where they were going. There are actually 3 versions of Empty. The first draft version that she released 4 years ago on her birthday czcams.com/video/i60FkcbyLyQ/video.html in 2020 after first mentioned in the Talking Lyrics. The first full version revealed in her 2024 birthday fan meeting czcams.com/video/AB7s4-Zpe6s/video.html. The final studio version as we hear here from COLOURS album where she made it even more crazy, vocally and composingly speaking. It could easily be my favorite if Colors, But I, and Blue don't exist^^

I love the way Solar can freely switch between two extreme modes in 'But I' for her vocals, emotions, and acting both in the ballad and rock part. It's just so delicate that each part feels so unique and different that can be built up to an entire song in the same genre but she melts them all together with her crazily versatile vocal skills. Not to mention the shooting of the MV is so beautiful and all on location in Mongolia. The piano, the fire, the eagles and horse are all really. I think the only CG is the fire in the eagle's eye where Solar was from the fire like a phoenix. Besides, she also learn how to ride the horse there and filmed it herself. The only horse riding scene with a double is when she rode the horse running downhill because the slope was steep and quite dangerous.
