What a voice.
The album version of this song absolutely sucks compared to this!
Good sounding Canadian country song, loved this song for a years. Hats off to the Canadian singer
What a lovely voice and song ❤
As a Toronto man, I am scared. I just want that Canola seed.
This tune sure seems to resonate in today’s times.
an especially heartfelt interpretation of a wonderful tune
Love this dude
johny cash/johnny horton girl from saskatoon inspiration 'i met a little girl just a little south of hudsons bay"
Gotta learn this one!
I didn't make it as far as Saskatchewan in my trip to Canada earlier this month, but I had this and many other of his songs on my playlist while on long bus rides from Calgary to Alberta and back. Listening to his sage old man's voice while I looked out the window at the rolling prairies and cragged mountains really brought it home for me.
He should get more guitars just a thought
The real question is Why would you want to hurt me?
Why would you act like you didn’t even know me? I mean I understand that you finally got things right with your wife, and I applaud that. To be honest the WAY you moved in with me without even asking , just real sneaky like, “ do you mind if I bring enough clothes for a few days? before I even had a chance to move my deceased mother’s belongings out or the grief process that goes with each item/ memories tied to ‘em, etc, & THE TIMING with HER (your wife) made it impossible to respect you. But I was gonna let ALL of that go by the wayside bc my God it HAS BEEN 11 years, almost as long as… just shy a couple years. You could’ve just said Hi! And been cordial like a normal person would do. It’s not like you didn’t get everything you wanted from me; peace and time away, to sex (but only when YOU wanted it, and bicycling to atone for mistakes with the first son, to providing you a place to live when you supposedly needed it, but in reality chose it. Then wondered why I might’ve started getting anxiety attacks right before you’d come over. You’ve worked for MHMR. You put 2& 2 together. It’s because just like this evening you only do what’s convenient for Charles. And slid out without even so much as a Hi! How you doing?
Love this kid born rock and roll and will pass on that way but only Johnny Cash could make me Lean toward county until this young blood...
I just learned about him this evening 👍
If they were to remake O Brother Where Art Though, he should BE the soundtrack.
Mr. Toronto man, go away from my door You've got my wheat and canola seed, you're askin' me for more Better fly 'fore I produce my .44 I'm just a prairie boy, never meant none no harm Spent my days makin' wages out on the Martin's farm No eastern boys are gonna twist my arm It's so damn cold out here, the wind'll cut you half in two I ain't kiddin' now, my old plow is frozen to my mule I've been livin' off of ice-cold rainbow stew Don't be pickin' fights with no Mennonites Don't be raisin' cane while they're plantin' grain And workin' through the night Gonna let you know if you ain't actin' right So, Mr. Toronto man, go away from my door You've got my wheat and canola seed, you're askin' me for more Better fly 'fore I produce my .44 Better fly 'fore I produce my .44

Love this song, made me a fan of you ❤️
"produce my 44" Such an old country turn of phrase
LYRICS: (This one is called Saskatchewan, in 1881.) [That was a good year.] (It was a great year.) [One of the best years of Saskatchewan.] (Hook) Mister Toronto man Go away from my door You got my weed and canola seed You're asking me for more Better fly fore' I produce my 44'. (Verse 1) I'm just a prairie boy Never meant none no harm Spend my days making wages out on the Martin's farm No Eastern boy is gonna twist my arm. (Verse 2) It's so damn cold out here Wind’ll cut you half in two I ain't kiddin' now, my old plow Is frozen to my mule I been living off a’ ice cold rainbow stew. (Verse 3) Don't be pickin' fights With no Mennonites Don't be raisin' Cain While they're planting grain And working through the night They're gonna let you know if you ain't acting right. (Hook) Mister Toronto man Go away from my door Got my weed and Canola seed You're asking me for more Better fly fore' I produce my 44' Better fly fore' I produce my 44'.
I think it’s wheat not weed but I’ve always said weed cos I prefer it lol
My favorite song
Best version of this song by far!!!
It's not very often. The world is blessed with someone like Colter
Ahhh looking for new music and found just what I was looking for. This song is amazing
I’ve been thinking about this a lot and at this point I’m convinced that this man is the angel of folk music.
Don’t be picking fights with no Mennonites
I feel we just met a singer who Johnny Cash would love to see him make it bigger that him!
What a great song! I must have listened to it a 1001 times and it keeps getting better every time.
This is a good song
Haha I needed a laugh ..first time I've heard this one ...these wildcats are mean is my favorite you do and others but that's my go to when nothing sounds good...wait is that you hehe my bad my bad I better go look to mine lol ❤
Like it was a church hymn
Guess I've never said that right ...oh well
I love when colter wall gives me time to smoke my cigarette in between singing really appreciate it colter
This song is from the prespective of when we still had a chance to not be in the poor house. This country has gone to shit. How is anyone supposed to make a living
Celine is so beautiful and talented. Dale can really play that geetar.
LEGEND. GOD BLESS YOU YOUNG MAN.
Great song! Canola seed was first bred in the 1970's, so I can only assume you're telling Mr. Toronto man to piss off today. Great song.
