i literally started recording vlogs because i missed all of my travels during covid. so now, if another pandemic hits, i will have enough content to rewatch and reminiscer about i think that there are definitely jobs that you can’t get without proper education like healthcare, law, science, architecture, aeronautical engineering, etc. the creative/tech industry is much more flexible and forgiving. though you have to be able to learn all the necessary skills for the position by yourself, and you will sometimes feel behind your coworkers who had proper education on the matter. i do feel behind a lot, but it helps me not to get lazy lol. another downside is that people are replaceable, and there's always a cheaper workforce option. so, like, depends on the field. and i don't really wanna bring ai to the conversation and how it might change the landscape. just trying to believe that human creativity/experience is the greatest gift that is impossible to replicate and replace 🫠

@@wheresyuliya definitely subject to a field, IT is more flexible. only 10% of the people I work with these days have actually undertaken the relevant high ed. Moreover, when recently hiring for data analysts (who are mostly self taught) with a couple of years experience I found myself looking for people with edu from completely other fields, like philosophy, or social studies. It’s actually quite interesting how this brings the diversity of thought and approaches to solve complex problems at work. That’s probably not going away anytime soon and AI will remain to be just a tool to get there, but much faster.

true. i’d say my education in economics and experience in marketing/social media definitely made me a designer with a different perspective on things.

i think from now on i’m gonna miss it too 😳

Vicious cycle indeed yeah. I also did the quitting everything and travelling part, volunteering in farms n such. Worth it for sure, but i was tired at 27 of starting over again and again so i stayed at my hometown for the padt year. Also, In my case i had thai boxing to keep me happier. But even that fell through as ive had a bad concussion n i couldnt train. This year hasn't been good hahah

Something that helped tho were shrooms. So maybe try that too:)
