Hey, thanks a lot. In short, yes everything was programmed per step in the Sinfonion (root and degree) and I used the chord sequencer to run through the steps. I could do it with CV as well, but this way is much easier tbh. I now use the Nerdseq to sequence pre-saved chords and that gives more flexibility of course. This track was actually my second experiment with Sinfonion, and was the basis of a track I released here below. I picked up a Sinfonion the other day (so I'm still very much manual diving atm!) and use a Westlicht Performer as a sequencer so knowing that I can sequence chord changes in the Westlicht is great. Programming 2 sequencers & trying to remember how many steps for each chord & section would be exhausting! Thanks for the music link. Will be listening to that in the morning Edit: I've just seen that you're London based as well. I'm over west near Richmond park.

@@chriszanf Yeah you can run through steps with the Westlicht easily, I imagine. Just set your Sinfonion to SEQ (after you've made your chord sequence) and then use a CV input to move sequence steps.. you can change progressions quite nicely and keep it fresh. BTW I used to live in Richmond for 3 years actually! Then East London for another 10yrs. I'm now based outside London in the quiet countryside ;)

@@catchthehare very happy to hear that :) i know time is precious, if you have a spare second, what do you use / how do you pair the nord & digitakt to the modular ?

@@Contang0 Yeah, that combo has been through a couple iterations and took a while to figure out the best way to integrate them with the modular. Before I used a CV.OCD to get the Digitakt synched to the modular, sometime I used it for Digitakt sequencing the modular, but I rarely used it for anything other than a clock sync (criminal). Alongside that, I used the Nord which would be either triggered by Grids + Just Friends, or via Midi on the Digitakt. Both ways work well, although I could get lovely natural variation in velocity and timbre using Just Friends to trigger the Nord inputs. Now after all that, I finally have a NerdSeq with really great Midi / trigger / CV capabilities, so I'll be using that almost exclusively for all my Digitakt midi / Nord sequencing (along with Grids and JF too). I'll probably sell the CV.OCD as it's a bit redundant at this stage

@@catchthehare nice one thanks. Dang, i did not realise grids could do melody I thought was mostly rhythm. Was looking at Marbles but maybe could get a small UGrids or something.

@@tris421 wait, do mean Mutable Grids? That is trigger and gate only, for percussion. But Monome Grid show here can do melody with Ansible module or a Norns. Ive got Marbles too, totally worth it 🤙

@@catchthehare I mean for chords. Whenever I try to use more VCOs (one for each chord note), it sounds bad because of differences in octave tracking).

@@MariusUrsache at the moment I use a Doepfer Quad VCO for chords, but for this clip I used x2 sine from CSL, x1 sine from Disting, so a 3 note chord, and then plaits mangrove and rings were on channels 123.

@@MariusUrsache that's a shame about the tracking. I tune them all to note c4 and go from there
