Ngl I’ve played soccer as a goalie and I’ve always want to do ultimate and soccer but ima try ultimate for the first time I know how to play frisbee and I should have some advantage being able to dive and block the throws and catch so hopefully I find a team this may be the start of a new career of mine

I don't get Revolver's offense. Didn't they use a side stack to iso one person at a time as the main strategy? But then on other points they run around getting in each others' way like beginners?... Anyone know what I'm getting at and got an explanation? Just look at 7:17 and 8:11...

3:54, Starting lineups 4:58, start of game 5:44, turn 6:45, Disc starting at own endzone line flat side 6:54, OS reset, wheel 7:04, BS upline. D facing disc coverage. 7:45, BS backfield reset 7:53, BS backfield reset 9:50, turn 10:19, FOS wins OS. Backed by D 13:20, OS lateral reset shut down 13:49, OS reset backfield 13:58, BS upline shut down. FOS gets disc by just shuffling a step. *14:28, OS upline 15:50, upline from previous possession... *19:05, Handler throws into the OS when it's all clogged up... They could've wheeled... But they put it right back and aren't really challenged by the D... 19:14, I like how a 87, one of the 3 handlers, just clears from the OS to open up a massive green space for a cutter to use. They get an open under. Only 10 yards, but no chance of a poach, easy to throw, easy to adjust for the cutter. Just a very safe play. 23:07, BS reset 24:55, Stranded handler 25:05, two trap side resets shut down. Hits inside fill *25:18, OS backfield reset 27:15, turn 27:41, turn poor camera work this point 29:34, Revolver zone D 32:04, Turn 33:50, Turn right after TO ends *34:19, Revolver zone D. Interesting cup here. They use 3 guys but instead of the usual L shape, it's a < shape... It gives up an easy open side upline once or twice, but on the dump it covers the BS continuation better... in theory. I don't think it really worked that way though. 40:03, looks off reset immediately 40:09, BS reset shut down 40:41, flat side lateral reset to backfield 40:46, turn 41:30, OS reset 42:00, turn 46:05, flat side reset shut down 46:14, simple but nicely executed L cut continuation half Goals *7:53, Huck. Better angle at 8:19, where you can see that the handler read the open space. No receiver was cutting deep. But the cut was available. Brilliant *10:25, Huck and whole team behind disc. Dumps and scores quickly but iffy choice. Alt angle at 10:49 (where you can see the D locked onto his check who's striking deep, but completely unaware of the disc and thrower. This allows the handler to huck and the O have the advantage.) *14:28, Not a huck. OS upline and break flick from the trap side. Perfectly done by this handler! Wow. Original angle at 14:05. Just missed all the action. 15:50, Handler strike. You can see Schlachet take off from the the 45 yard line in the background. Starts with 2 yards of separation, ends with 10+. Alt angle at and 16:54. 18:02, Huck. Goose deep strike. Same cut as the first goal despite being from Revolver. Original angle at 17:15, shows what a clean ho initiation this is. Pretty much how I'd run it at practice... So why aren't the Revolver defense stopping it?... C3 and C4 clear out deep. C2 from BS slashes. C3 continues. 19:30, Huck. A third instance of the same cut. The deepest O player goes BS, the D mindlessly trails level with them and boom, one step deep and they've got all the separation they need, then their speed adds more. 20:59, Huck and whole team behind disc play where they score quickly. Alt angle at 21:51. Note the guy who scores takes the wide route. The guy who crashes into the space nearest to Goose gets covered easily. 23:21, I think the goal is due to Beau's choice to turn in towards the field when he catches, and the cutter who adjusted when Beau took his continuation. Those two things together made the disc reverse direction towards the break side catching defenders out of position 25:18, hmmm similar to 14:28, but this time it's an OS goal. Cool! (Handler's name is Bob Liu #14.) 28:33, Huck to Beau. So speedy. And at 28:46, I like Rasmussen's stance to throw bh. Original angle at 28:10 35:21, Hammer on zone O. Alt angle at 36:02. 37:02, mid range huck, whole team behind disc play and they score quickly 42:15, huck and whole team behind disc play and they score shortly after. Better angle at 42:44. 46:17, inside shot to FOS in endzone. Alt angle at 46:44 half Turnovers 5:44, same third hammer. Better angle at 5:58 9:50, huck 27:15, huck from Joye too far. Alt angle at 27:31 27:41, turn on a huck 32:04, Revolver zone D. Potential hand block from White. Alt angle at 32:45 32:50, miscue on a huck? Cut isn't on camera... 40:46, turn on a bad huck

4:20, starting lines 7:54, that has to be the 2nd clumsiest thing I've seen Beau do 8:59, Seattle Ho initiation 10:17, open side slash (think upline) nearly poached 11:42, a little Revolver history lesson 14:08, What a perfect poach read by this red cap player. His check was super open for an easy 15 yards, but they are locked in on Beau. Unfortunately for them Beau can sky both of them... 24:27, Nice move from the FOS, disc on flat side *26:08, I like the movement here. The reset keeps the disc from moving to the open side by setting up on the flat side. This leaves lots of open space. Then two BS slashes happen and one is wide open. 26:18, Great box out by Rehder on this huck 26:47, Beautiful FOS move to get an upline 26:53, disc near attacking endzone near forced sideline 28:40, Seattle zone D 31:12, Revolver zone D 31:12, they could've scored. Receiver could've jumped like one foot backwards... wow 32:22, impressive to break Nathan White so brutally. Alt angle at 32:51 *34:26, Sweet cut by Joye at the FOS 39:54, I can't believe this player is looked off. No defender and on the break side... Perhaps it's the wind? The mark? Not a good thrower (the receiver)? *40:02, Compare this to how Beau got beat at 37:00... Sometimes it works I guess. *40:07, same thing shut down 40:59, stranded handler *44:17, I really like this cutting pattern by 99 on the far left. Doesn't get the disc, but looks like he was able to get a few yard free deep. And it seemed well timed. Not sure why he didn't get a pass. *47:49, another instance of having back to check while playing D in the BS. This defender does a really good job of catching up then boxing out. --> also, all legal contact apparently. Box out was nice and clean, but what happened after was a bit messy. Nevertheless, that's the level of acceptable contact. 1:06:10, REvolver zone D --> Also I just can't stop thinking that this one commentator sounds a lot like that spoof commentator on the internet... 1:06:52, great instance of dribbling. Catching and throwing without stopping or traveling. Original angle at 1:06:30 1:09:49, Kahill with the best upwind huck all game. (To be fair, there was no mark...) 1:15:12, giant OS layout handblock by White. alt angle at 1:15:22 Goals 4:50, better angle at 5:11 12:15, 12:39 14:38 17:50, nice job punishing the poach on the flat side. 19:47, huck. Better angle at 20:12 22:02 24:27, terrible throw, but incredible catch by Rasmussen. Better angle at 25:07 26:53, nice move at the FOS to score. Importantly, the reset moves his check out of the way of the break side. He sets himself up 45 back. Alt angle at 27:48. 29:28, zone O 32:20, zone O 34:26, Beau way too open, it confuses commentators. Better angles at 34:48 and 35:06 *36:57, on this goal is an instance of poor defending on the BS. Beau has his back to Rehder and watches the thrower. This just allows Rehder to get an extra step on his deep cut. So much separation. 40:58, 47:22, resumes after timeout. Hucks it. Half 57:15, Resuming from stoppage, defenders are communicating their coverage and yet... Better angle at 57:39. Commentators again flabbergasted at such an easy Revolver goal. 2 bad poaches here, leaving Kittredge and Higgins wide open 59:48, disc comes in at 3 after pick stoppage. Hucks it. Better angle at 1:00:09 *1:01:56, such a clean huck. Another case of defender getting beat on a BS deep strike with his back to his check. 1:05:04, Handler strike. Too fast for Rehder? Original angle at 1:04:27. 50 yard run. Rehder starts about 10 yards of receiver and can't defend the deep strike... 1:06:10, Easy zone O goal. 1:11:39, Great cutting by Beau. But the setup happened at 1:09:47. Terrible replays though, bc they cut out the part where Beau does a short but sweet jump cut hesitation to stall his defender. Smh... 1:16:02, messy upwind hucks Turnovers 6:30, Great block. Comes out of nowhere. 7:18, huck too far 7:54, huck 9:42 10:25, messy (better angle at 11:00) 16:32, embarrassing 19:36, unforced... ... clean holds for 8 straight points 44:42 44:57... Yea. That possession lasted 5 seconds. 45:26 1:03:44, miscue 1:15:12, giant OS layout handblock by White. alt angle at 1:15:22 1:15:53, Turnover on an upline/someone else in the space, not sure who it was for. Miscue? BS resets 9:19, upline shut down (potentially bc of the mark, just hard to tell with the camera angle), around wide open 9:38, upline covered, around open 10:17, not actually an upline, more of a slash, but essentially the same. 12:04, 14:21, messy 26:08, with play just starting, the reset (O'Brien) sets up 45 back in the BS, but his D sags off to take away the throwing lane. O'Brien only moves up when looked at, and he stays on the flat side. *26:35, reverse wheel. I think continuation ideally should've been OS... Although it was pretty messy. 26:54, 26:58, nice move at the FOS to score going breakside, sort of a FOS reset move. Importantly though, the reset behind the thrower moves his check out of the way of the break side. He sets himself up 45 back. 31:55, great scoober to break the cup on the trap sideline 34:15, shut down 40:30, gutsy. unfortunately no better angle. 43:46, nice catch *43:50, Reverse wheel. I think I now understand why they call this a wheel cut. lol 44:21, upline 44:28, --> and the next one *45:18, probably the easiest trap side break you'll ever get. 56:40, The mark is able to shut down this first reset, both the backfield and upline, But bc he challenges the upline (the OS), the around is wide open. ... 1:15:32 *1:15:53, Turnover on an upline bc someone else in the space. Terrible discipline for an elite team. Let the reset have his space. The thrower wasn't even looking downfield. Not your turn. OS reset 7:17 9:09, or is this more BS positioning...?? It's unusual to be a reset on this side of the disc on the flat side... *9:26, miscommunication but saved. holy 10:09, saved. almost a turn 12:09 14:38, great reset defense. Takes away the passing lane, then the dump. 16:18 17:40, nice defensive switch to take away the give-go *19:47, Shut down merely bc reset makes his move too soon, before thrower looks. (Alt angle at 20:12) 21:42, flat side wheel, resets to open side though *26:40, such a smooth pop up/elevator reset over the defender. --> but really interesting that with this and the next throw, they can't string a give-go together. 36:44, OS bc mark is flat 36:50, loses more yards than is necessary 39:09, shut down. Probably started moving too early. Drew defender to him. 59:09 1:03:38, OS upline give-go shut down 1:04:18, OS upline. --> What follows is messy, but can't see much of the field. Looks like ex-thrower clears upline, someone makes an inside cut right into the player who cleared instead of filling. hmm 1:09:11, worked harder than usual to get the backfield dump on the flat side reset 1:18:19, Flat side reset shut down

Truck use the same set play back to back! To be fair, it's the only hucking they do all game. 1:22:53, First zipper. Alt angle at 1:23:39. 1:33:42, second zipper --> this is also a great example of why you should throw late. Malks could've thrown earlier because the separation was there. But there were potential poaches from Jagt and Davis. Really great timing.

  • @Gameboob

Austin DW Turns 0:00, 0:53, 5:05, Revolver Turns 0:08, 6:39, after resuming a TO... I like the set play though. Tree? Other: 0:51, Give-go 1:10, mark broken. I like this one, cuz the thrower actually to me looks like he's trying to do a shimmy fake to throw open side. 1:17, handler strike. Wide open, as no one ready to switch. 2:56, Revolver zone D. 2 mins of non stop pressure and Revolver get the block at 5:05.

13:42, perfect flat side huck. Defender was beat badly though. 15:27, Huck turnover off pull ho initiation 16:28, Trap sideline inside break reset 16:35, Defense get lucky here. Quite out of position on this assist attempt turnover. (Like he wasn't ready for that continuation cut to the endzone from the break side...) Gets lucky with the disc hanging too long. (I respect the open side lunge from the thrower too, see 16:55 for replay angle. Good fundamentals there.) 17:09, Poach block. Leads to blown coverage on turn and a quick rather uncontested goal. 20:38, why didn't they wheel? 21:22, wins upline easily 24:23, Reverse wheel, loses yards 24:42, flat side sideline reset mess, but then they somehow score bc last back is disc watching that mess... lol. Alt angle at 25:35 26:40, b45 reset looked off 26:45, two wheel opportunities back to back. First one clogged by dumper. Second one stopped by a switch. Nice deep strike to continuate the second. 27:18, wheel! 27:54, nice break with a pop up bh 28:31, another poach block, this time on an OS upline put too far out into space Quarters of Carleton v Minn --> czcams.com/video/kWDsnGYcDU8/video.html&ab_channel=AkshatRajan

pt 2 (Character limit reached?) 1:19:27, thrower hits a reset but then sorta just jogs unsure of where to be. (So it seems. It's hard to tell exactly how much OS he's clogging bc of camera angle. But he does change tack and move to a back 45 position after a few steps downfield.) 1:21:22, poach block from off camera 1:25:55, inside upline reset turnover... Bobbled 1:26:12, FOS D tight on the back on OS stack. Throws an OS upline reset to space. Someone poaches from the stack and that cascades and a guy is free and they score. Discussion ensues over the mark on the assist thrower. Was it a foul? A TMF? Goal stands though. This happens a lot today though, not quite to that degree, but still, not that crazy of a push. *1:29:46, hectic reset cutting. What are there, 4 resets all trying to get the disc?? 1:30:08, flat side give-go not taken again. BS continuation looked for *1:31:29, clear and fill --> a couple nice around breaks get and keep this offense to the flat side and a score. Bravo use small ball here, but a bit different from the Truck Stop style of today, which is more inside break heavy. Bravo are happy to get over farther on the open side but then use an around to get quickly back to the flat side third. 1:31:49, OS upline goal / delayed give-go. 1:34:40, OS FOS D is good. Clear and fill. *1:35:40, (FOS?) reset gets inside then hucks for a goal. (Alt angle at 1:36:16) 1:38:52, delayed give-go upline 1:39:47, play resumes with disc at attacking endzone forced sideline cone. 1:39:53, trap side reset positioning is too negative. And almost gets blocked when thrown trying to not lose much yardage. 1:40:31, Mickle doesn't do a hard jab step move to get open. But it's still slightly there. *1:41:33, Bravo resume after TMF let's them set up their offense. And score in two. A wheel and open side continuation to stack. Better angle of Brodie's cut at 1:41:55. Babbit on D was TIGHT and all Brodie had to do was take one step to the OS to get free. 1:43:57, 4 reset cuts for this trap sideline disc 1:45:20, trap sideline reset to backfield --> stranded handler *1:45:39, cheeky. But D could've prevented this if they stayed tight and or if the mark wasn't doing jumping jacks. That sort of rhythm is easier to break due to its predictability. (Actually with the alt angles at 1:45:57, I wouldn't blame the D at all. I couldn't see the O's move in regular view. This is a great stutter step by the offense and the D has to respect it because they need to worry more about the OS.) 1:48:12, Marking too tight and trips thrower. 1:49:56, 🤣 Brodie Smith wrestling with Babbitt like it's a football line of scrimmage. Guess he didn't like the call just a minute ago... 1:52:59, Brief interview with Bob Krier 1:54:50, Mickle interview

First time since 2003 that there hasn't been a team from Seattle or San Fran in the men's final! (58:52) 6:30, First goal is a sweet Mickle grab. Better angles at 7:04. 8:42, huck goal off of pull. Replays have better angles 10:15, Mickle huck turnover 10:35, Really clean ho initiation and C1 gets it then hucks to C2 (Babbitt) for a goal. I liked C1's initiation. He's able to get an under in C2's lane despite C2 still being there when C1 cuts. That's good spacing. --> This is a time where I think the mark can play flat, only worrying about the huck. Team should yell no big. Give up the break side, which has just a reset who's covered anyways. This is easier said than done. But at least make the thrower pivot to the backhand. That'll add a second delay and make the throw harder bc there's less room for error and you're pivoting. The defender (Brodie Smith) was trailing a ton anyways, so the disc coming from either side wouldn't change anything. 12:36, Bravo pull play. BOS comes under after 1-4 clear to a sideline. Then some flow from off camera, probably like a side stack. 12:43, easy inside upline reset bc defender turns his back to Mickle 13:16, Big 15 yard dump off flat sideline. I think it's late stall count *13:35, Flat side clear and fill reset. Upline shut down. A goal is scored off this flow (counterflow really). Mickle does a delayed give-go. I really like this goal. Great use of breaks and counterflow. 15:30, Goal scored on flat side because of two around break throws. (#34 Bravo, the D, not happy with the break throw. He was looking to the open side during the cut expecting it on that side. But honestly, it was a break continuation (there was already one break throw before) so 34 should think break continuation first. It would also be easier to look over his right shoulder rather than the left (take a look at that awkward angle at 15:55). (The cutter expected the break throw. He looked over his right shoulder despite there being more field space on the open side.) And by focusing on the disc so much he let the gap increase. Eliminate that gap before finding the disc if you want a chance at getting a block or shutting down the cut entirely.) 17:30, pause here and bask in this amazing camera work. *19:30, Disc at attacking endzone forced sideline (resumed after Defensive foul call). Gets an upline. Bad D. Gibson able to get separation easily. A bit bc of speed, and a bit because of slight change of direction. Defender turns hips to chase but should be able to shuffle or crossover to maintain coverage. 20:51, Bravo zone D. Stops Ironside's split stack pull play *21:34, Thrower here scores. I think this works because of counterflow... bc the defender is thinking about the flow going one way (he's covering the inside), but when it switches, he's way out of position. Perfectly timed continuation cut though. *23:20, this under/slash is easily covered (hard to tell exactly how close the D is bc of the angle though). But cutter doesn't fake a cut first, so it's really easy for the D to cover him. 23:36, effective use of changes of direction/fakes while cutting (by #2). Works especially well because defender has his back to his check. 24:28, Good handler reset d on the trap side here (not good downfield D tho but nvm that). Gibson puts up a great mark and Mickle doesn't bite on the backfield move to give up the upline. Despite the separation Mickle gives up though, Gibson's positioning as the mark takes away that option. It's especially good marking bc he started with the no-inside break position and only moved to the no-around position when the thrower was looking for it. Although perhaps Gibson does overcommit his upper body to the no-around giving up the inside break option with a quick change of direction. 27:27, Mickle makes a nice cut to get open. Continuation cutter is wide open. I think that was really bad D on the guy who scores. There's really only that one cut, deep to the endzone, to worry about in that position. Stubbs or (#11) whoever was on Mickle was at least tight and denying the deep and then is also aware of the give-go and rolls. *29:15, poach block 30:05, replay angle shows the deep cut. A bit unusual, but it works. 31:22, cutter gets wide open off pull. Can't tell exactly, but probably because he sprints right towards/past the defender who has to completely 180 his velocity. Hard to do that despite there being like a 10 yard gap between them at first. It's pretty unusual to see this off a pull. Whole team behind disc play. --> Then an upline goal given up despite the D outnumbering the offense... Diffusion of responsibility? 33:17, Mark gives up the reset bc he overcommits the upper body to one side. Thrower easily goes the other way. This probably would've been ok if the reset was covered. But I still think the mark could've done better. 33:28, flat side reset given up a little too easily. Overpursues to the break side (deep but still mostly the mark's territory). 34:12, Nice upline move, but the play is poached. 20 yards is a little far for an upline 37:00, another poach block. 37:39, FOS poach attempt 37:51, bad drop. sometimes you should catch one handed. Not the best aim on this throw. 38:15 - 38:26, they quickly get it off the sideline when the flow is halted on that side. They do get two throws down the sideline, but the last thrower in this chain only looks downfield for 2-3s. He doesn't wait any longer when he sees nothing. The thing with the trap sideline is it's harder to win a cutting battle against a defender because there's less room, and if you have more than one player cutting, then there's even less space to work with. 40:57, bro 41:18, Trap side third goal. Defender was badly beaten on that first upline. 3 yards of separation. Another angle at 41:41. Just the tiniest fake got the defender going the wrong way. 45:01, b45 upline. Give-go shut down. But nice break around to reset 45:23, nice FOS cut by Mickle *45:29, Flat side sideline wheel rather than cross-field give-go. The continuation is flowing breakside bc of the path of the reset cut, which is towards the sideline. So despite Mickle being free, the first look is on the other side. --> Also is a give-go and then a goal. Really nice work off the flat side! (Another look at 46:16) 48:28, overthrown turnover. 48:47, nice FOS continuation cut by Mickle. Like a belly cut or hook cut *50:38, OS flow stopped (can't see exactly why bc of camera) but BS flow gets the goal. Gibson is wide open bc of one OS step before going to the BS. Also notice 5 vacate the space for Gibson. Although his defender didn't follow, it was still the right call. Also note that if Gibson didn't get so massively free, he probably cut a little too early. You can see him slowing down before the sideline. On serve 8-7 at half 56:20, Chat with Bob Krier, Bravo coach 59:56, *Second half starts* 1:00:21, interesting way to reset. Two options, doesn't like either and pirouettes to find someone else open 1:00:38, Stranded handler, but really nice around break 1:00:46, OS reset turnover (another angle at 1:01:18) 1:01:33, upline give-go turnover (foul on the thrower may have affected the throw, but they rule that the contact happened before the throw, so it's not a foul on the throw and the turnover stands.) 1:02:50, when you forget who you're covering... 1:04:45, upline won, but foul called (I don't see it though) 1:05:49, nice flat side movement. Couldn't the FOS D have fought more for this inside though? 1:06:28, doesn't hit the open give-go and gets hand blocked 1:06:46, when your OS clear and fill is read like a book but you don't know how to layout 1:07:56, risky huck gets blocked. Like there was no separation... I don't get this choice 1:09:20, nice flow. Lots of movement. Throw hangs just a little too long, but not bad. Good 7 cut there. Good wheel as Babbit's initial look earlier too. 1:11:27, inside upline reset 1:11:42, bad trap side reset positioning. Very easily shut down. Has almost nowhere to go except directly behind the thrower and to lose 10-15 yards just to get it. Secondary gets the upline 1:12:40, Gibson is such a non-flashy player but he's everywhere on offense 1:12:48, I like 16's FOS continuation here. Shut down on the OS, but gets the inside. Continuation back to handler but then the flow halts bc Gibson was already in the space. 1:16:05, Flat side give-go doesn't work bc give-goer too fast or bc the disc goes to the outside shoulder and so by the time the catcher-thrower is ready, the give-goer is too far away 1:16:09, the matchup that results in a foul is great D in my opinion. Standard level of contact today. Not sure why it's called a technical... 1:16:38, nice simple shimmy move for FOS to get open upline on the flat side. Defender left trailing *1:16:47, here the FOS defender shows how overcommitting to the inside/backfield space can leave the opposite side of the field wide open. Not sure why he turns his back to his check, but even if he was face-guarding from that distance, it wouldn't make a difference. *1:17:08, I love this EZO movement. From the trap sideline, clear and fill reset off the sideline, continuation look is BS while the ex-thrower clears to the stack. Then disc hasn't moved and it's back to the OS, the FOS is backed so he's wide open, continuation covered, but an upline cut gets the goal. He just walks a bit downfield which shifts the defender, then goes upline with the defender already trailing. Nice setup to the cut.

at 23:17 it looks like the receiver tried to go left hand under and right hand over for the clap catch? i think the opposite would have been far more secure

@@jacobfreedman6183 i disagree. imagine a blading OI flick or a blading OI backhand--a different hand will be "on top" depending on the angle of the throw.

To many wrong decisions from Denver's team the skill set is there but it looked like their mind was elsewere far to many drops and lack of patience, Molly Brown could have won the game with a bit more patience in the beggining.
