He's able to get an under in C2's lane despite C2 still being there when C1 cuts. That's good spacing. --> This is a time where I think the mark can play flat, only worrying about the huck. Team should yell no big. Give up the break side, which has just a reset who's covered anyways. This is easier said than done. But at least make the thrower pivot to the backhand. I think this works because of counterflow... bc the defender is thinking about the flow going one way (he's covering the inside), but when it switches, he's way out of position. But cutter doesn't fake a cut first, so it's really easy for the D to cover him. 23:36, effective use of changes of direction/fakes while cutting (by #2). Works especially well because defender has his back to his check. 24:28, Good handler reset d on the trap side here (not good downfield D tho but nvm that). Gibson puts up a great mark and Mickle doesn't bite on the backfield move to give up the upline. Despite the separation Mickle gives up though, Gibson's positioning as the mark takes away that option. It's especially good marking bc he started with the no-inside break position and only moved to the no-around position when the thrower was looking for it. Although perhaps Gibson does overcommit his upper body to the no-around giving up the inside break option with a quick change of direction. 27:27, Mickle makes a nice cut to get open. Continuation cutter is wide open. I think that was really bad D on the guy who scores. There's really only that one cut, deep to the endzone, to worry about in that position. To many wrong decisions from Denver's team the skill set is there but it looked like their mind was elsewere far to many drops and lack of patience, Molly Brown could have won the game with a bit more patience in the beggining.
