This is one of GG's most underrated albums, possibly because it sounds like a continuation of The Missing Piece, which I also consider a slight diversion from straight prog and a showcase of the band's blues/rock skills! Derek does a spot on Paul McCartney on "Friends!" Great album!

Is It just me or the beginning of some songs are like a short interlude referencing the "Hold on Youngsters" album?

John Weathers' lead vocal on Friends is so beautiful that it is a shame he didn't sing MUCH MORE!

Great album that grows on you over time. The best part is how good the mixing is, so they were arguably ahead of the curve when it came to sound design and quality. 🎉

Hella but prettier

Two things should be noted: 1) the sound of this album is extremely "rock radio 1978", and 2) round about 1977, record companies began pushing prog rock bands to evolve into more mainstream rock and pop bands. You can see it across the board: Yes, Gentle Giant, Starcastle, Dixie Dregs, ELP, Kayak, even Sea Level (not prog, but still caught in the same push), etc. Unfortunately, Happy The Man came on the scene just as this was happening and they disbanded after only 2 legendary albums.

yo back in the day it used to be a whole comment secion with people trynna give their own interpetention of what might the cover might means, i cant find it now shit. I remember one comment that was so on point at least for my brains. Anyways i dont really like their new stuff 10 years ago or maybe in 2012 or smth when i hear for first time this album i was blown away for real. The impact on me from this album was so huge so i kept coming back when they were realsing something nothing came close to my humble opinion. I remember hearing this album time after time in the bus from my village to the place where i aws studying so many memories man. Its just perfect. I remember sayin to myself "bro u ll never able to play like this" haha. Good times, i only wish just for once to see them live, i know i aint be able to see them playin this whole album but still. I dont know what to say thx everyone cheers <3
