This is such a valid feeling I feel, I am excited because I didn't get to play EW with everyone else since I took a break after SHB. It's also the stat of a new journey and it makes me very curios in which direction the story will go considering that we won't all be working together this time LOL

I didn't get that conversation with her (different dialogue choices) but I totally started crying at the end. Those bastards actually did it. I remember when she was released and there were actually some people trying to argue she isn't who she is. And when, a patch later, we get to see her name spelled out.

I’m like on the complete opposite side of this, I am hyped over the moon. I have never burned out on this game and I never will. I only ever step away when big releases happen for other games like back when elden ring came out.

I am looking forward to Dawntrail and I am interested in it but primarily for the Solution 9 stuff. I find Wuk Lamat rather annoying and some of the more goofy story beats in the post 6.X post patches just missed for me. We were told there would be a choice between two Scions and if I can choose to oppose Wuk Lamat, I'll be quite happy. That is, unless, the writers can redeem her a bit, which these writers are quite capable of doing. All in all, I am excited because I have great faith in the narrative team and I suspect there will be a pivot early on from the whole succession arc: kind of like defeating Zodiarc so early on.

Approach Dawntrail like you would A Realm Reborn but WITHOUT anyone shouting in your ear how you must feel about it. I'll just play it, I mostly look forward to new glamour, to the 2-dye system and to the graphical update. The patch content did NOT entice me, quite the contrary, to be honest. So I'll just take it at face value. I _strongly_ encourage everyone to NOT hype themselves up; settings expectations will only lead to disappointment.

Absolutely nothing wrong with stepping away from the game or playing more casually if that's what you feel. Them toning down the stakes I think is the right move, and frankly a necessary one. Not every expansion can be about the fate of all life in the universe. Not every expansion can be the climax of a 10 year arc. And there's nothing wrong with stepping back and deciding to play more casually or even deciding to step away from the game altogether if you end up not feeling it anymore.

I think this comes down to perspective. As a legacy player it was a really big deal for me to play through the original story arc and I ugly cried through Endwalker, so most would probably think I'd have lower expectations moving forward... but the truth is I still have high expectations, and here is why. The 'main story' didn't really start to take shape until the post patches of Stormblood. Something that Yoshi-p stated in a recent interview since people have been asking him about his thoughts around starting a new story arc. They had ideas and loose ends to build on for sure, but they hadn't started thinking about how it all ties together until they were in development for Shadowbringers. The reason why this is important to point out is because FFXIV 2.0 was about 1.5 years of rushed development, and even after the changes they've made up to this point, it's clear that they didn't start making the game they really wanted to until Heavensward. Think of it this way. 2.0 was them trying to create a better game out of a failure, and it was rushed and all over the place. Bad pacing especially. So Heavensward was the first time they actually were able to put real time and ideas into. What we got, was an excellent story and considered the favorite expansion by many. Heavensward wasn't really pivotal in the overall story, but it stands on its own as a precedent for good story telling/world building. The second reason why we can be excited for whats to come has to do with who is actually working on the story. For those that aren't aware, Yoshi-p did find his golden egg of a scenario writer in Ishikawa Natsuko. She made the Dark Knight storyline which is considered excellent. Because of how well that turned out, Yoshi-p had her write the story for Shadowbringers, and then the base story for Endwalker (post patches were done by someone else). Due to her success in writing the stories for those expansions she is now the creative lead, and now oversees two different scenario writers who worked on Dawntrail. One of those writers wrote the Pixie and Dwarf tribe quests... and the other which should raise some eyebrows wrote The Sorrow of Werlyt and The Four Lords questlines. Lastly, Yoshi-p has a history of keeping the better story developments a secret through development. It is very much like him to start by selling Dawntrail as the 'vacation expansion' where they stakes don't feel very high. The moment we saw the reveal of Solution Nine though at JP fanfest, we knew that there is clearly more going on than we were first lead to believe. This launch trailer further solidifies that we're in for something big for sure. It's also worth pointing out that Dawntrail is slated to have the most content added with an expansion so far.

I don't feel as hyped either. And that's okay. But I accept that it's just me being a long time player. What matters is that I recognize why the feeling is lukewarm to me, but it's not going to be the same for others who are newer. I'm of the opinion that everyone should come into any expansion with their own perspective rather than be influenced by others' opinions or experiences. One thing is certain though, I'm going to enjoy myself.

Young lad, I shall attempt to drop some wisdom bombs on you. Many moons ago, many console generations ago I picked up a game. Renting games was the main way people in the olden times accessed gaming content. I happened upon a game that had been released not all that long ago at the time: Final Fantasy. From that day on, hype or not, Final Fantasy has been ever present. I still game, somewhat, kind of. The only exception to that rule is Final Fantasy. From NES FF1 to Dawntrail. The lesson learned is this: There is no regret. For the amount of time, money, and investment into FF. The second lesson is a more bitter pill: It has it's place. They are to be enjoyed and put aside. Square will do it's utmost to provide an excellent Final Fantasy experience with each and every title, their dedication is unparalleled. But it is not life. That feeling of a lack of hype? It only builds and spreads to ALL of gaming. Video games, in the end, are digital content. They take your mind off of things, they take your mind to places. But in reality you are simple spending hundreds or thousands of hours looking at a screen and pressing buttons. Everyone knows this but not every gets it. They look for the next thing that will give them an artificial excitement but you can only saturate yourself in inauthentic and artificial excitement by pressing buttons while looking at a screen before it all seems so... unhyped. Bland. The third truth is the one no one will tell you about: There are millions of gamers who live for the inauthentic hype. The excitement in their lives is not from their friends, their families, having children, their own adventures, their obstacles overcome. It's from returning home from an 8 hour job they would never work except for the pay to look at videos of gaming content, to sit in front of screens and push buttons. One year, after another, consuming product. It has it's place. And Final Fantasy, DT included, will be worth taking that place - and being put aside. Avoid the digital - it's the realm of the inauthentic who's benefits are minimal. Be a connoisseur. Be discriminating in your tastes and the usage of your time because when you find yourself spending hundreds and even thousands of hours pressing buttons while staring at a screen you will face a hidden but obvious truth of the advanced gaming age: game play loops are designed to produce dopamine hits, loot drops are designed to keep you coming back for more, to keep you paying. Only the truest of game makers attempt to reward you with an experience worthy of not only your dollars but your time and your attention. Be discriminating. Be picky. Be choosy. Enjoy and put aside. The hype in your life should come from your informed decisions about what you aim yourself at and how you achieve your aims - if you don't enjoy and put aside you will not even aim at other things let alone achieve them.

I'm kinda the same boat, I am excited for the Eden ultimate but not much else. The Endwalker story just didn't resound with me as I felt like too much of the plot was just weak writing at best, so I don't have super high hopes for story in this expansion.. I also am just bored with the scions as characters, it just kinda feels like going through the motions with most of them in the story the last 2 expansions. Quite honestly I am just kinda thirsting for some fresh blood in the story, so far based on trailers that prospect isn't looking too promising. Will I play Dawntrail though? Yes. But if the quality just isn't there in the content, I'll probably indefinitely log out after I finish the Ulti.

Dawntrail is setting the foundation of the new story arc. How cant you be exited? Dont you know what huge changes are about to be released except the grafik update and dual dye system? And these are Just minorstuff what we will recieve. Dont expect a huge showdown right at the begining of a new story arc..

Yeah I'm having the exact same feelings for the game. I've been playing a few alliance raids here and there to get the hang of the gam again the past month or so. I don't feel the need to log on every day. I don't feel the need to play the hardest content. I just don't feel a need to play. Which isn't a bad thing imo. MMO's run several peoples entire lives. I want it to be a little hobby I hop in and out of. Just like I'd do a sport. You don't play a sport every single day. You play every few days or weekends. You may do a drill or something on off days, but you won't be putting hours to it each day.

It's the start of a new story arc. There isn't much to go on so you can't really be super hyped up.

Since i got into the game late into Shadowbringers (5.3 to be precise) i dont have as much history with the game but i loved my time in EW, though the drought did feel bad i still had plenty of stuff to do outside of EW, like eureka which i spent so much time in and genuinely found to be one of my favourite things in the game. I never played this game exclusively tbh, so there's that too, overall I'm excited for Dawntrail, i was worried it would also have a similar drought to Endwalker but im hopeful cuz of all the things they have planned for it, just hope they dont delay some of those. All this aaid though, there's a decent number of people who will see endwalker as their personal end to their time with this game and i know a few of them, its a completely understandable thing, i had similar stuff happen to me with warframe and destiny and sometimes its just good to stop

I am normal about it. I think there should be something (fun) to do if I am paying for a subscription. A subscription based service shouldn't run out of things to do imo, that's like saying I watched every single show on Netflix and there is nothing to watch.

I researched Firefly before this animation was posted, and I honestly got the impression that Trailblazer was the one who found Firefly in her Cryopod and recruited her. I guess I was wrong. I was kind of hoping that we would see Stellaron Hunter Trailblazer in this animation. But there's something very odd about that ending. I feel like I'm missing something here.

I ran into this situation as a fellow commander, and i was not nervous one bit. i was just thinking of me and Soda on the sides while Alice bundles up in the middle for maximum shared warmth, especially due to Alice's natural body heat being much higher than normal lore wise. Honestly, Soda's the shy girl, Alice is the excitable innocence, and I'm just a cuddle bug.

If you're an FF fan who doesn't mind FF games revolving around only one character, then yeah you should buy FF16. But if you don't like FF games revolving around one character, which most fans of the game don't, then do not buy this game. To those who have not played FF16 yet, you should know that the game only revolves around the main character and literally no other character gets to shine, so if you're not a fan of that do not buy this game.

The reason red hood said to destroy ark might have something to do with it's power source 2.that Ether and the black ark ranger share the same body like red and rapi did something about her hold the ranger figurine makes me think that also Ingrid said 2 cores together give them a tremendous boost in power so that probably why the power source is generating crazy energy
