The Lauf Seigla Does Things Different (and we like it...)
The Lauf Seigla doesn't look like your average bike, but don't let that stop you from adding it to your short list! The frame, fork, and bars have all be meticulously tuned to provide comfort without sacrificing performance. That, combined with a phenomenal part spec for the price, makes this bike Seigla hard to ignore...as long as your content without a front derailleur or dropper post.

How To Tune Your E-Bike Motor (And Why You Should!)
zhlédnutí 907Před 21 dnem
Most cyclists wouldn't dream of taking a maiden voyage on their new bike with adjusting things like tire pressure, saddle height, or pedal choice; but I'd be willing to be that these same riders have never taken the time to tune their e-bike's motor to fit their needs. If that's you, don't worry, because in this video we look three performance characteristics that are adjustable on just about e...
Shimano Deore vs CUES || Which is Best for You?
zhlédnutí 44KPřed měsícem
Shimano has had a reputation for making some of the best entry to mid level groupsets for years, so it was no surprise that the their latest drivetrain, CUES, was met with favorable reviews. But we wanted to know how it compares to the already impressive line of Deore MTB drivetrains, and thankfully @jensonusabicycles was able to help us find out! In this video we compare the 10 speed CUES U600...

Hardtails all the way👍. Waiting for your next hardtail review.
drt 3.1 full . i think its very good and that i got a good deal for 1200 dollars
Nice!!
Not even true that Full is faster. Watch GMBN not this trash.
Or you could watch elite cross county, enduro, and downhill racing, all of which is dominated by full suspension bikes. Or is that also trash 🤔
@@99spokes Watch their test of full vs hardtail. I have both types of bikes. I mean it is what it is, isn't it. You could also watch them ride a 25 year old downhill bike and get essentially the same times. It really is the rider and not the bike. I would be equally slow on both. It is trash content, because it is not true. You are comparing apples to oranges to get clicks. Social media needs to become accountable. Again, it is what it is, but I at least got a reply. Seems like the only people "creators" spend time replying to are bad comments. That's just sad. Talk to some of the people that were positive. They are the ones that matter. Not a complainer like me.
Feel free to check out any of our other content to see what we’re up to, cheers 🤙
27 inch road wheels on a mixtee commuter frame with drop handlebars and skinny gravel tires. I do a little bit of everything.
I like it!!
Hard tail the cheapness and the lower maintenance
I have the Seigla Race Transmission and put 2.2 Race Kings on it. They absolutely make the bike come alive. 45c Rambler is an ok tire, but just that.
My 30lbs roadbike with no suspension and mtb tires 🗿
Way to be!!
Full sus. Hardtail is for beginners.
Why? Wouldn't it make a bit more sense for the newer rider to be on the more forgiving bike and a more experienced rider to take the one the requires more finesse and technique to ride well?
@@99spokes I could argue the point, but the truth is, I haven't ridden a bicycle in years. And surely not the kind in the video. I'm in no way an experienced enough rider to make an informed opinion. I just say things.
Lol fair enough 😅🤙
Team beach cruiser
Haha I like it!
My 21lb. Pivot Les SL absolutely FLIES up those climbs. Team Hardtail all the way
Oh I bet!!
All of them!
The real answer!!
I've been riding for 30yrs. Every 5yrs or so I go back to a hardtail for a refresh. Every time the hardtails get better and better. I currently have a honzo esd and there's nothing I won't hit up here in Bellingham on it.
They really do! Glad you're stoked on the ESD, I've ridden it a few times and it's a blast!
My POS ironhourse downhill bike I got for 180$ is the most forgiving downhill, while being terrible up hill.
Hard tail
All depends on the trails to be ridden. Hardtails spice up greens and blues and spicy trails call for the full sus.
True!!
#1 I really appreciate your deep dive reviews and completely agree about the lack of 2X or dropper seems like a miss. On the other extreme, the short travel fork and rear stay dampening built in seems like this would be a great option for monster gravel rides or some mellow Blues and Green XC course rides. Especially with a mullet drive and fat 29x2.1” tires
Glad you found it helpful! We're planning to do a gravel tire size test later this summer and the Seigla will probably be the bike we do it on, stay tuned!
Specilized Rockhopper
U can add a dropper! Sram axs wireless is the best option and worth every penny. It eliminates the need of an extra lever and makes it safer keeping ur hands on the hoods! Or buy an external routed old school style dropper, they still sell new ones! I have this bike but core wireless with sram axs rival but added an e13 cassette 9-45 and about 100 grams less and it makes a huge difference. U dont need a transmission mullet setup unless u want the luxury or not that good at very steep hills. And this bike is not that agressive of a geo like people claim who dont own it, just go up on the stem spacers and/or flip the stem. Also Now got berd sperro wheels (rope spokes) for the rocky chatter and lighter in weight. Also im not sure y but with a maxis xc 2.2 tire it rubs on the top inside of the fork when it bottoms out and no one talks about this. Mtb tires r taller. I swear i need to make a long term review to show what isnt talked about and show hidden details.
Yep, like we say in the video, just compatible with an electronic post. That's rad you put some Berd wheels on yours, I bet it's even more supple now!
I have 2.2 conti race kings on mine and never experienced rubbing. In fact, there is a ton of room still.
i think shimano derailleurs are crap. i went through three slx derailleurs in 7 months. all of them were catastrophic failures. each broke in a different spot. my nx 11 speed is on about 2 years now… clunky and fidgety but still alive
Dang! Sorry you've had that experience!
Looks like you’re riding in Bend, Oregon.🤔
You guessed it! You from around here too?
And I don't now what to choose between the Poligon Xtrada 7 and the Rose Bonero 1
The Polygon will be better for XC riding, whereas the Rose will be better for more technical, all-around trail riding
Because I have a dificult time finding the best bike that fits my buget:~$1000
Can you tell me please if the Rose Bonero 1 is good??🙏🙏
Yeah, it's a super solid bike for what you're paying! Good geometry and decent parts. You may struggle with the SRAM SX drivetrain, but you could upgrade it piece by piece to GX if/when any of those components break
Why is it so hard to find a hard tail for $800 that has everything that you need out of the box I have looked and I cannot find one
Because all of those "things that you need" cost money haha! Have you looked on the used market? We're currently working on a $500 hardtail video where we're sourcing everything used, that will come out later this month!
I’ve looked at used stuff but not that yet
Stay tuned!
👍
Watch some of the frame inspection videos too thin for peace of mind
Interesting!
@99 Spokes, curious about your opinion on the Bianchi Specialissima Comp Ultregra Di2, for around $6k. Good option? Not pure “endurance” but not as aero as their Oltre?
I ride fat bikes full time now having switched over from my 29er. The fat tires in any of the configurations provide superior traction and rollover capability in the Arizona desert. Mine are set up leaning toward XC styling and all weigh around 30 lbs or less. Having ridden regular mountain bikes for 25 years plus years I can say that I will never go back to the skinny tires.
That's rad!
For that money get a full susp
Why though? If I had a dollar for every time someone said "you could get a full suspension for the price of that hardtail" I'd buy myself another hardtail.
A 27.5 + tire has nearly the same outer diameter as a 29. Fwiw
Currently I'm running a 12-speed Deore drivetrain and actually sometimes I wish it would shift a little bit slower. When shifting down sometimes the shift is so abrupt, that loose my footing on the pedal. So, if they ever bring 12-Speed link glide cassettes I might try one out just because of that.
Nice! Yeah, Shimano calls that "chain shock" and the intentionally sought to decrease it on CUES
limited ability of 26". *haha* they will limit you exactly not at all downhill.... don´t get me wrong i also ride a mullet bike but i would be no milisecond slower with 26" wheels if i would have the same suspension...
Bullshit 28" 29" are the same 622
what the fuck .. who sets prices ...you can buy car i love mtb i have scaled up in prices but 10,000 our passion for bikes is becoming insane only solution is to not pay these insane prices until dealers realize we won't pay....and you see the difference when the product goes on sale
Why don't you mention Whyte?
Great bikes! Sadly hard to get your hands on in the U.S. where we're based out of
If STATE had used the same drivetrain they use on their All Road series bikes it would have been a big win for this fatbike!
29 and 27 1/2 are a waste of time 26 is where it's at quit being stupid over an inch and a half
great review/comparison but i just was curious what you meant by the double upshift of the xt shifter because i have the had the very very old 9 speed deore and that had double upshift on its shifter if you push the lever farther and then i bought a bike with the 10x1 deore groupset and the shifter had a triple upshift lever, same as the 11 speed deore. so the 11 speed deore shifter will shift 3 gears if you push the upshift lever all the way
Glad you liked it! What you’re talking about is down shifting into an “easier” gear. With XT and XTR you can shift up (harder gear) twice with one lever throw. Once you get used to it it’s hard to go back haha!
@@99spokes ahh i see, it was a mistake on my part since upshift and downshift in persian mean the opposite of what they mean in english, so in persian an upshift moves the chain up the cassette to bigger cogs and a downshift moves the chain down to smaller cogs.
That’s fair, it’s definitely confusing! It helps me to think about the gears on a car, you start in first gear and work up as you accelerate
cheapest was 1,699? wtf?
We have a $500 used hardtail challenge coming out later this month, stay tuned!
Thanks for letting me know this. 😊
Is this bike also decent on paved trails? I ride them alot but also like the versatility of going on gravel/packed trails.
I didn’t do much paved riding with it. That said, most gravel bikes will be great on the road too; you’ll usually just sacrifice a bit of aerodynamics and handling for better stability. The grit fork obviously won’t be as needed on smoothed pavement, but I don’t think you’ll notice much loss of efficiency from it 👍
@99spokes thank you so much! I'm not in it to win races just am newly addicted to cycling (I'll keep my budget road bike in case I want to zip around). I feel like the gravel is my best bang for buck because, like you said, even little bumps on my road bike right now are brutal on the wrists and forearms. I also think it will be fun to go off the beaten path on trails like the ocala national forest. Thank you so much for your response!
@@jacquelinemartinez4967 The seigla fork will take a bit of the sting out of little cracks and bumps on the road for sure. Another option though is to fit a suspension stem. I had the redshift suspension stem on my bike before I got a seigla, and honestly it feels pretty similar.
The Siegla is probably the best bang for the buck currently on the market
29 is just a fad
Correction at min 1:04. The Seigla will not fit a 29x2.5. Max tire size is 29x2.25.
Haha good catch, must be my inner mountain biker coming out 😅
Trek Roscoe 9
The ability to ride my favorite DH tire combo (Michelin DH22/34) is really hilarious, I might need this bike for research purposes 🤣
Please fill us in on your findings 😂
i love bikes because they're easy to steal and fun to ride;) ive never made a purchase that was even remotely bike related, i have a bike collection of about 15 bikes currently.
Showing walk mode was nice touch.
Good, glad it was helpful!
