I can be the contrarian to this topic. Some two of my favorite games, half life 2 and halo combat evolved; I replay on a yearly, if not two times a year basis. I’m 25, and those were the first 2 fps games I got super into on the original Xbox. And I still play them to this day, just not on the OG Xbox. But there are some games I find great, and they are definitely “one and done”. So I can understand your reasoning 100%

Idk. I still think summons are at least somewhat core. Cause you literally need to summon some NPCs in order to do their quest line. Like why would they make a non core part of the game a requirement to complete some quests?

Honestly after not playing this game like ds3 and trying a different approach, ER bosses are easily the best in the series. Trying to go for poise and positioning myself correctly is the playstyle they were looking that fromsoft expected from players. But for some reason they never teach these mechanics. Fromsoft have some of the best and worst game design principles.

Every game is a "rogue like" if you reset without checkpoints after dying. Stupidest idea ever. Nobody wants to waste their time doing the same levels over and over unless they're unemployed and have nothing better to do.

Im glad that Bandai has made an announcement to focus on quality. But regardless of that, its really shitty that they have a monopoly on anime game licensing when there are so many other studios and companies that could probably do great things with the IPs. Whats the point of having all of these IPs for games if you're going to absolutely waste them? There have been some games that have surprised me, like the My Hero Battle Royale game having pretty interesting and unique mechanics, but there is still very clearly an issue with quality control not being handled appropriately with the relatively small company of ByKing. I dont hate ByKing, but god damn they need more experienced and skilled employees if they're going to be making games for such major and beloved IP

Pleiades or 1943 are closer to that type of top down shoot-em-up that DB game is not Space Invaders

I hate it when people say "thanos was right" like dawg, imagine there was an irl saint that always helped others and never commited sin, then there was the definition of the devil who will kill or cause suffering for his benefit then the saint dies because some edgy kids think people deserve to die because of the bad apples also, why stop at double the resources? the infinity stone can do anything, just give everyone the ability to summon anything useful (buildings/land, food, water etc.)

Even though people troll Bandai Namco but they don't know the fact they're literally will be in debt and might be bankrupt if they don't make or make one dlc per year basis on anime IP they acquire right's for video games adaption like DBZ, Naruto so for contract they will make good and bad game's

What i hated about this the most is that Jen belittles bruce when all bruce had done was help her. He is also THE ONLY PERSON ON THE PLANET who knows what shes is going through. Bruce isnt all of the men who wronged her, hes her FAMILY and only wants to see her thrive.

Look, I understand and agree with you, but after 25 minutes of video you say dbz kakarot, one piece odyssey and naruto shinobi striker is not for you. So what do you expect ? They make different games and people like you dont like it. Shinobi striker team game you dont like, kakarot story rpg and you dont like it, odyssey strategy game and you dont like it, I bet you dont even like one piece world seeker. They want to sell games. If it depended on you, these 4 games would mean bankruptcy for namco bandai because you would not like them. They need to do different games, but people need to play them.

I loved Malenias boss fight and would argue that for me I got more enjoyment out of it than of any other boss in the game. It is far to easy for many elden ring bosses to just brute force the encounter. Sure, you get hit a couple of times but if you don't get greedy you can beat most of them without realy learning the ins and outs of their moveset. Waterflow dance aside her other moves are just telegraphed enaugh to correctly identify them and chip her health away. You get cocky and think "wow, i think I got it, now I will punish her" she gets you. If you are lucky you get away fast enough or charger her poise break meter enough that she makes distance and you can heal back to full health. If you have just half health or lower a non perfect waterflow dance will end the game. Her lifedrain mechanic was one of the best decisions for her design in my opinion. It makes trading blows with the boss a very bad idea and I like that. It forces you lo ether learn her moveset or loose. The addition of the dance makes it even more deadly to try that strategy because this dance is as hard to dodge perfectly for a reason. Getting a full hit is a KO but at least a partial dodge is very much in the cards with a bit of practice for everyone which is survivable - if you have full HP. That means that in contrary to other bosses you can never be relaxed with fighting her while beeing wounded. You need to strife for perfection and eventually you will earn it. My only gripe about this move is that it is a pain in the ass to learn how to dodge it since it will instakill right of the bat. It would be better for learning experience if for example her initial dance just has two steps of blade discharges and gets buffed up in later stages. This way you could learn how to counter this move without it literaly ending the fight every time for players new to her mechanics.

I disagree. I enjoyed every single bull crab mechanic😂 the difficulty is what really made me love these games.

I love the praise that Gundam EXVS got in the video. The EXVS series is amazing. It has the charm from the show, and is mechanically interesting with so much depth. So Bamco please put EXVS2 on pc.

How the hell did you not mention Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise? That was a great game based off an anime and it was developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, the guys behind the Like A Dragon games.

Honestly, these are some super good points against arena fighters. They do oversaturate the market, however I feel as though your "different flavors" argument is underestimating the depth that you create in these games. Like you said, depth in these games are as much as you make it and these games have depth that people simply don't want to look into. Demon Slayer, while looks like the Naruto Storm series, has a different play style, same with things such as Jump Force and Xenoverse with their respective oversaturated type of play styles still have differences that give them their unique takes despite the "safeness" of the games themselves. I do agree though, there needs to be more variety besides arena fighters over and over again, I just believe that many people underestimate them by immediately calling them sloppy button mashers without properly looking into the depth of the systems they try and make their own in the IPs.

I feel like a Gintama game in the style of Yakuza would just work.
