    most people don't use that no more in tractor rear wheels they will eat them up and rust the wheels out now they use antifreeze 4 the rear wheels the rear wheel weights 4 that tractor 🚜 😊 should've been enough weight unless U needed more weight 😊😊 2 27 2O24

    Learned a lot about the gravely tool holder! Great videos! Do you sell parts or know where I could purchase some of the sweep and hilling type tools for my gravely tool holder? I live in Southwest Va in Wytheville. Any help you could give would be much appreciated thanks

    This is one of my favorite implements! The two wheel Gravely tractors are too wide for cultivation between garden rows, I use a high wheel push cultivator and walk backwards. I like the Gravely for soil prep and clean up. For soil prep, I turn the tines 180 degrees and run the tractor in reverse, which makes the tines dig in better and makes the depth wheels more effective. It also makes a smoother seed bed with fewer tracks. For clean up, I spread the cultivator arms almost straight across, adding extra tines and orient them forward, creating a power rake. I take the depth wheels off in this configuration, making space for two extra tines.

    Have you seen planters for the pony?

  • @stephaniematheson4133

    So I know this is a lot to ask but could you possibly look at the video I just uploaded and tell me how to attach the tool bar?

  • @stephaniematheson4133

    Can’t find a video to show how this tool is attached to the pto of the gravely. Is there something that holds the pto gears in place to put this on? I’ve actually had them fall out on me once while working on it. Not sure how this things works with the pto.

  • @keithriley8414
    @keithriley8414 Před rokem

    I think the extra pieces are for mounting seed cans. You could also use the culitvator as a 2 row planter. I have the 2 drive wheels that are used to run the planter, one wheel mounts on the inside on the the axle, the other on the outside of the wheel

    Sure is a fine specimen!! I saw pictures of it on Facebook. I was going to ask if the sides are original to the tractor? If they are I assume they were taken off at one time and set aside??

    • @rebelborn811
      @rebelborn811 Před rokem

      Yes everything is original all sold together brand new to the gentleman I got it from in 1948 never spent a day out of the barn after the job is done they side panels didn’t spend as much time on the tractor as the rest did

    The 354 was a lot better motor for that machine than the Gas sucking 318

  • @vintagetractorsaustralia

    The twin power was really just a gimmick on anything other than a styled pacemaker. The styled pacemaker has a special governor that is linked to the gear selector via a cable. When you put the twin power in the high setting it locks out the gear selector so that you can not put the tractor in gear when the higher rpm is being used. It’s for belt only. The ‘twin power’ on all the later models was just an extra notch on the throttle quadrant. Nice tractor and great video.

    Thankyou so much for sharing this. I recently got a pony from my brother and have been doing a valve job on it which I've been posting videos of on my channel but winter weather is slowing that down. It was always just used for snow plowing but did come with a one bottom plow and disk which I've been scratching my head over how they were mounted. Mine does have the hydraulic option so they probably hook up somewhat differently than yours. I've subscribed to you and am looking forward to your future updates.

  • @edschaar2868

    A couple points about your hoes. You don't have hoes, but you have a set of sweeps that have been cut down to use as hoes. Also the hoes should be should be swapped. You have the left one on the right side, and the right one on the left side (the shank goes nearest to the plant).

    Nice!, i like the wheels on it. if the leaves are really wet, pull the screen. And/or throw some dry soft wood in, (pine, soft lumber). It'd knock the wet clippings off from the sides and wont hurt the hammer knives. I luv mine

    if u dont 'need' original, u can make a cart seat pan and tailgate from regular sheet metal. a harbor freight metal brake can help with the angled lips (but a hammer and vise works too) I used old computer pc tower panels, old a/c unit and file cabinets for mine, Lot of peeps bolt a metal seat from a L/C sulky (or any ol tractor) onto the cart seat pan and seeder lid

    Very interesting and informative. I have 3, 4, maybe 5 of them my self. Their uses are only limited to one's needs and imagination. I have the grader blade, hillers, the rear hitch and some other stuff. I recently passed on a milk crate with a full assortment of steels, hoes, etc. for $5. What the heck was I thinking. Anyways, subscribed. I have some videos on my channel of them with alternative uses. Cable trencher, log mover, and maybe some others. Oh, and my model D came with one on the rear. So, the tool holder may be one of Gravely's oldest attachments.

  • @rtundlt1

    WOW. Never saw anyone run over their entire crop cutting hay. Usually we cut the field then make the final "back cut" to trim out the edge of the field. Also, leaving the cutter bar on the ground makes for a smoother looking field and more hay. But, that's just technique. Otherwise, I love seeing and hearing the old Massey 44 run. We had a 44D on our farm when I was a kid and I have very fond memories of working the land with it. Great tractor.

    • @rebelborn811
      @rebelborn811 Před 4 lety

      We where just running it around a couple times in this video working on adjusting it to get it to run right and not jam. We didn’t cut the whole field we wouldn’t really run like that if we was trying to make hay.
