Talk Back with Ben Hammond on dLive EQ and compression
I want to hear more how he deals with a singer going everywhere ... drum bleed.
Bending these headphones is really scary, I keep feeling like I’m gonna break them
ive been mixing 90% mono ever since this video, changed my mixing alot! Are there other videos of Adam? i could have sworn there was one on vocals too
Great video. May I know what brand and model of 2 speaker that you use that stand beside your digital mixer? And how often this you used? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
Interesting info, barely audible over the atrocious background music.
Remember that scene from Austin Powers when he and his dad Nigel are having the conversation in English English.... thats pretty much how my American ass hears this video lol
Yeah.. that stuff is true.. eq is a manipulator not a drawing sheet, it doesn’t have to beautiful, some people like frowning out another persons eq curve, you don’t know how it sounds raw, they will just open their big mouth and say sh**
great ressources although the ducking on the voice makes it unwatchable !
Thank you
Definitely agree in mixing mono (with rare exceptions) since >70% of the audience is out of the "stereo sweet spot" and probably 25% is actually outside the left or right.
Thanksss! Didn’t know how to fold them 😅
On my DAW Control preference, the Input and Output port is the “-“ for me. It doesn’t match what yours says. Mine is the SQ7 mixer
Same problem, did you solved it?
@@pawel86a I know it was awhile ago, I don’t remember what the problem looked like before but I got it figured out
"If it sounds right I don't care", MAN SPITTING FACTS.
Nice
What's that hardware tape emulation box with massive meters he's talking about? Shadow Hills or something?
Yes Ben! Love the Integrity! fuck the haters on what that EQ looks like! I dont feel so Alien Now 😂
This is Fuckin Lush Lads! You sexy bastards! 😍😍😍
Hi Logan. Could you please give some feedback on what could be the solution if I'm interesting to use these sp1 speakers almost in two floor building. I have a question how I should to connect this system in one proper audio source where I can manage remotely music playlists and commercials. Thank you in advance
Hi Kaspars, sounds like a nice project. Where are you based? it would be best to put you in contact with the resellers in your local area.
@@talkback_audio Hi. I'm not sure that I can call this like a project but rather than like small family business. So I'm not sure that I want to involve like a professionals here but after I watched your reviews and testing footage they made me interested and wanted to understand the possibilities. 🙂
@@kapiits Great, if you let me know your location I can connect you with a reseller if you are interested.
This video apply to QU desks, too?
Great to hear some backinformation and thanks a lot for you knowledge - all the best for both of you
Why do you use ear protection or are those headphones?
Hi. One question. Using Daw mode, can you use the mixer fxs like an SSL?
All I could hear is a cheesy organ and a drum machine. Couldn’t hear the instructions.
Please cut out that annoying background music!
this helped me soooo much i was wondering why i still kept hearing echo.. its so crispy now! woohoo!
why dont you plug your guitar into the line input via jack?this way is better you think?thanks
Channel 1 and channel 2 have a high impedance guitar input option for the line input if your guitar is electric or an acoustic guitar with built in pickups. I like the sound of a mic for acoustic, or you can even do both and mix them.
@@talkback_audio I’m professional musician::) i know that…I just wondered why you don’t plug the guitar into the mixer , ok 👍
Love how you said you don't care what the EQ LOOKS like... Some times I wished the screen wasn't there, I wished a lot of people would mix with their ears, and not their eyes as well.
how did you rename midi channels to sq? I tried from the console and from the PC it did not work
It should automatically name the channel. I would check you are using the right protocol - Mackie Control Standard should transport the names over.
@@talkback_audio easy .Midi driver 2.0)
Can I get your contact please.
Nice one sir.
I like to know the mics used by Big Ben with skunk Anansie. Is it possible?
Click on your top layer (as a visual cue) is a great tip! Stealing that.
Thanks
Awesome work! From which song is the guitar riff that keeps repeating in the background?
Hi, the 2 songs used are Worthless and Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow.
Great stuff!
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Good content
Are those steps applicable for the QU-16 too with a PC this time?
Yes, the MIDI Control software works with Qu as well.
Very addicting! Sounds awesome
question: Can I record at the same time from stereo 1 and M1 or M2? And if yes, how the Stereo channel apears in my DAW? Two separate tracks, or one stereo tracks?
Hello and great question. You can record the M1, M2 and stereo one by routing only the Stereo 1 into the main LR and use the button marked "M1 - M2 - L - R" but this means you would not be able to listen to anything else on the L R or it would be on the stereo recording. An alternative way to avoid using your L R bus for recording would be to plug your stereo track into M3 and M4, while having no buttons selected on the USB routing and therefore recored M1 - M2 - M3 - M4. For the DAW software side routing it will depend which DAW you have for how to set it up. For Logic you could set up two mono tracks and one stereo, set input 1 to mono track one, input 2 to mono track two and input 3+4 for the input on the the stereo track. Hope that helps!
@@talkback_audio thank you for the answer. It would be great if this was possible with the simple way, probably I will search for another product
@@TsampikosKamateros Best of luck with your setup, what DAW are you using? what else will you be plugging into the mixer?
@@talkback_audio Bandlab by Cakewalk, with Korg pa3x, Yamaha p-125, Roland FR3 digital accordion, and a Shure ks32 mic
Great Walkthrough hoping to see more contents like this
Will it work with QU series as well? Thanks
Yes you can, you just need to make sure you choose QU on the Allen & Heath MIDI Controller. This video explains how QU/MIDI works czcams.com/video/UcaSKkFJ94g/video.html
I like to watch more, please.......!
Great info on this chat, really looking forward to hearing more.
