    If you look at the earliest map of Nigeria, Lagos was and is still encompassed by all the other Yoruba states. Benin would have had to travel through Ondo (a Yoruba state) to be a able to own Lagos so i will go with the Aworis any day and also, it's Yoruba that is spoken in Lagos till date.

    The Lagos state government is supposed to remove every trace of the Benin monarchy in Lagos state. They are invaders in Lagos state and they established an arm of their kingdom in Lagos when they saw it as a thriving trading spot. They went into war with the people they met on the land, asked them to pay them taxes, and installed themselves as king over the place. They shoukd be removed and if they like, find their kingship in Benin. That the British empire installed governments in countries does not mean they own thzt country

    You can never get the true history of lagos from a Yoruba person, because they were never part of the discovery of lagos and as a matter of fact they are not even part of the history in any way. So it is clear that none of them in this video knows the history of lagos.

What the heck is this woman saying here, talking from both sides of her mouth. Iyaba is a Benin name, not yaba, yabah, stop your BS old man!! Iyaba in Benin means "forgiveness"!!!!!!!! Yoruba, we all understand that Benin found Lagos, and it is very painful psychologically for you people! But that is the fact, deal with it, you cannot change history, no way, no, mbah!!!

    40:00 if I was in position of authority I'd have sacked the Commissioner for his statement here. People are getting lands authorised by government and you are complaining that when the government plan for whatever is ready to be implemented the land won't be available, then why make it available in the first place when its in marked to meet the State's Plan? Instead, blame is passed to the community for selling lands to "those" people. Big shame to the Min of Physical Planning & Development...as usual blame game for failures

    This lady, Erelu Dosunmu is telling lies. Benin people collecting taxes from Aworis, sending it to Oba of Benin right from Lagos after claiming that the same oba left Benin to found Lagos. Which oba of Benin were they then sending the taxes to? An oba of Benin that was already in Lagos to found Lagos? It is all lies. There were no airplanes, no oceans, no seas, no ships connecting Benin to Lagos in those days. How did Benins trekked from Benin by passing the Ondos, the Ikales, the Ilajes, the Ijaw arogbos to land in Lagos? It is all lies. The Benins did not found Lagos.

      Erelu Dosunmu is not right. What she is saying is not true. There were no aeroplanes in those days. There were no ships in those days. There were no airports and harbour ports in those days. No roads in those days. There were no oceans or seas connecting Benin and Lagos. And the Benins trekked from Benin, bypassing the Ofosus, bypassing the Ondos, bypassing the Ikales, bypassing the Ilajes, bypassing the Ijaw arogbos and the ijaw apois in the present day Ondo state, the Benins bypassing the Ijebus, bypassing the Remos, bypassing the Epes, bypassing the Ikorodus, and finally locating and founding Lagos Island, settled there, and started collecting taxes from the Aworis and other Yorubas in Lagos. Everything Erelu Dosunmu is saying are just conjectures and hear says. Oral narrations that cannot be authenticated are falsehoods. It is all lies. Nothing specifically can show how the Benins crossed all hurdles on the way from far away Benin and landed to found Lagos. Benin to Lagos today is almost 400 kilometres. It is all lies and fabrications.

    The court has legalised Lagos as a Yoruba land by Constitution and legitimatemly long time ago,because there are no Edo people towns and cities around Lagos ,all the towns amd cities around Lagos are Yoruba towns and cities,that indicates the territory has been occupied and people are already living in Lagos before the Benin People came to Lagos.. Another tribe can not own a small part in the middle of the territory of a different tribe. Two tribes can not own the same land The Benin people don't have any local goverment in Lagos either,all the local goverments im Lagos are Yoruba local goverments. That is the bottom line

The area is already a Yoruba territory. The Benin people can not jump into the middle of Yoruba territory from such a long distance where Benin is located to claim a small part in the middle of Yoruba territory .The Awori people are the Original owner of Lagos not the Benin people

    The owners and the inhabitants of the towns and cities surrounding Lagos explains clearly the original owners of Lagos

  • @RobbySyzing-mt4zo
    @RobbySyzing-mt4zo Před 11 měsíci

    If you want to know the original inhabitants and owners of a place,it is very simple,all you need to do is to find out the people in the towns and cities around the place.for example If you want to find out the original inhabitants and owners of Enugu,find out the people in the towns and cities around Enugu,if the people are Igbo people that means the original inhabitants and owners of Enugu are Igbo people.The next thing to find out to know the original owners of a place is the language.For example is difficult for the Yoruba people to say Enugu belongs to the Yoruba people when the people in the towns and cities around Enugu are Igbo people and when the people are speaking Igbo language.Other people can name a town,just like Nigeria was named by the British people and just like Benin was named with Yoruba languge.When you look at the towns and cities around Benin,you will find out that the people in the cities and towns around Benin are Edo people,it is impossible to own a small place inside the region surrounded by other people.The Yoruba people has been in Lagos and the surrounding of Lagos for two hundred years before the Benin people located Lagos.The first name of Lagos was Oko not Eko,the word Oko is a Yoruba and Awori word which means farm.Benin is very far from Lagos,but Ogun state,Epe and Ijebu are a stone throw to Lagos,it is impossible for the Benin people to jump into the middle of Yoruba land and say it belongs to them,all the towns and cities around Lagos are Yoruba towns and cities.The constitution of Nigeria confirmed Lagos as a Yoruba land,the politicians in Lagos are Yoruba people,all the local governments in Lagos are all Yoruba local governments,the Benin people do not have a single local government in Lagos .Fighting on line is not how to own a land,it is by legal means and by the constitution
