Hey Cameron, I like your break down.. It’s very well thought out! I run in your area.. Right now twin screw end dumps run for $130hr, when you made this video they were $115-$120ish How do you reconcile $20hr difference between a 5 yard and a 10 yard truck? I know there is some value in being able to squirrel in where my T800 can’t, but half the capacity is hard to ignore.. BTW, I was very tempted to buy that corn binder when you had it posted for sale a while back, just couldn’t bring myself to spend the money on another investment when Im already working 3 different jobs 🤪. Time is a fixed asset. Whether or not you sell your skid-steer depends on if "finding work for it" is the best use of your time, AND will generate the most per hour profit in total (finding the work, bidding the work, doing the work, and collecting for the work - VS - down-time for the machine - which you are still paying for - while you are finding, bidding, and collecting for the work). You MUST find a niche that you can dominate and focus all of your time exploiting that niche.

Tips for future videos -- 1. Take the dip k out of your mouth. You sound like have a mouth full of marbles. Think Nancy Pelosi. 2. Write larger on the white board.. 3. Hi I'm very new to this industry and I want to thank you for doing the video but I have to ask, as a solo operator I'm not getting anywhere near the numbers per year as you did if I only sign on say 20 accounts. I'm not understanding how you went from 50 per push to 750 for the entire season. Per push equals 1 pass correct? It seems you went from per push to per visit which is confusing. So if I do 3 passes per drive that comes to 150 per visit, right? Or am I not understanding correctly cause I'm only getting around $15000 total from 20 accounts for 15 visits at 50 per visit. Please help me understand how you got $33,365 from 750 a season. That's 47 accounts per season. How would 1 operator keep up with 47 accounts. That's 12ish hrs for just one visit per location per event.

So how do you come up with cost to deliver say a load of gravel or other materials? Cost per ton material and what’s added to that? Thanks

If you was to need to rent equipment for a job how would you quote that? would you just add the cost of the rental onto the top of the quote or what would be the best way to go about that?

I haul and pour concrete for $26/hr for a company. In my city I know dump truck drivers are getting like $32/hr as a few of my coworkers have left to go do that. I don't think charging 35 an hour on top of your baseline costs is unreasonable.

I found a big con to renting, especially as a new business starting out and trying to decide whether to buy or rent, was that in my area the machine wasn't always readily available to rent which made it even harder to line up jobs, therefor I opted to just buy right away and would never look back however machine availability probably greatly differs from town to town.

Also you should consider doing these on a spreadsheet with screen capture. It's hard to see your writing.

What if you get fewer or no snow events?

I only use equipment for snow removal. Renting seems to make the most sense for now. Maybe it will change in the future.

Good video man! I am just now getting started in the business and have been curious on good ways of bidding. Bought a brand new kubota skid paid for it up front. My truck is paid for. Trailer paid for, and I’ve got a mini x also. so I am hoping that I can make some good money off of it all. I’m thinking of trying to start a CZcams and just see if I can do anything with it.
