This song was my favorite when my 12 year old niece was battling brain cancer. We recorded it on cassette tape, singing the lyrics. My niece passed away before Christmas. My sister, her mom still has the cassette.

There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.

My foster son, who passed away in Melbourne, Australia in 1993, before his twenty-third birthday, would play this song on repeat until he would fall asleep. The lead singer, Alex Smith, put so much emotion into this song. Each time I hear it, I am close to tears. He seems to speak for TJ who, at the time, knew that he was terminally ill. Thank you so much for sharing this piece of Australian magic with the rest of the world.
