Book launch: Homer and the Bible Interwoven (Anna Lefteratou)
In The Homeric Centos (OUP, 2023) Dr Anna Lefteratou challenges scholars' consensus-does this reworking of Homeric style and words, possibly by poet-empress Eudocia, constitute biblical epic?
Anna is joined by Professor George van Kooten (Cambridge), Dr Daniel Weiss (Cambridge), Dr Emma Greensmith (Oxford) and Dr Aaron Pelttari (Edinburgh) to probe the significance and resonance of her detailed reexamination of this 5th-century interweaving.

Very beautiful and profound discourse pointing to God's immanence, or gentleness or beauty. But there is also God's transcendence, or majesty. So, logically, God is everywhere and nowhere. Again, the mind is at a loss, but God is still there. Truly, this seems to me, I say this with utmost humility, the gist of this saint's approach.
Wow! Amazing discussion. All participants well spoken, intelligent and informed on the subject, an absolute pleasure to listen to the entire session without interruption.
He's awesome actor as Eric!!!!!😀😀😀😁😁😁😁
Excellent presentation and Q & A, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.
Il mio amore ❤❤❤😍😍😍💘
This woman could be teaching at Hogwarts. (I mean that as a compliment. ) Very well presented and you’ve got to love the last name for a British professor. Thanks for posting.
It's my dream to study theology. I love him even more!
So talented and intelligent I really admire him. He also seems like a really geniuine person , that´s rare and nice
I wish there were more people like him. He seems like someone you could have a meaningful conversation about anything. As a young person myself, there aren’t a lot of people within my age group who you can have a meaningful and fulfilling conversation with.
Wow that’s very self aware of you. ♥️ sending love
I hear you! I’m like you as well. Although probably not as young as you, cuz i’m already 28. But yeah i’ve always been this way ever since I was a teenager. I’ve always been mentally and emotionally mature for my age, and let me tell you how challenging it was finding like-minded friends in highschool! But I thank God I found them! I’m not sure if my friends being from an Asian culture as well, like me, has made it easier for us to come together? But I find people from different culture who didn’t grew up in the West have the capacity to have a meaningful conversation with. Anyway, I pray u find ur crowd. God bless! 💕
He's so cute, excited for his come up <3
I LOVE YOU MY HUSBAND! You're doing great! I hope to see more projects from you ❤️
I still remember the backlash he received after being casted as Prince Eric. Many preferred Henry Cavill, Shawn Mendes, Matt Bomer and even Harry Styles. I'm glad they found him. He is the perfect Prince Eric and by far the best live action prince we ever had! ❤
Wow, there was backlash?? He’s a fantastic actor! He’s actually one of the reasons I really wanted to see the new film, because he did such a tremendous job in the movie, “Song of Names”. (First thing I ever saw him in - and boy did one of his scenes have me sobbing, it was so heartbreaking.) He’s got the acting chops and definitely deserves to be Prince Eric! 🙂
I’m so glad he got cast as Prince Eric. Love his song! I can’t wait to see what else he does
@@alexandrialeonora6542 Simply because he's relatively unknown. Same with Halle (apart from other stuff.) Fans wanted someone famous, but look at the movie! Casting new faces gives us a new flavor.
I think they all go through that if ever they get an iconic role and they aren't big household names. I can surely remember the backlash Henry Cavill got when he was first casted as Superman. And now everyone aches for him. I think Jonah is amazing. Thank god Harry Styles turned down the role.
I stan an actor AND an academic ❤
Fun fact... Jonah in the Bible is someone who sails away and gets in trouble with a sea creature. Perfect casting, huh?
Oh my word, yes!!
Please cast him Hollywood
GOD BLESS EVERYONE ❤❤
He truly is a Prince... 💜
Cada vez que me entero algo más de él.... Termino así 😍😍😍😍.... Él es el hombre que toda mujer quiere alcanzar ❤
Absolutely ❤️😍my love .
Whew he is my crush🥺💗
Yes
Very cool ❤
We need more of him!
Yes!!
Que hombre tan hermoso
❤
This is our Eric ❤
❤❤❤❤
So interesting. He is a fantastic actor and I never knew he went to Cambridge! Damn! Brain as well!
GOD!!!! HE IS SUCH A CUTIE PIE 😊❤
As a Cambridge student myself it feels so good to see JONAH ( Prince Eric🥰) giving an interview about his student life 😭🤩
Thank you for this interview! Love to see ambition in my favorite actors!
And when I think he can't get any better...he gets better. Love this man! So proud of him, such an amazing Eric, definitely my Eric in screen :)
He's so sweet and charming😊
Woahh
It’s amazing to know that an actor on the other hand is also a deep thinker who is interested in and completed the study of theology and religion. I think that's very rare and fascinating. I wish him continued success and continue to inspire his fans to spread goodness for humanity ❤️
He did philosophy?! I didn't know it was possible to love this man any more ❤
This was great. Very engaging throughout.
RIP, Dr Davison.
Thank 🥰🙏🏽
Absolutely beautiful...I come from an Eastern tradition but could appreciate this as here faith is just in that waiting and longing to 'know' form or formless.
Gracias por la presentación. Estoy muy contento de aprender sus conceptos y propuestas. En efecto, la religión es un componente de las culturas y civilizaciones. Las religiones juegan un rol importante en el mundo e inciden en las conductas colectivas.
This is very interesting, thank you.
Thank you.
excellent video..
Really interesting ☺️☺️but I honestly love these British accents.🏴🇬🇧
This is really clear and has helped me to think about the modules on the course! They all sound genuinley interesting. Thanks very much!
Very helpful thank you.
Ahhh omggg Jonah is playing Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid live action eeee I'm obsessed, I'm a Theology student at King's College London btwww
This was just so spectacular. Thank you so very much Dr. Catherine Pickstock. We studied St Anselm as part of my A-Level course and this shows that the A-Level goes into quite little detail of God being ‘that than which nothing great can be conceived’. I particularly loved your thinking of all faith is faith linked to understanding God. I feel I have been enlightened! Thank you so very much.
This is such a fantastic video - it really reflects the true message of Christianity to me. Thank you so much Dr Ruth!
This video was shot in the Cambridge Central Mosque, the first eco-mosque project in Europe which is a brainchild of Professor Tim himself. czcams.com/video/pFFBp4mJKpI/video.html
Thank you Dr Winter, excellent explanation ! Simple and concise ! May God bless you🙌
very imressive, Dr Walsh
Thank you for sharing this very interesting talk by an important scholar!
