Thanks for making this timeline. After watching Netflix about this case. I was looking for more answers. But most videos on this case are in another language so thanks again. I also believe the couple was guilty. I just can not imagine being charged with murdering my own daughter and sentenced to 18 years in prison without some sort of emotional outrage? Some sort of outburst of innocence remarks. I just could not let someone accuse me of a crime I did not commit without putting up a fight. I just do not understand it 🤷🏾‍♀️. But one statement in the movie made a whole lot of sense to me… “the parents are covering up a bigger secret. What the parents were hiding was worse than being convicted of murder.” Even after the mother committed suicide, the father would rather finish his sentence to prove his innocence than overturning his conviction or blaming everything on the mother??? It just doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

I knew about this case 8 years ago, very sad destiny for Asunta.

wow the netflix series sucks then. It didn't mentioned the most horrific part: the messages Asunta send to a friend telling her parents were trying to kill her. The series tried to be "unbiased" in a case that obviously is conclusive. The motive may be unclear, but it's obvious both parents were guilty If I had to guess I would agree with the se,ual ab*se thing. Mostly because of the p*rn material found... I mean... having that type of images of youn asian women while your adopted daughter is asian... just red flags all across the board. Creepy af

The sexual motivation is possible but still unclear. To start with the evidence seems obvious, don't get me wrong, from a lay person's perspective you take it all and it's hella creepy, but is still inconclusive if you are more strict the way investigators had to be. They did pursue that line of inquiry at the beginning. However for many reasons the leads wouldn't take anywhere. Those images can be taken to be suggestive and bordering on erotic, but they don't cross the line in a sufficiently obvious way. The movie depicts how these images can be relatively normal if more context is added. Tired/sleepy teenager flopping on a sofa after her ballet show, refusing to allow her parents to take a proper pic of her outfit. Clearly the father was hiding something in his laptop, but it could be simply he didn't want it to be known that he used p*rn. These people cared a lot about the most shallow levels of reputation, even when it was public knowledge that they were suspects. They could possibly have drugged her for other reasons, for instance that the girl's behaviour was annoying to them, and/or they wanted to be rid of her for a few hours to do other things, like what happened to Madeleine McCann. The father's DNA was also found in her underwear, but because it was not from semen it was hard to prove that it wasn't from ordinary handling (laundry, folding, putting away in the drawer, etc.) As for "torturing" her... Well, drugging her and gaslighting her, and the previous murder attempt completely qualifies as torture imo, but the way you mention it makes it sound like there was additional physical abuse. There was never that final evidence necessary to connect these dots. Finally and most importantly, although the available circumstantial evidence seems to strongly suggest some kind of sexual impropriety (even in the absence of conclusive enough evidence), it might be additional to the case without it being the reason for the crime. As in that was happening and the investigation was beginning to reveal it, but they decided to take her life for other reasons.
