How (not!) to fix a free rain barrel ! Lol. tip # 6
Mouse ears at the ends will fix the lifting - if your bed is truly clean. You also need better cooling. You can achieve better cooling by either lowering your print speed whilst lowering the print temperature, adding a better nozzle for your printfan, getting a better fan or more or all of the above - alternatively crank up print speed or print several iterations in parallell so the hotend doesn't always linger over the object keeping it molten like that. You also seem to be over extruding a bit. The orientation of the part seems sound to me. You could even model it so that it has a flat base and the actual axle "flutes" start a few lines up (on top of two straight single line width layers on top of the flat base) to insure it prints correctly and accounts for any dimensional inaccuracies due to elefant foot and first layer squish etc. Removing the base should be fairly easy once the print is done.
Thanks, I use hardware cloth
@@ejRecording did it work? It has lots of spikes where you cut?
@@TheRainHarvester haven't done this particular job for my 99 Tacoma yet but worked for everything else just fine, 12$ for a big roll at Home Depot 👍👍
Print it like an X, lying on two edges.
Great idea!!!!
I tried 3 times like that, but only 1 stuck. I think the rapids from one spoke to the other causes warping off the bed. I even did 18x18 auto bed leveling.80C/ 235C petG.
Trying again with bed at 85C. 1st one stuck...2nd one going well so far....
2 printed fine. The 3rd failed on 1st layer. Not enough extrusion on that first layer. Exacerbated by switching from one spoke to the next= failed to stick.
Trying another batch of 5 "one-at-a-time". Let's see how many print before failing..... 235C & 85C:
cut off the 4th nub on the bottom, so the floating nubs ones can sit flat on the bed...works the same with just 3
Can you describe more?( I don't understand what nubs are)
@@TheRainHarvesterthey're suggesting to make the model a 3 sided T rather than a 4 sided +. But I think an easier way to consider would be printing the model rotated 45 degrees so it sits on the plate like an X. You might have to clean up the base a bit afterwards but the overall print should be much more consistent since there's no longer a fully vertical overhang
I was suggesting to do it with 3 sides like a upside down t shape. it was worked for me 45 degrees printed like an x shape may work but u may have to chamfer bottom so your don't have just 2 single edges touching the build plate. cuz that may not be enough bed adhesion
Ooh! I see know. Thanks! Does only 3 spokes bend or flex under loads? Great idea!
so why not vertically
It would snap easier when bent. The layer lines do not adhere as well. But i underestimated this machine so i should try it anyway! Give this parent comment a like if y'all want to see an attempt....

That’s awesome! I got a big box of generic legos for my kids a Christmas or two ago and they loved it. It’d be neat to be able to make different pieces…
The 56 tooth gear only uses 13 cents of plastic. I should eBay these!
(The 56 tooth gear works amazingly well. On the previous video.)
Nice! Many parameters to tweak though, I believe the result could be better
I'm New at this. Opposite corners of the horizontally printed overhangs sag, but the rest does not. Maybe a lower temperature on nozzle? I'm at 235C on petG with cura slicer. 0.12 resolution. 50mm/s. BTW -I use "horizontal expansion" of 0.12mm and 6mm "horz max diameter expansion", but those are for holes. I don't like the way cura linearly scales the holes from size 0 to 6mm. I want an option for all the holes under 6mm to be scaled equally. (The small holes get modified if i increase "horz max diameter expansion " to include bigger holes i forgot a trial 1st print. It's annoying!)
First layer is the most important layer.
Yes! But the roughness was on the top (last layers).

Those were some cool tips, and I wouldn't have thought about making the connecting elbows angled like that!
Whoa, it's like a pipe tapeworm!
Best method i seen yet. Im glad i clicked your video.

I would like to know how you install your fittings that don’t leak. I spend too much on bulkheads. I have simply screwed a brass spigot into a 3/4” hole , but had to get back in there with some silicone and a nut.
I use a tool called a tap. They create the threaded socket for a particular diameter and thread count per inch. It takes practice and a perfectly straight plunge. I still use teflon.
After struggling with one of those soldering iron style plastic welders, I finally got out my micro torch. Fixed the wheelbarrow. Didn’t have to be pretty.
Wow i didn't know that would work!
There! I knew I recognized the hill country! Enjoying your videos.
My rocky land is becoming fertile! I'm even planting in my pathways. The videos on leaves explain everything!!
Now I know why I saved those bike tubes!
Exactly! They are very useful!
I’m getting a big tank soon and will give this a try. Smart! I do wonder what that thing-walled pvc is…
Its another piece of pipe...thin walled pipe. I cut it with a bandsaw (to make the "o" shape into a "c" shape).
Don't leave paper towel in your truck. They made a four handful size nest behind my 07 Taco glove box. Thankfully no wire damage that I could see. And yes, they will munch on all things rubber and plastic.
Thank you for your video especially about threading the 2 plastic mechanisms. Also spraying the cord with clear silicone spray will help with any friction with the cord & blind. I replaced both cords and I am having trouble getting the blinds to retract. Any suggestions?
Is the spring mechanism still (correctly) trying to rewind? If not, you may need to wind it again.
@@TheRainHarvester same problem here... the rod came out of the other spool as I was disassembling and I heard it unwind and it clearly lost the tension. I spun the rod through the tensioner to rewire the spools and bring the blind to the top. Was hoping that would wind it up again but did not. Any ideas how to properly do this? There is a little CW symbol with arrows to show direction to spin the rod, so I assume this can be done.
Nobody else in the world uses the term "dupont".

Congrats!!! I can only imagine how much hard work you put into it.
That’s pretty dangerous
Does the microwave radiation taste good?
Very hot!
Your simulations have potential for something I'm working on, for people to visually try out hypothesis on simulations. Do you like the idea of simulating physics with people in an open collaboration? In return, you can potentially get free computer hardware or graphics if you've been wanting more computational power to simulate stuff for your own needs, as long as you'd be freeing all of the collaborative work + results as open source.
I have a mouse going into my Honda Civic 's air filter and it's driving me insane. This will 100% work? I think I need to have a mechanic do something?
Beautiful repair! I have a suggestion though..... I used 'aluminum' gutter grating, won't ever rust. I used powerful rare-earth magnets to hold it in place. No drilling or glue, just 10 seconds to apply magnets. I would truly hate to meet the mighty mouse who can remove those magnets!
Good idea on the aluminium. What is the diameter of the magnets?
I bought 1-inch diameter wafer mags on ebay and stacked them 3-high. I used 24 magnets but you might be able to use less. With mice I figure more is best.@@TheRainHarvester
If speed of light is extremely fast, how does it cause time dilation for example, if a person were to travel to Mars from Earth at the speed of light the journey would be much quicker, now that’s where I’m confused?
как же долго и нудно... капец
Did you finish it?
I did. But the cost of quail food rose so much, that it doesn't make sense to raise them unless i grow their food! Currently in using it as a nice shady dry spot for lumber, tools, and me. It also collects rainwater.
Can't you get cancer from that!??
That's the same way I reconciled the apparent contradiction for myself. A short way of stating the resolution is that the light emanating from a moving observer actually makes slower gains on the observer (e.g., as measured by another observer), but the observer cannot observe that because they measure with slowed down time. If the observer could increase their speed to the speed of light, the observer's time would freeze and the light emanating from them could not make any gains at all anymore. FWIW, I wonder whether the notion of not being able to determine which of two reference frames is in motion (as motion can only be defined relatively) is a theoretical concept only. In our universe, we have the cosmic background radiation which we could use to determine whether we are moving relative to the regular expansion of space, couldn't we?
Exactly. No one has brought up any of the 2 items i alluded to in the description, so I'll spoil one of them: bwl = backward light How does this effect work when the light is emitted in the opposite direction of travel? Now, the light would seem to travel very very very fast, not at C. I have an idea using round trip of light to actually know the light has been emitted, but it's complicated.
Nice
It's about that time! I'm about to pop seeds for this year. I had insomnia last night and, one of the topics that floated through my head was our conversation about your worm station. This comment is going to seem random to anyone who passes by but, I wanted to make sure that you see it. Two big factor for success are air and moisture level. If you decide to go in-ground or if you create a closed system, above or below, I suggest figuring out a way to drain lechate and a way to occassionally get air throughout the bed from the jump. I've looked through your videos and, can't find the bit showing the tree pots. If you know the specific title I'd be happy to have a look. Good luck with this years planting. Looks like there will be more cold blasts coming.
czcams.com/users/shortsFLxHmyCYeUs?si=WmzaCmu3isqB6yAx Is anyone finding it difficult to type comments on CZcams? My phone keyboard always locks up for a minute. Is this a way of suppressing comments?

Sir ! you have just taken my uni. project from beginner to GigaChad
good video helped me a lot
Thank you for the great video.
Thanks for the video. However, I am a bit sceptical. Would be interesting to know if the roots haven't come back yet?? I used plastic sheets on top of nutgrass and it penetrated through the plastic in no time. I tried a strong woven weedmat (GrowRite HD 100 gsm) on top of a thick layer of cardboard + newspaper inside my raised garden bed and the roots were back within a few months.
I have no roots in any beds but one. That one i accidentally pierced with tomato cages by poking them down through the plastic. Still less roots than before. Now i use tomato cages upside down and i bend the pokers into a single piece of pvc to avoid poking eyes. I never had luck with woven weed barriers. I don't let the sun touch the plastic. Very careful when digging. Very little digging is necessary.
I'm not sure if your weed mat went up the sides, but roots will go up and over weed barriers. I put the plastic up the sides and cover with leaves or thin soil to monitor any trying to infiltrate.
6:25 That’s actually around 4mm, not 1mm. The vast majority of DuPont contacts need a strip length of 4mm±0.5mm. The thickness of the SN-28B dies is 7mm, for context. The insulation diameter of your 22AWG wire is probably 1.5-1.7mm.
So I followed your instructions but my spring mechanisms are unwound and won't wind again! Now what do i do?
At 4:26 it describes the winding of the cylinders. They just take up slack. They don't apply winding tension. Those 2 white blocks in the middle apply the winding tension. If those unwound, you have to somehow turn them so they are woundup tight when the cord is fully extended.
finally this is exactly what i needed thank you for posting this video it mhelped me make some progress lol.
