Hunt elk every year and got the 6.8 with the intention of swapping over. Not easy in my mind because 300 WSM has 3 bulls down over 450 yds. One at 670 although I don’t think I want to repeat that. That being said, in short, swap complete. complete. Everything you said, yup.

    You bring up an interesting point. It's one more technological advantage put onto a growing pile of them. It's similar to bow sights that range and tell you where to aim. It's basically a crutch for a poor hunter. Ideally, everyone should have to learn the hard way.....by becoming a good hunter and not relying on their technological do-dads. It's called fair chase.

  • @mrawesomnable
    @mrawesomnable Před 8 dny

    I think we as hunters should stick together. Average hunter is getting older and older every year and if we allow things like this to break us apart we can easily be the last generation that has the opportunity to hunt in the first place.

    You are free to feel however you like about location marking technology and I understand the concern you've expressed about the unfair advantage it might provide in stalking and chase. But unless you're into purely primitive hunting, the sport is overwhelmed by technological advantages. compound bows, carbon fiber arrows, optical sites, advanced camouflage, VHF radios, Gore-Tex fabric, tree stands, range finding (in general), firearms, gps, night vision optics, drones, etc... All of these are used in hunting and provide significant tactical advantages over natural prey. Seems pretty weird to worry about this one thing but none of the others. Pin dropping technology provides significant positive aspects to hunting. It increases hunter safety by helping users navigate unfamiliar terrain and find their way back to base or to safety points. It also provides significant ethical improvements in wounded animal location, an ethical concern we should all share.

    • @Recruitcreative
      @Recruitcreative Před 8 dny

      All valid points! I felt a bit hypocritical in only bringing up the rangefinder and cell cams. At the end up the day it’s up to the hunter to decide what they are comfortable with or not so banning these probably isn’t the right move. I think as hunters it’s our responsibility though to ask these questions when products like these are released. I want the next generation of hunters to at least consider fair chase and ethics before making a decision. That’s where I’m coming from. Thanks again for the well educated comment though. We appreciate the feedback!

    • @BrettMcNary
      @BrettMcNary Před 6 dny

      Learn how to hunt instead of relying on tech to hold your hand in the woods. Many of the things you mentioned are illegal for hunting in Colorado. Radios, drones, etc all illegal for use in hunting. It's not fair chase and to many real conservationists, it's borderline unethical. If you need tech to keep you "safe", maybe hunting isn't for you.

    No. You can do this with an app on your iPhone etc. what’s your point? So you’re saying it’s not ETHICAL to simply mark where you’re objective’s at which you can do without the rangefinder. Do you not use technology in the clothes you wear, the food you eat, the pack you use etc. It’s just marketing and at the end of the day, you still have to hunt and make it happen! CHEERS!

    • @Recruitcreative
      @Recruitcreative Před 8 dny

      I agree that those other technology’s are a benefit, but I think that this one is taking it a step too far. We have become immune to these advances and I think it’s worth asking the question. Thanks for commenting and good luck this season!

    Just purchased the tundra haul this thing will last me for years! I purchase my first yeti cooler in 2014 and still working perfectly fine no issues. The problem with the cheap coolers is they only last couple of summers if that.
