You could sure tell that Daddy did not 😢like hearing his little girl getting a bath!😮 This is the shortest bath video l have ever seen. Hopefully daddy will get use to Ellie crying out it's not only healthy it's there only means of cimmunication .😢 Daddy toughen up and get some hueveros . We all know what that means right???😅❤

What happen to the soap and water? Only a wet wash cloth? Not really a bath. Beautiful baby though.
Beautiful baby 🥰, congratulations Mom and Dad. I do have to comment on the little one’s care. Nothing like 2-3 blankets keeping you warm while you get your head and hair washed and with head wet take back to bed ? to “whip all the swaddle off” strip down for a sponge bath. I would protest too. That is cold. Get them in a bath, or have family bring in a bath, or forget the bath and just wash hair today and leave vernix on. It is a natural skin protectant. Doesn’t hurt to leave that on for a few days. Baby has been in a warm environment and nurses so concerned about baby’s heat loss then this happens.

I hate these half wet half dryclean bathes they give the babies...put enough soap on them wash them properly and put them in a basin of water to rinse. I know this is 9 years ago but so many babies get washed with these huge face cloths with hadly any soap on. Thats not a proper bath. Wash with a soft soapy sponge and rinse well in the basin. These babies have just passed through the birth canal 'vigina' and is definately not clean...needs a good bath.

No tub baths until the cord has dried up and fallen off in 1-2 weeks. Soap is not needed, only shampoo on the head to remove vernix and blood.

She is not being rough. Rubbing with the washcloth stimulates circulation, breathing, and heart rate. It is done for a reason. The nurses know what they’re doing.

The more I see this bullshit “bath”, the more it looks like bullshit.
The baby is hungry! You can tell from her actions! Her mouth movements, rooting, etc. Why can't they feed the baby first, then give a bath? She shouldn't have to cry like that. First things first, cuddle with Mom, keep warm, no bright lights, suckle from breast when ready, etc. Then, perhaps a day or two later, worry about the bath! ALL newborns should get a chance to suckle first, from the breast, even if they go on to bottle feeding. They need that colostrum. Geez! its not like they are born covered in poison and must get that cleaned ASAP!
I agree with you. Baby's stomach must full first before bath. It'll avoid any screaming and tantrum.

Newborns don’t need to feed right away because their stomachs are still full of amniotic fluid. They cry due to overstimulation from a new environment, not from hunger.

When the nurses talk to the baby, sympathizing with them, it seems to make a difference. The babies, though crying, don't seem afraid. I like the way this father let his little daughter know that he was there.
Scarlet8 Select I’m a nurse and always encourage the father to talk to the newborn while filming. The baby will recognize his voice and will stop crying.
@@rlms56 I truly appreciate your comments, as I am sure you see the sarcastic comments from some nurses and others who insist that the nurses' job is not to coddle or comfort the little ones. How much common sense does it take to realize that we should all be concerned about the tender and kind treatment of little infants, as well as other patients too. How often are you able to get the fathers involved in this process? Do you agree with me that when the nurses do show some compassion for the infants, that the babies are calmer and the entire process goes better. It is so refreshing to speak to someone like yourself who is on the inside and can share more about what works and does not work.
Scarlet8 Select actually that baby cried during the whole supposed “bath”. Babies are scared and annoyed when sponge bathed, no matter how much you talk to them. I cannot blame them. Who would like to be scratched like that instead....Instead of being nicely submerged in warm and cosy water with gentle touch? A good example of how newborn shall be bathed, is provided by Japanese nurses in Japanese hospitals. They know how to give a stress free real bath to newborns! And Japanese parents do to, taught by nurses.
@@italiani41 You have truly taught me something today, as I was unaware of how the Japanese nurses attend their newborns. I agree that the infants are afraid and annoyed, as they have been in a safe environment for 9 months with protection, and no worries. Suddenly they are thrust into this cruel, uncaring world with all of these noisy, talkative people scurrying about and bothering them. Thanx for that example.
@@italiani41 A good example of how newborns should be bathed, is the way the nurse has been taught. The kid will scream and cry, no matter how it gets washed.
