I first saw this movie in the late 80's, on HBO. I was in College and in a rough marriage with a controlling man; like Molly's husband is. I fell in love with this movie. Now own it on DVD! I couldn't believe that Amazon had this awesome movie. The first week I owned it, I played it 14 times...😂 Funny how a movie I saw in 1986, stayed in my memory, as I could never forget this movie, until I bought it in 2005. Wow! That's how deeply this movie touched me.😊❤ Thanks for this cool video....all the highlights!

That moment with her and DeNiro in the Deer Hunter is a powerful scene because of what is not said - you take in the moment and read into what has happened and how this 5 minute scene tells how neither of these people are going to be the same ever again. Great acting.

That Spears song is awfully annoying yet I listened to it in horrified fascination....:) Its nearly as bad as that Shania song, Man, I'm Feel Like A Woman...I'm unable to stomach that one...:)

That scene with Streep and DeNiro is just so powerful, even standing by itself. I saw this movie in the theaters- I am about the same age as these actors- and just tucked it away. Too emotional to watch again maybe? I thought it was one of the best movies i had seen at that time with its two part structure. And I had seen all of classic Hollywood, the indie films of the sixties and early seventies and all the European directors. It was the first time I saw Meryl Streep act. It was clear she was something else.

Ive seen once this movie when i was a kid and had no idea who any of the actors were.... lately I've been trying to find the movie again but i didn't know the title nor their names ...i thought i remembered Antonio banderas but when i searched on Google his movies list there was no trace of this movie....so i thought maybe it was someone else looking like Antonio...i stopped searching about the movie until today i had a flashback of what the father looked like and i tried to hold that image while searching old American actors list and as soon as i saw Jeremy irons picture i knew it was him so i searched his movies list and here i am now ... Feeling so satisfied for finding the movie Btw jeremy iron was in a page that listed actors who are considered ugly and i think that's so unfair....he is very handsome in my opinion

I've loved this movie since I first rented it over five years ago (thank God for Netflix's eccentric selection). It's so wise and accurate about many supernatural senses and gifts. The main character I relate to in so many ways and later I relate to Blanca as well. I'm in love with irons for sure til I hate him with the exact same reaction in mind as Clara. Clara, to me, has the wrong face and Winona's a little off as well, likely having golden hair with so many blonde relatives. Still, I relate a lot. I've never seen characters I could relate to this much til I saw this movie. It made me want to try living in this place that perhaps would understand me. (South America). I never think of now or anything but my love of this movie when I watch it, it's pure beauty, wisdom, love and it's realistic. Clara in an INFP in her most natural state in this movie.

Meryl Streep in Sophie's Choice is the greatest performance ever on screen by an actress. But let's also consider Bette Davis in Jezebel and 'Vivien Leigh in A Street Car named Desire. These 3 actresses were equally brilliant in these movies.
