here we go. Your stock cfmoto z950 ho ex has the same adjustments as a stage 5 Elka does. Are you using it? I'll breakdown each adjust and how I set it up for a high speed trail. The results just may surprise you. It might even save you thousands of $$$. There's a lot of variables that come in to play. One size doesn't fit all, for sure. Weight is a huge factor on the preload. There's tons of adjust, the bad is that it's only roughly 10" of travel.

    Thank you so much for posting tis video! My 2501 just startied doing the very same thing, and i was about to start playing wit the cable tension, assuming it has stretched or slipped and needed adjusting, but after an onlin search, it was obvious that this is a VERY common issue with these tractors. I love my Kubota mini ex. and tractor and have had VERY few issues with either, but the design for this PTO switch seems very "Mickey mouse" and poorly designed, for a piece of outdoor equipment that is subject to the weather, dust, vegetative clippings, etc. Hopefully Kubota comes to their senses and upgrades this design, to something that doesn't resemble a low end, lawnmower throttle cable! Thanks again for taking your time to post this, I'm sure that itt will help many others down the road! All the best!

    I was hopeful this would work for me, but on my L2900 GST. My PTO was engaging/disengaging properly until a few days ago when the cable broke. I ordered and replaced the cable and there is no binding when I go from engage/disengage, I lubricated the spring and area where the lever goes into the ?transmission? case, but regardless the PTO remains engaged. I guess I'll have to just be careful when I have my brush hog connected... ugh.

    The top bolts on the back shocks, can I get them from underneath or do I have to pull the seats and remove the back cover? I'm bottoming out in deep whoops, mainly the rear. Got my high speed all the way tight, rebound all the way loose and haven't touched the low speed yet. I do notice the side to side floating you mentioned and the rear squatting on acceleration. Gonna tighten up the low speeds. Had a wildcat that bottomed out the same way. Cranked the preload down half inch and it solved it. Thanks for the reply. Mostly do fast aggressive trail riding. Tires are at 9-10 psi

    • @ironheadbiker
      @ironheadbiker Před 2 měsíci

      I was able to reach everything from the floor underneath. And yes, the low speed affects more than you would think as well. Also with the side to side wandering, don't be afraid to run in for wheel drive. With both rear tires locked in, as soon as they spin, they want to "pass", skidding or spinning tires will choose a side because they're faster than a tire that's got traction. You'll be amazed at the control you gain in having the 4x4 in. Think rally car. As your rear tires spin the front will pull you to keep you straight.

    • @ironheadbiker
      @ironheadbiker Před 2 měsíci

      It can been done on the machine, but tricky. I took mine off, just a bolt on top and bottom. Lift the machine and get the weight off. You need good spanner wrenches, not the cheap tool kit one. I used a ratchet strap to compress the spring to take the pressure off of the top retaining nut. Clean the threads as best you can, loosen the locking nut and then spin the lower nut down. Measure the lowest part of the nut to the top of the spring to make sure both sides get adjusted the same. It can be done on the machine, but it's tough to get a wrench up in there. If you try to do it while it's on the machine, put the ratchet strap on the springs while it's sitting on the ground, then when you lift the machine, the tension will already be relieved. When you release the ratchet, make sure the spring is seated properly in the stopper nut.

    Best method I have found is to do all of your trim mowing around stuff, trees, bushes, whatever else, with a standard mower or zero turn, make the ends of your runs to where you have enough room to circle around with out stopping or backing up with the finish mower. When you start trying to back up and mow around stuff with the tractor it starts eating up time where the smaller machine will be more maneuverable. The tractor and finish mower will power through more grass in my experience so you can mow a little less often in an open field.

      Great to hear. Yeah I've received so many positive results on such a wide variety of kubota tractors, you'd think they would do a service bulletin or something. So easy to fix, but heart stopping when it 1st happens

    Tried with my 2024 but it's different, so I can't get into calibration mode.

      Sadly its just with the specific speedo like mine, but I'm positive each speedo has their own sneaky way of getting to the settings, but it's a lot of trial an error trying to figure it out.

    Awesome video. Thanks for the content. I’m about to buy a tractor and considering a finish mower. I own a big$ zero turn so I’m in the decision stage.

    Had replace mine but still does the same thing. Have to mess with it until it disengages. It’s a horrible design.

      Did you spray way up under and rock it back and forth with your hand where it goes into the casing? I guess I'm curious what you replaced?

      Glad I helped. Yeah I made my own pins out of some rebar, it's worked great since, but yeah, that design is horrible.

      @ironheadbiker my sales person was trying to sell me the BB12 but I didn't like the looks of those clips. Glad I seen your video. I'll upgrade to the bb15 series. They have the pins.

    Was it low gear with all 4 wheels on?

    • @ironheadbiker
      @ironheadbiker Před 4 měsíci

      No sir, just low and the rear wheels with power. The front were mostly off the ground. I think the big set back with the uforce is that the rear are always locked in. That's tough on the rear diff. I was on dirt so the strain wasn't so bad, but the turf mode like polaris would be much better for hauling this kind of weight I just wanted to experiment.

    How long and how long of stoke did you buy for the deflector?

    • @ironheadbiker
      @ironheadbiker Před 4 měsíci

      Check my *48 video, I go into detail about the actuator. But it's 12" eye to eye when closed with a 5" stroke.

    Thank you for a great video. I have a ZForce 800 Trail and just today I was in town riding by the school and they have the radar thing that flashes your speed. The sign said I was going 15 and my speedo said 20. I need to look into this more.

    • @ironheadbiker

      Yeah there are so many different speedo clusters out there, they all have access to settings, but it's a well kept secret as to how.

      Glad it helped! I don't think I've ever felt the relief I felt going from "this is gonna be expensive" to, "well that was simple" like I did when I figured out the cause.
