They were originally going to make Steve sooooo much worse (he was gonna r pe Nancy) but they changed it up when Joe Keery auditioned and his charm won them over. You can at the beginning he is friendly yet full of himself. It’s after the whole Jonathan taking pictures situation that cause Steve to grow more into a douchebag.

That happened way ahead in season 3. This is season 1. And no, Jonathan would not lose to tommy of all people. I'd say Nancy's character did make sort of a comeback when she became a badass in the last season, but I agree the way Jonathan's character fell off is a crime.

Nancy carries Jonathans character. I didn’t like her in the first season but she undoubtedly has changed dramatically and cared for her friends.

@@UndeadItachi2 Jonathan's love and dedication to Will in the 1st season was what made him so endearing imo. He was this unflinching older brother that at no point gave up on his lil bro. Then he became a stoner dude. Like who thought that was the correct direction for him lol

well this show was specifically made to target children similar to goosebumps, but this has less horror / mature topics and more high school musical level drama

Probably not children with the amount of goreish/strong language but maybe teenagers
