Ok, I already know I left a big ass comment, but I wanted to just state something. We probably won’t get anything relating to DMC that’s crazy good (POC ain’t it) until the new anime comes out since Itsuno’s working on that.

They should deadass make a Sparda game. Playing through his rebellion against Mundus would be awesome since it’s never specified what kind of Demons he fought or where he fought them in the Underworld, so they would have a lot of creative freedom for character designs and environment designs. But even if they don’t do that then they should just make a DMC3 remake. I don’t think people really realize how easy of a remake that would be to pull off (at least conceptually, I’m not saying it would be easy at all to make). Just give Dante his Style switching and being able to swap through all of his weapons and call it a day. I know that you brought up in this video that Vergil and Lady should be integrated into the story better through gameplay if there ever is a DMC3 remake, but unfortunately from everything we see what they do while we’re being a crazy spider monkey as Dante is just kinda…boring? Lady’s climbing the tower half of the time and Vergil’s mostly just walking with Arkham. I’m not saying it’s not impossible, but I just don’t get how they could do it properly. I do actually quite like the idea though. It would probably make the player feel a lot more connection to Lady and Vergil when you eventually fight them as Dante. Sorry for the long ass paragraph lol, just wanted to share my thoughts on the idea.

Mundus' story was never completed. He was just sealed away. DMC6 would complete the series by having the squad face off again him one final time. Bring back all the ladies. Trish, Lady, and Lucia as DLC campaigns following their paths throughout the story. Which leads into key scenes of the main game. As Trish is usually the intel gathering character most of the time. Even the canon anime she was usually doing that. Ending with Dante, Lady, Trish being their branch of the DMC business. While Vergil, Nero, Nico and Lucia being Nero's branch. Vergil fighting side by side with his son. Then, during the story, we learn about Nero's mother. Who she was, whether Vergil loved her or not. Not saying she's alive but getting a conclusion to that story. Ending it with a cameo by Patty from the anime and everyone avoiding her 21st birthday party. There's that Abagail demon from the anime that wasn't actually killed but rather separated from the lesser demon in the anime. Abigail releasing Mundus and teaming up just to obviously try and betray him. Make Abagail the main boss for the ladies. DMC5's original Ending with the brothers in hell and we see Vergil lighten up a bit. The SE kinda messed thar up by trying to make Vergil his old self. Keep the original ending Vergil with him becoming more casual in how he carried himself but maintaining that more serious edge. Meeting Kyrie and possibly his grandson. Trying to be a family man but struggling. Like how Vegeta in DBZ was still the serious one compared to Goku but still a polar opposite of Goku like he was in DBZ. Vegeta became more involved with his family and obliviously bring a better father than Goku. Who just left that up to green people. Ending the series with them basically becoming a family both by blood and found. Maybe for fun, have Vergil make comment how he finds it weird that Lady has a crush on Dante. It's hinted in the anime she kinda does. Of course, having Vergil address how Trish looks like their mother. Having a solem buy wholesome moment of reflection for him. His entire reason for seeking power was because of how helpless he felt during the attack on the mansion. Which is hinted but not overtly stated. Dante and Vergil talked about how they didn't like their parents being mad at them in DMC5. With Dante basically calling Vergil a mamma's boy. Saying he always cried when she was angry with him. It'd be a nice wrap to the Spards family story. Honestly, Sparda himself and what happened doesn't matter. His legacy left in his sons and grandson is just perfect as it is. The mystery of Sparda is part of what made the brothers and Nero's story so great. He's their legacy. Long surpassing him. There really isn't a need to reveal anything more.

Speaking about DMC6, i need to say that i feel DMC5 like final bow, and that's why DMC6 can never be released. But i got one idea for a plot: several years has passed, Nero and Kirie married and waiting for a baby. But Kirie got ill, because of demonical power of her child. Nero decide to find Vergil and Dante for help. So he, Trish and Lady go to the remains of Themin'gru (tower from dmc3) to open portal. In the demonical world they searching for twins, then searching how to save Kirie and all goes back. And the final scene: Vergil taking his newborn grandson on hands, he feels so much emotions at the same time that, after decades, he drops tears on baby. The final sentence maybe too comely, but i feel it like a huge dot in Vergil's way back

I think DMC3 is too ideal to be remaked. Much more i'd like to see DMC remake, even more than DMC6. I want fight with Vergil to be much more emotional and tragic (maybe till Dante's tears), boss-fight with Trish, normal final Mundus form and (it's just my idea) test of mechanic of pair combos in the last battle to implement it later in DMC6

I think dmc1 does kind of need a remake mainly the camera and a bit better story telling but I don't think it's too big of a thing ide rather dmc 6 more than remakes I don't think dmc 3 needs a remake though.

I can't speak for everyone but I really have never felt that remakes are needed, and especially not for DMC, which is even more important as a series today given the oversaturated yet underdeveloped gaming market of 2024. What we need is further innovation in the genre. For every click bait game like Stellar Blade there is a Hi-Fi Rush, but generally speaking, the character action game as we know it is gone, at least in terms of new games. But you don't need "new" games when the "old" games are fresh. People seemed to have really enjoyed RE4R but we forget that RE7 was the game that actually revitalized the franchise. RE4R impressed mostly new fans that were uninitiated to the original RE4, and while old fans did appreciate the remake as well, we all know that the uniqueness of the original cannot be replicated. Are there some new ideas and tweaks that could be made to the older DMC games? Sure. The problem is, that would deplete the uniqueness that made each DMC game special. DMC1 has a particular difficulty curve that hasn't been replicated. DMC3 has a visual and auditory style coupled with a tight physics engine that personally feels the best for a lot of players. DMC4 evolves a bit from 3 and incorporates things like style switching and invisible QTE grabs that facilitate a new degree of inertia and aerial combat that you couldn't sustain to the same degree even in 3. DMC5 sands off some of those edges but is still a really expressive game. In between those you have the Bayonetta series, which is really a corollary to DMC and in some ways even better. I don't need to see a remake to remind me how I felt in 2005 or 2008. If Itsuno really wanted, he'd just as well do a DMC6 or leave the series behind for new developers that are passionate. There really isn't a creative reason for remaking the games at all. If there is, then test some new things out with DMC6 and beyond. Let's leave the classics alone to experience on their own terms.

The video is good and pretty solid overall, but I want to add some stuff (and some minor corrections) To begin DMC has a lot, and I mean A LOT of complementary material that IS canon and it explains a lot of the story which makes it harder to just make remakes of the first games considering how much official and canon material is out there that's basically harder to access or to get a hold of, specially the ones from DMC 2 up to 4, including the anime, be it the prequel of DMC 1 where it's about Dante and how Mundus found him, DMC 2 has a novel and the cd dramas of the anime compliment both it and 4, the anime also compliments A LOT to Dante as a character and the world as a whole, it displays how Dante spends most of his days and how he usually is self secluded and lethargic, it always ends with Dante reflecting how lonely he is, just drinking in a dark place, and it introduced the whole Sparda is a legend in the human world, it's a tie in of 1 and 2 to eventually 4 (as said before it was 1 to then 4, but now it's more or less some time after 2 and it goes to 4), the whole Dante never having money for bills too since both in the cd dramas and the prequel of 1 it's explained that Dante feels guilty for the death of his deceased friend Grue after a demon killed him and one of his 3 daughters, who are also mentioned in a letter in 5, the anime introduces you to Morrison and Patty who of the 2, onlt Morrison appears across 5 and Patty only does in the prologue when Dante gets a call from her, the prequel mangas of 3 which one just was cancelled so I guess that's only 2 instead of the originally meant to be 3, the novel of 4 which is the more canon series of events, and the prequel manga of 5, Before the Nightmare, and the manga of 5 from V's perspective, Visions of V, which are pretty important to the story and Visions of V for Vergil as a character, along with explaining why Phantom isn't in 5, plush some other things like the pachinko games of DMC 4 where some have pretty cool things that are mostly unimportant except some that have parts of the story that aren't in 4 but are considered canon, then you also have the gacha game Peak of Combat which is contested whether it's canon or not because it technically doesn't interfere that much with the story since the main villain, Pluto, is actually canon to the series, Pluto being the very first demon king who (I should say it's stated somewhere but I really don't buy it) killed the demon god who was the one who separated the demon world and the human world millennia ago, even before Mundus becoming the demon king since it used to be one single world as a whole, and with that out of the way here's some things and opinions I'll add: First, a DMC remake lineup can go in 3 ways, it starts with a prequel to everything since even DMC 3 has a canon prequel manga where Dante and Vergil met up 1 year before the start of the game, which by itself makes it possible to have stuff about Vergil's time on Fortuna which was some time before that reunion; it goes as how the games released with a remake of 1, then 2, 3 afterwards and lastly 4, or how you put it Second, DMC 4 is actually a halfbaked game because it's development suffered from crunch and it's budget being reduced midway through, which is in part why Dante's part is a reuse of it, Trish wasn't even originally going to be Gloria, they were different characters at the beginning and Lady and Trish would have a slightly more important role, ultimately Trish was reduced to a spy that plants some of Dante's devil arms in the locations of the hell gates, which are canonically already his for a while after solving his debt with Enzo Ferino (the same as Bayonetta) to give his devil arms as proof of him eventually paying him aftet Enzo lost an arm because of a devil arm that corrupt his and Dante cut Enzo's whole arm to save him which made him feel responsible for everything and had to pay him back for it, although a fight with Gilgamesh in 4 would be cool, as explained in 5, Gilgamesh is just the name of a metal originally from the demon world, the gauntlets and boots were made by Machiavelli, a demon weapons smith who made a ton of weapons, most notable of them is Artemis and Pandora, but Lucifer was originally planned to be a boss fight for Dante. The plot was simplified if you compare it to the novel Deadly Fortune which is considered as the more canon series of events of 4 since it also talks about things that happened after the game that are mentioned in 5 or the prequel manga of 5 Before the Nightmare, most notably the Dante giving Nero a neon sign of Devil May Cry to let him open his business of demon hunting in Fortuna as both a gift and some sort of goodbye gift, since Dante never saw Nero again after the defeat of the Savior until the prologue of 5, in between those events not only Nero meets Nico while also almost shooting her when she gave him her back to inspect some things because well duh, she told him that she's after the investigations of Agnus, also in between both Nero and Kyrie adopt some orphan kids who Nero took them in one of his jobs as a demon hunter, and also the novel explains better why Nero has the Devil Bringer which was something that happened 1 month before the events of the game. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what the story was going to be because the novel never got an official translation and it's a hard to find good fan translation for a super important novel because it also mentions and implies that Sparda is actually not dead as said in 1 and 2 complementary materials (manga, novels and cd dramas), which also is said in the anime by Sparda's disciples (the anime is actually canon and it originally was between 1 and 4 when DMC 4 used to take place 1 year after DMC 1) Third, DMC 2 although it's obviously pretty bad story wise it does have some important elements once you take in account that it's plot was basically restructured to be 4 but with religious themes, while also it puts on the table that Sparda was someone stupidly strong to be able to seal not only Mundus who was the ruler of hell, but also sealed Argosax who's the direct rival of Mundus with whom he basically made hell (which is canonically an infinite sized dimension) be divided in 2 factions, the followers of Mundus who's the more or less "official ruler" versus Argosax who, although he did not consume the Qlipoth fruit like Mundus did, is just as powerful enough to be in a constant war that was being won by Mundus solely because of Sparda's presence and power, this leads to the novel of 2 where some concepts are introduced that were later used like the ability of a human "ascending" to be a demon through means like eating a part of it where Chen eats the beast heads, it also was the very first introduction of what was eventually the Sin Devil Trigger, whith the True Devil form (incorrectly called Majin Form or Majin Devil Trigger) which was also going to be in 4 and expanded upon but was scrapped because of dev crunch, it also made an important point that was eventually used in the anime (and Sparda's own story) that demons can learn to have feelings like humans and that leads them being stronger for making them get a meaning of their everything, it also (on the novel) you get a mention of how Dante scaped hell with a shard of Yamato after Mundus fractured it shortly after the end of 3 which is still mentioned that there's more of them in hell Fourth, DMC 3 would require a lot of work because it's the game with the most lore and story driven aspects, it not only has 2 manga prequels, it also was going to have a 3rd about Lady, it also should account for some of the gaps that the game leaves and never explains, as said before it's the part where Dante says it's been a year since their last meeting, it also briefly mentions and implies that there's some sort of "heaven" but the angels are also actually demons, and also that scrapped Lady campaign she was going to have Fifth, DMC 1 also has potential to be the better starting point simply because it presents you everything that DMC 3 doesn't, like Dante's motivation to hunt demons, the reason for both Dante's and Vergil's fight in 3 where they fought for the amulet that Eva gave them (which Vergil could have stolen 1 year before DMC 3 when he whooped Dante's ass but gave the amulet back), it can also introduce characters who are relevant across the story like Nell Goldstein who's Nico's grandma, the creator or Evony and Ivory who's also Dante's maternal figure throughout his early days of Devil May Cry business, along with Gilver who was a Vergil clone that Dante met in the prequel of 1, it also lets you more intrigues about the story because it is self contained but can be complimented easily if you get hooked with it, it makes scenes like Vergil's backstory more impactful when playing 3 if in a theoretical remake they add a Vergil campaign that ends with his lose to Mundus and how he broke and brainwashed him to become Nelo Angelo, it makes the Dante's development and motives to be mad make more sense as to why he was so mad not only for "killing" Trish, and also it's a nice starting point simply because it introduces to the whole story easier

i think the biggest challenge they would face if they remake all of the games is not make them to similar to each other in a way that feels repetitive just with different weapons, maybe if they focus on making multiple playable characters and purposefully limiting what dante can do it could work, but i dont have a lot of faith on them actually doing anything, capcom has been really stepping up their game in the last few years but they dont share a lot of love towards dmc for some reason

ngl i think a proper remake of DMC2 could actually be really good so long as the weapons and bosses are reworked the game wouldn't be that bad in the first place but with the modern system of having you play as multiple characters in one campaign the story would be so much less confusing then it was with the 2 disks the game originally had

DmC was supposed to be the remake/reboot and look at what ended up happening. Looking at what already happened I would dare say we don't need a remake. Also, though I liked RE4 remake, they made Leon a lot more serious than his OG counterpart, and I, for one, don't need Dante to be tuned down even a bit.

Anyone asking for remakes of anything is a fake fan. If you weren't, you'd just play the games as they are and ask for ports and remasters on modern platforms. And before anyone says something dumb like "they should remake DMC2 because it's bad" ask yourself why Capcom should waste precious time and resources doing that when they could be making DMC6 instead.
