so.... I watched an 8 minute video that just says that borneo is good because it has many routes and flanks along with being viable for every class.

Idk why but i actually played tf2 classic before the original tf2 for some reason I played the calssssic mainly for the custom weapons wich were great and cuz i didnt know how the item system worked so i though you had to buy the weapons or smthn and then i finally figures it out and now i have 500 hours on the game :)

I think a rework is in order: New stats +40% projectile speed -15% damage penalty on grounded enemies. Same knockback power as stock. Mini crits airborn targets like direct hit. Killing an airborne target refills clip and causes target to gib. This rework turns the weapon into a combo weapon that rewards hitting the combo with boosted damage ,plus reloading your clip and causes enemies to explode like fireworks on an airshot kill.

I got my first godlike killstreak with this weapon. A 31 killstreak! in casual of course... :) I did have a kritz medic who was ubering me but he was healing the rest of the team too and dying a bunch. I used the buff banner alongside it, since it's extremely easy to charge with a kritz medic. You'll have one ready immediately after being ubered. Sometimes you'll get 2 bb pops per uber.

You lost all credibility when you said shotgun is obsolete on Heavy. It is super reliable and a great way to prevent yourself from being taken off guard while traveling to the objective.

Until recently, changing your hud isnt something i knew you could do lol. I probably will try the improved default one.

I use MiddleMann hud. It's just nicer to have this information closer to the center, and also keep the art style of the original.

Sandvich is overrated, it's pretty much redundant on decent teams that actually support you. Might as well use a shotgun to catch enemies that run from you by going behind walls or for doing damage while retreating. BUT if your team isn't good at supporting you then use the Sandvich.

Am I playing worse because I play on default?

You're probably not checking the comments on this video anymore, but you want a hud styled like the default hud, but having a lot of the elements like health closer to the screen, you could try CoolHud, which is what I like to use. Too many huds don't feel TF2 enough to me and just look out of place to me. Coolhud doesn't have that problem, but I don't have to check the corner of my screen to see ammo or health.

I have never felt the need to use anything other than the default hud. I feel like I see all of the information I need. I'm glad people have options, but I don't understand why so many people really dislike the stock hud.

I still remember the time I installed my first hud mod on Mac osx tf2, can’t find it nowadays sadly, but it was nice since it was a slightly edited default hud. Nowadays I use Maidcore :)

I used to use custom huds but currently use the default hud. For me it is way more readable. About the only thing I'd like moved is the charge meter for rechargeable items. Killstreak for instance doesnt matter. When you die it tells you what your streak was up to and the audio queues tell you when you hit milestones. Health would be an issue but it is large enough that my eyes just focus on how filled the cross is rather than any number, with red indicating that I really need to go find a medkit. Now I do use custom crosshairs though. I use crosshairs that show the actual effective area of your shots. So the scattergun for instance shows the pellet spread inside a box with a central dot. It actually helps immensely for lining up shots because you are never questioning where your reticle is. For melee for instance it show the outer hitbox as well, so sometimes I will specifically hit people with the very edge of the hitbox instead of the middle so that I can still be seeing everything else.

i'm someone who likes custom HUDs, but i really, *really* can't stand the ones that try to look "clean" (they're butt-ugly, nobody can convince me otherwise), i like to go for the ones that try to at least look kinda like the vanilla hud. things like darhud and middle mann just, look nice, man. having team colored elements on the HUD is nice, even if it's obvious to you what team you're on.

i agree, i love the default HUD, but i find a nice substitute that is very similar and popular is COOLHUD.

I use the airstrike with the conch, it reduces the time you take scrambling for health and makes it so you can use the airstrike like a normal rocket launcher due to the increased sustainability. This combo is better for being useful in general instead of just being good in specific situations. I recommend pairing it with the disciplinary action or the escape plan so you can run away or help increase rollout efficiency depending on if you want to be more supportive or self sustainable (Loadout is may not be for everyone)
