I used to shoot Nikon the d810 was my last Nikon camera I’m a natural light shooter for the most part and feel like with Nikon I had to shoot to edit later in post where as the canon seemed to get the exposure and colors right straight out of camera….but there are def things i miss about my Nikon i like the way the blues and some darker tones look but at the moment I’m canon r5 and Fuji xt5 and xs20 for now

Great video ! Honest review . All the cameras are more than enough these days for portrait work . Even the old D850 and earlier can still capture beautiful photos . Now it’s just minor incremental updates . Would have been dope of you had the 85 1.2 Z lens for the tests as that’s now my go to lens but even then it’s so close these days you won’t see any blow your mind differences . Thanks again for keeping it real ! ✌🏽

As a nikon shooter i always loved canon colors especially on dark skin tones

I’d be curious to see the Nikon 85mm 1.2 enter the battle. Having only used it and not the older Nikon 85 1.4 I see some color differences I don’t see in the newer 85. But either way can’t go wrong and the canon looks great as well

You pretty much said my thoughts exactly for this particular shoot. The canon Jpegs were very very good, seeming almost perfectly tailored to her skin. The Nikon in both Jpegs and edits seemed to have an almost pink cast though, so I am wondering, was that baked into the raw files or did you edit from Jpegs on this one? Probably wouldn't have noticed if this was a Nikon only shoot, but the white balance on the background and foreground seemed perfect on the Canon and made her pop out of the image more than the Nikon. As for Bokeh, I prefer the Bokeh on the Nikon. Slightly more detail, but looked more creamy/smooth and less busy than the canon on the far background. Oh also, great shoot, great model! Canon may have been in tune with it, but her skin tones are off the chart fine art print material.

I did the swap from the R5 to the R5ii. I feel like i is worth it for e. I shoot fashion as well as sports. the extra speed and lowlight capabilities are way better. The top thing that i like so far however is the autofocus. It’s a beast of a different kind. Being able to lock focus even with people walking in front of the subject is a game changer.

I still use the r5 mark I. I still think the r5 is great. The mark ii is a little bit better upgrade. Sensor stacked. Faster for sports. It could be a good investment. Both cameras are great! Great photos tmidd!

Bro, I went with the R6ii bc I didn’t need some of the features that the 5ii had. My side piece is the R(elic). Old but the 30 MP resolution is enough. Great work. Great renders

It's crazy how GOOD the 85 F/1.4G is. Especially on the Z8 too. The bokeh from the 1.4G still looks SMOOOOOTH. Great video man. As you said, the 2 cameras are insanely good. I'm still riding with my Z6 with the F-mount lenses and still getting good shots. But playing with the Z8 and Z6...the Z8's AF is definitely on another level compared to the Z6.
