This is actually a good chance to know Coach Tony. Rather than just know what he thinks about young players. He is so strong and humble at the same time so grateful about every one around. Good tutor
aaah it's understandable when he says he sees a lil bit of himself on Hendra Setiawan because Hendra always says Tony is his fave player. He studied Tony and stuff then developed his own style

BWF please hire Tony Gunawan as one of commentators for BWF Tour match! So they are not dominated by former European players. Tony can speak good English and very knowledgeable about badminton. Or at least invite him as guest commentator.
I think Tony is too busy with his coaching jobs (in US and Japan). But certainly having more knowledgable commentator will be great

Good badminton countries like China and Indonesia never call their former player or coach who leave to other country as traitor. They embarked on new journey to find new challenge, to play badminton while taking degree in better quality university, and also to help spreading badminton culture to the corners of the world.
Kenapa penghianat?, coba tanya dirimu sendiri apa yang sudah anda berikan ke negara? dia sudah berikan banyak dia hanya mau meng explore pengalaman hidup dan masa depan yang stabil di negara lain dan tentunya tidak ada masalah, apakah anda bisa menjamin itu kalau dia tinggal bersama anda? kalau lah u punya otak pasti u bisa analisa dan merasakan di interview ini betapa dia cinta teman teman main nya, coach nya dan negaranya. tak satu kata pun keluar dari mulut Tony yang menyudut teman teman dan ex negaranya...

An Olympic champion and world champion (with different partner non the less) is not skillful? The only other player that achieved this after him is Hendra Setiawan. Need to remember though, he was partnering Howard Bach, a relatively weaker player all around when he was up against Chandra/Sigit in the 2005 World Championship Final. I'd say he is extremely skillful to be able to carry Bach and won the championship against the other legendary pair.
