Nice job. My advice is to get some pine and practice your joinery. Take your skills to the next level. Kreg screws can stress and tear out, but a dovetail joint would be much stronger and look beautiful.

What stain and finish are you using? Looks great!
I used a wood conditioner and Early American stain. I usually hate to stain natural hardwood but this did turn out nice. Glad you like it!

No, I know alignment could have been better if I did. I was still able to get it pretty flat. Will be easy to plane out.
