I have always been a creative person. Never in school did I miss any competition, be it art, craft, music, dance, debates, nothing. Not only did I participate, I did well too. But the thing i was the best and was, Academics. I was amongst the school toppers throughout. But in the obsession of excellence, to get a 100/100 everytime, I made a lot of mistakes during the utmost important years. • I left my Indian Classical Music classes when I was in Class 8th, because I got a little less marks in Physics. My harmonium became a piece of furniture. • I stopping making art & drawings because apparently “I didn’t have the time to”. All my paint brushes & crayons kept hidden in a shelf drawer for the longest time possible, maybe till now. • I was a bookworm. I used to complete one novel in like 2 day and as a kid it’s a great deal. But then we caught hand of these mobile phones and there’s no going back now. • I had a stage fear in my early years which I overcame with constant facing and not avoiding the issue. I used to participate in school plays, narrations and what not. I didn’t fear speaking in english or hindi in front of everyone. But, give me a mic now, I will hesitate. I want to, but I will not be confident enough. • I started a handmade gifts small business with a friend after Class 12th, but CA preparations overpowered that small biz and I don’t know where it is now! • I restarted my music classes after Class 12th, but duh, CA preparations. Also, the puberty hit and my voice had changed a bit, due to lack of riyaz. And then I left music again after completing my Senior Diploma. This list is not going to end. Everyday I will come across something I COULD but I DIDN’T. My constant failures in my Chartered Accountancy course also took that ONE thing from me that was my excellence in Academics. And soon, I was in middle of nowhere. I might comfort myself by saying I was, I am a jack of all trades but a master of none, but that’s not how life works. I never took the risk, I never took the leap of faith. I never gave myself a chance, I never took the “Road Less Taken”. I never even gave myself the chance to figure out “WHAT I WANT” But.. now I will.
