Did I tell you my friend was sucked out from a PC? Yeah, lived barely, freaking crazy.
To stop a flip over surely a plastic (deformable and disposable) bridle could be added. Think of a double-sided Y keeping the rings apart. Just a thought for future safety for you guys.
Aren't there fewer accidents when the canopy is round.
Thank you! For the algo, tell me, what is your favorite pizza topping, and why is it pineapple?
👍
Thanks for the quick tip!
The spooky music is unnecessary. This isn't a ghost story.
That's because no one identifies who the rigger is that fucked up!
There are riggers that I would not even let pack my lunch
Great video Jules McConnell. I remember being GCA on the training camp when Lyall Waddell came over from Canada to teach Parabatics at Lower Light and it was fantastic and great you are further stepping forward CRW training to another level. Good luck from Eddy and Lenny the galah. Spirit of Lower Light. 21 April 2024 17:05 hrs Adelaide Standard Time
Great video!
Why is that person flying diagonally across the landing area at a jumper on the ground?
Graet video...why I do so much coached jumps...just to be groomed into good habits ...thats the idea anyways.
This entire time i thought you were in Australia!
same!
Can you do a video on how to measure risers? i was told I needed shorter risers and a friend gave me his. but how do i know i got the right size? where do i measure from? Thanks.
Brian Germain and Dean Ricci have great books on fear. Solo, stress free jumps really helped me when I was going through AFF. I think you should watch all of the TEEM videos and learn how your gear works. Read and watch everything skydiving. Take a canopy course right away!
Great acronym for FEAR and your videos are always appreciated! Thanks for keeping us vigilant and continually learning!
Tube stows or rubber bands
I've got 3 tandems under my belt. Two, 23 years ago, and most recent was 2019. On the last one, I felt door terror until I was out of the plane. That surprised me. I noticed that when I was at that place mentally, so was everything else I worried about just flooding my being. The jump went great, but I needed to handle my business; kids, career, and all my obligations not being ok. I learned that my life was out of balance. Hopefully soon, I can get my rating.
Low altitude aircraft failure is my biggest fear. I'm always looking for landing areas while climbing.
I experienced some intense fear, now have 66 jumps. Haven't been able to jump in a year and life is not the same it's quite dull.
I havent jumped solo yet but i have watched hours of rigging videos. Haha
I was lying in bed watching this and screamed at 4:52.
If you are a guest please follow the rules of the host DZ Thanks
This vocal has to go to the CNN 😆
Thank you for doing this one! It's a real problem during events!
Are you a APF Instructor?
Awesome post...I have been looking for examples of 3 ring mis riggings...just getting back into it after 20 years off.
Your channel is the best! Always exited when I see a new video.
Wow this is so sick!
what when i use to jump it use to cost back in the 60s is lot Cheep than it cost today of course equipment now cost more
This is awesome!!
I've done a single tandem jump. Canopy deployed no problem, but at some point during the descent the instructor pointed to our left strap and pointed at these rings and was audibly flustered. When we hit the ground he quickly said that our reserve shoot wouldn't have deployed because these rings were incorrect and disappeared with no further explanation. I have had no idea how these work until now.....this was at "that" jump center in Lodi, CA and about a week after a fatality in '16/'17. Woop woop
Jesus.
Legend
Yeah love this podcast. Lunatic Fringe is a great one too and Exit Point. Jump 26 is also great for newer jumpers. Keep up the good work guys! We're listing!
Cheers and thanks for listening! We're really enjoying it! Big fans of Lunatic Fringe and Exit Point as well for sure!
@@jameslabarrie4453 I love your podcast and the people you have on! Skydiving is so sick and the people are some of the best.
I am an experienced skydiver almost 500 jumps but just just got back into it after 4 years. I still know my stuff but if I'm not sure, I'll still ask questions. I don't care how many jumps you have if you are not sure ask. I love helping new jumpers as well and if they ask me a question, I'll answer it if I know if I don't, I'll point them to the right person. Blue skies.
Nice!
Hi can you do an episode on choosing the right riser length?
It's coming. I have a leading canopy coach organised to discuss this. Watch this space :-)
Thank you for this
I plan on going for my class A training next month. I'm a fairly shy person so hopefully that doesn't affect my training. I hear over and over, that people at the DZ are probably going to be the friendliest people you'll ever meet.
Scary amount of nightmare fuel photos 😰😩😫😅
Thank you for putting out this content. Really helps me as a new jumper 😊
Has Alliance or any DZ worked out a collection and recycling use for these bands? I understand they are hard to recycle - could there be a use like for car tyres in eg soft surfaces of kids playground? An episode investigating this even if it finds there is no current solution would be interesting (and in turn maybe prompt a creative idea from someone?)
There are helicopter jumps going on at a nearby dz and I signed up with some friends of mine. I have 60 jumps and I fly a 210 with a wingloading of one. The dropzone said they rent out rigs, but its possible they might only have a 190 available. I land fine on light wind days, and safely on no wind days with my 210. My more experienced friends have told me that a 190 wont be much different and it should be fine. What do you think?
W❤W! That’s Incredibly Awesome! Cheers!🥂❤️✨
You are most welcome. There are some more coming over the next few months :-)
I did my first tunnel camp years ago with Air Speed in Orlando Fl. Had a brand new flight suit that fit like an over sized trash bag. Craig ended up lending me one of his suits. At the next pre-flight meeting with everyone suited up,I said, hey Craig, I have good news and bad news for you. He said, whats that? I said, good news is I made the team. Bad news is I got your slot!! Big chuckles all around!! I still have photos of me looking cool in an Air Speed flight suit flying in the tunnel geeking the camera with Craig. Thanks Craig!!
He's a good lad. And a great friend to have.
Hi
