Custom shaping update Onewheel GT Review and comparison video
Thank you for your demonstration! I needed to catch up on my gt knowledge because I have too many various gadgets to ride, lol. What a great problem to have
Strength: how forceful/stiff the angle adjustment is. Rider aggressiveness & weight might be good factors to consider. Speed: How quickly it happens. Max Angle: how much the board is allowed to adjust its angle. It will only adjust to what is needed for any given slope, but you decide the upper limit.
HAHAHAHA FM is agian a year late to the party lol. Also it would have been great to see you actually pick up some speed to show the wana be duty cycle in action
Paying $6,000 right now for a split open elbow because my GT dumped me without warning. Stay safe out there
Great review Mike. I believe I was talking to you as we were waiting for the Esk8con gates to open. Well done!
First off, great video. I would also like to know more about that phone strap. I use my GT to ride around town to play Pokémon GO, so that would be awesome to have. This update is awesome.
duty cycle and torque are two different things you will get hurt if you use the torque meter as duty cycle info to push limits...
WARNING!!! THIS IS NOT DUTY CYCLE OR THE EQUIVALENT
Not duty cycle at all don’t call it that. It is not safe.
Where did you get your phone wrist strap, or what’s the name? Thanks
I just met the dude that makes these. He let me ride one, and they're sick. Ayal (butchering his name) is so nice. He offered me to go riding with him this afternoon. He legit makes these by hand. I hope they catch on. I wish him and his family all the success in the world. It's was such a rush that I felt like I was surfing. Carving in and out of turns. Blown away! I would buy one if I didn't live in an RV.
I found that this update has really raised my nose in general. I had to put it at -5 now to compensate.
Try brining your gradient tracking degree down or turning it to stock
Gradient tracking is too high. Though this could be useful for bent rails that want a higher nose
@@thewheelneil1379 Gradient tracking angle is adjustable. If your nose is too high adjust the angle or turn the feature down all together. I ride with WTF Standards and I havnt had any issues. It started off a little high, and then all I needed to do was adjust it a bit. now its AWESOME!
@@josephcase5435 totally. I agree.
Hi thewheelneil I have standard W rails and wonder if you could give me a little advice on setting him up I had them on 3° nose up with the 3.0 custom shaping upgrade. So once I downloaded the firmware update, I basically went in and set all the ride modes to 3° nose up tilt after download completed but haven’t taken for a ride
I think I’ll hold off from updating. I’m still on pre haptic buzz so I’m super worried about messing up my board. If it ain’t broke don’t update it. Nice video mate. 🤙🏼
Here's my unsolicited feedback 😂 Totally get it, but I would also say that I used to feel the same way and have zero regrets about updating. But it depends on what kind of rider you are. If you cruise flat pavement, pre haptic buzz might be your thing since the buzz can get annoying. If you ride trails however, there's no comparison. Setting up a custom tune (or multiple) to your liking, and the absolutely smooth riding behavior after updating makes the board feel like a free performance upgrade. Gradient tracking in particular let me take lines on trails I didn't even consider before. The one caveat would be if you plan on getting new angled rails. Do that first and re-level the board. Then update.
@@humbertoduenas89 I’m so close to doing it 😬😬😬😬
Great video! Does the firmware update break anything or take anything away from us? Compatability problems?
As of now no one knows. If you are running the pre haptic buzz firmware it breaks a lot of work arounds though
I went on an 11mile ride yesterday to test it out and it seems to have broken hard breaking with custom shaping. I primarily ride Flow and can hold a hard break pretty good, now into a hard break it almost releases and forced the board to tail drag mid-break. A little bit scary because I wasn’t expecting it, but when I reset Flow to factory settings it fixed the issue. Still testing tho. I guess 11 miles wasn’t enough.
Woop woop thanks for video. Appreciate it
never updated and never going to💪😤
Gah, wish I could hear more.

This board is insane!!! I've used it many times and its great i highly recommend
I would very much love to have you review ours!
We would be happy to! Send me an email at renopropulsionlabs@gmail.com
This is so freaking dope, love to see more! Do you guys do other reviews?
Yes we do! We are working on a review of almost the whole @shredlights line right now. Planning more e-skate, Onewheel, EUC and accessories reviews to come!
How can I make it do that automatically I want to honk at people
I've noticed TLT board about a month ago. And it's one of the most original and interesting PEV designs i've ever seen. What's crazy is that it's been around for almost 20 years, but there's so little information about it. Even finding high res photos and videos is almost impossible. Thank you for reviewing it.
Yeah it’s an interesting board. A ton of fun though! If you want any more info or have any questions about it feel free to ask!
Future motion told me after just one month they will not be providing support to me for my brand new GTS I just purchased from them. Just because they did not like the fact I was point out all there flaws and asking why they are not fixing them. You can not trust the company and glad there are shops out there to help people who decide to get in with FM and find out how much they suck. Best to just buy used and VESC it when it breaks.
I am not going to disagree with that.
👍👍👍
26 miles isn’t bad!
Feburary 24, 2024
I am shocked at the placement of control board, the exposed wiring and drum brake. Just seems expensive for the build.
wow
helo
The position it forces you to stand in is beyond awkward. It looks like it was designed by a farmer in a barn.
:D
I wouldn't trust that with even 24 volts🤣
This thing looks like an over engineered nightmare. I'll stick with the onewheel.
Why don't you respect the stone kitchen counter tops? . That metal wheelbarrow thing is going to scratch it.
We’ve got three kids they are destroyed already 😅
we did
Thank you Michael you are a blast too
Excellent unboxing video! Definitely subscribing and I look forward to future content.
Thanks for the sub!
Let’s gooo!!!

Is charging your board with the charger still in the bag safe or could it get to hot? When riding in the summer do you ever take it out or always leave it in the pocket with the cords coming out? It is a really good idea to pack it like that though!
I have done both. If charging for a longer time probably not a bad idea to take it all the way out. We usually share the charger between boards though on group rides.
I love my pint x and don't want to update it due to the irritating beep. I can feel my pushback just fine and yes it has already thrown me and broke my ankle. but I got my mind right and now I don't ride it that aggressive on pavement anymore. I am 57 and I am totally addicted to riding the dang thing. But I think the peace that I enjoy riding it would be messed up by the beep every now and then. And I don't think you can get rid of it once you update it. any thoughts on this would be appreciated .....
No way so many people want or is ok with this feature. The buzz is annoying and kills the ride experience.
Imagine payimg $1500 to go 10mph. Just learn to skateboard, if you dont want to them get a bike. One wheels are cringe
You've no idea what you're talking about
@@aaronlarsen8412 pretty sure you own a one wheel.☝️😂
@@HighNoone yeah I've got a gt and a gts
I traded a drone and 200 bucks for mine, it’s a lot of fun, on a board that moves like a snowboard 15 is fast for carving the road
sick
Should I be scared that my Onewheel says it updated but did not actually install haptic feedback
You’re blessed. Now go out there and cruise at 25 mph.
@@Zetler it’s a pint x it still cpas out at 17 ;(
can't hear half of what you said
We did that a loooooong time ago 😂
Will it still nose dive after the new firmware?
It still can. There should be more warning now.
This beat is floaty af
this is so good dude!!!
