These books are ABSOLUTELY brilliant and full of useful information. Fun to read too!
There are already too many layers of “standards”. Therefore, none are needed. If you continue with this artificially constructed compliances there won’t be a wool industry worth discussing in 10 years time…it’s too tied with valuable land…
what about the introduction of pour on antiparasitics that happened around the same time as the UK's scrapie outbreak.
Sheesh, this is really well presented.👏
Do you need worker?i have been working in greece for two year and now i am in spain and looking for job.

Hello, I am asking you if it would not be possible to make a trailer or trailer, I don't know how they say it there, as long and wide as possible, covered around and with a roof, so that it serves as a home where they have to go, to put behind the truck, it is only a suggestion, greetings.

I love Dr. Grandin's no-nonsense approach to livestock welfare, stretching from birth to death. Nobody has the option to choose whether or not they are born, and few have a choice on how they exit this world. This is true of any living organism. Some life-forms are given the great good fortune to live for thousands of years, and other organisms are given only hours to live. As self-aware entities who recognize their own place in this circle of life, once we began to domesticate animals so that we could benefit from their labor (whether it is to help plow a field, or the simple labor of producing eggs or flesh), it is incumbent upon us to find the way to make sure that this partnership provides both sides with positives that improves both. For example, we might choose to raise sheep for multiple purposes. We see that they'll produce wool, and with that wool, we might find warmth. We provide those animals with protection from predation, better forage, and medical care when necessary. We also shear the wool, trim the hooves, assist with lambing, provide shelter and companionship. The average sheep that has not been domesticated will suffer from predation (even if they don't get eaten, the fear and stress of the chase is there), disease, parasites, etc. It's a mutually beneficial system. The sheep don't consciously choose to be a part of it, but adapt well to it. And yes, part of that partnership includes that point when the animal does come to the end of its life. Whether it's 5 months old, or 10 years old. Instead of dying of starvation, because their teeth don't work right anymore, or being consumed alive, or cast and unable, like a turtle on its back, to get to its feet.... we choose to make that ending as swift and pain free as possible. The ideal partnership is one where, aside from the necessary management tasks to keep the sheep healthy, the animal is given a predator free life with a high level of nutrition. When it is time to be slaughtered, the animal has no grasp on "end of life" and if kept stress-free, it merely goes from alive to dead. Anyway, I just thought I'd share my thoughts.
Read carefully, it's said that Huntington disease has no cure, yes with the western medication but not with herbal medicine, my daughter's situation made me to realize that with doctor Bharat herbal medicine it can be cured. In 2014 she experienced difficulty in concentrating, memory lapses and depression, at first I taught it was stressed from her place of work until I took her to hospital and the doctor made me to understand that it's juvenile Huntington disease because she is still in her late 20s, which she inherited from my late husband that died of the same disease, the doctor told me it has no cure, but gave her some medicine which I noticed that it has side effects, my daughter situation got worst each day that passes, she was the best at her place of work, now a shadow of her self because of this deadly disease, she speaks to herself often, she was really going insane, I do not want to lose my daughter the same way I lost her father, in 2018 I carried out research on internet and bumped into a comment of a lady that got cured of Huntington disease, without wasting time I contacted doctor Bharat whose name was mentioned in the comment, now is been 3 years my daughter is living her best life again, for those that have the disease or have any love one suffering from Huntington disease, contact doctor Bharat via dr.bharatkings@gmail.com .

♥.♥ Best thanks... Lots of health and peace and achievements and success for you.
♥.♥ Many thanks.
♥.♥ Dog training is the most essential task. Large dogs do three things when confronted with a wolf. Some of them go to the wolf. Some of them stay where they are and prefer not to go to the wolf. Some of them run away and leave the herd alone. Dog training and dog obedience are more important than anything.
Does stunning the sheep kill them? or is it meant to move them or something?
Thank you Dr. Anderson.

Every sheep handler should be made to sit down, watch this and TAKE IT IN. I have had no end of trouble selling sheep off my farm with buyers who think they are macho and treat my sheep badly. I prefer to lose a sale rather than to sell to them.
Why the sheeps are wearing "clothes"?
bambookkun probably a higher value fleece to save contamination in an intensive system.
I love this lady, she cares so much for the animals. She has also done a better job than most people in making sure that slaughterhouse animals are actually being stunned 100% unconscious right before being cut and not suffering in the slightest

She is an autistic woman that specializes in animal welfare. Temple Grandin, there was a movie made about her.
Man...people are a lot like sheep...
“ the right thing to do” does that include injections, vaccines for diseases that are not present but “just in case” for years we have believed that keeping livestock in cages, pens and inject with chemicals to prevent diseases that are not present. when animals are kept in a natural environment like grazing, constant movement to new grazing area just as shepards have done for centuries. People will say it cant be done but there are farmers in Colorado doing just that with 100’s of sheep
Will hair sheep work?
So how's the study going?
Recommendations- wool or hair? Why? Best breeds of the type chosen? In your opinion definitely in the eye of the beholder.
Depends on your market. For meat, Katahdin and St Croix are tough to beat. For wool, ask someone else. No market for wool where I live.
Animal welfare considerations are the trademark of a true professional.
Thanks Temple, You are doing a great service! Mack
