I’ve had problems with labels staying on after a few years in the heat/cold etc. do these labels stick well over time?
I havent heard from anyone having an issue with that. Mine are fine, but I think this is a valid concern. Where I live it gets very, very hot but its a dry heat and not very humid. As for cold, we get cool and our bins are in a space that isnt heated but... we don't get that cold here in CA. My thought is that if I have that issue (which i haven't in 2 years so fingers crossed) then I would put clear plastic tape over them. Please let me know how it goes. Best wishes!

Me and my mom moved 2 households together last July and have been trying to figure out a way to keep track of what's inside out boxes as we transfer them to plastic storage boxes from cardboard I'm hoping this will help because between 8 people 3 cats and a dog it's a mess 😂

We are reorganizing our garage inspired by this method. Instead of using a label printer, I use the google feature to generate QR codes and print them on mailing labels from my computer.

Great video! I am 29 and have been going through mine and my parents photos, as well as my grandparents photos. Me and my parents only had about 2 boxes of photos and a few albums, but when we started going through my grandparents house we found that my grandparents had albums in all of their closets. In total there were over 70 albums. Some were the old sticky albums that you showed and some were the old black paper photo albums from the 1940's and 50's. My grandmother tried to organize her pictures through the years and even bought page protectors for them. She was just overwhelmed. There were also boxes of photos mixed in with other things, as well as ones in frames and in drawers. I brought all of them home and sorted pictures for my Aunts, Uncle's and cousins (and even pictures for my Dad's cousin's). I got rid of all of the bad blurry pictures but I kept a lot of the duplicates so I could have a copy. There are still more that I need to go through. I threw the old sticky albums away because they were slowly destroying the photos and disintegrating. My plan is to a Scrapbook album for me with photos from my birth through high school, One album for my Dad, one for my Mom and some more family type Scrapbooks since there are many older family photos. Great video again and good luck going through those bins.
Wow, 70 albums! How amazing she did that and it must be fun to go through. I absolutely love pictures and the memories so any way we can incorporate them into our lives the better! I never start small and it ends up looking like a tornado went through the room I’m working on. Gonna try this strategy and hopefully I will have better luck 🍀

Hi there! I bought them from the Container Store - they were much cheaper there than Amazon. If you search for "Clear Zippered Envelope," it should pop up on the Container Store website. You can use any type of pouch that you want, and even a plastic bag. I really like these because they stand up nicely in the bin, and they have a small pocket for me to slip in one of the bandaids so you can easily see what type is in each of the pouches. I am trying to convince my mom to do this!
It can be very difficult! If she starts with things that are not sentimental letting go can be easier. For example if she has 3 can openers, or 3 crockpots or 4 pairs of sandals that are similar - maybe she can part with some of them. Or if she has something she is keeping because she worries she may need it, but never has, maybe she can borrow it from you or someone else she knows if she really does need it down the road.
