Thinking about making a 1996-1998 Civic a double DIN dash so you can put in a bigger radio? You need to see this to get a look at what's involved. If you have any ideas or somehow found a way to make the existing heater controller work, leave a comment please!!

hey i had a question about your most recent video about the suzuki kizashi, where do you get thoes parts from? im looking for websites to order from
Hi, it depends on the parts. Most of them can be found on RockAuto, the head however I have only been able to find a new replacement from China, or Suzuki. Suzuki is way out of my acceptable price range, and the Chinese ones are reasonably priced but have a long lead, a month or more. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question
Great video, there is also an adjustment point for the top of the rear guide on top of the door near the door lock pin, you didn't mention it and it maybe why you have that tiny gap. I am in the process of fitting new lhs glass to mine as it was broken when i bought the car, I wasnt able to locate a new one in australia except for a slightly later model. This normally would not fit as the glass is larger on the rear lower area. Ended up cutting the channel that the glass fits too and now I have lost the 2 front steel brackets so will need a solution there lol.
Thanks a lot for this video! Life saver
My window is stuck is there anything I can do without taking the regulator down
Link? Plz 🙏
Looks like the older link I provided is gone again. Try this one, it's different than the original, but still covers it. honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faq-%2A%2A-mother-all-how-tos-96-98-ek-manual-climate-swap-99-00-ek-electronic-%2A%2A-605432/
Car looks amazing
Bro your in Florida? I’m in Sanford Florida and was about to do this but got to get all the parts first
Not far from you. Upull&pay in Orlando has been a good place to source parts
hi, I bought a 2din 99/00 kit for my civic eh8 97. Could you send me the tour step by step to install it in my car, please? eduardocostaprofessor@gmail.com thanks for your video
Thanks for posting Dave, I'll be attempting to change out my motor this weekend.
So I actually got a dashboard straight from a 2000 in my 96. Picking up the double din later but was planning on buying the ac as well because mine never came with one. Am I in the clear?
My car didn't have AC either and I added it after moving to Florida. Assuming the donor car had AC? if not, not in the clear. If so, you need the obvious and also make sure you get the diode that goes in the underhood fuse box. When I bought mine, it was all pulled from another car (except the ducting). Plug and play.
mrdavidjp yeah the donor car came with the ac
Ever since some homeless broke of my windows, my driver side window were never the same and is driving me nut. r&r the door panel countless time and the drive track just never in place.
The bottom track is out?
What bottom track? The window glass have been replace 3 times, went to the football game guess maybe roudy fans.

I'm not interested in using the heater live in a Caribbean country my question is. the heater is necessary?
no, but you will then want to make sure the blend door is closed to the heat side. you can remove the small motor (I'm holding at 2:11) and turn the blend door manually. then get the motor to match up the position of the blend door as closed, and remount the motor to keep it from moving.
or you could bypass the heater all together by removing the hoses from the heater core and connecting them together with a fitting. you dont want to just plug those lines long term.
Can you make a video with a better quality? my windows is above the rubber on the roof, need to adjust it, please help
If the window still goes up and down, its an adjutment to the 2 limits which are the cadmium colored 10mm bolts. Lower the window, loosen the bolts enough to slide the bolts down, then retighten and test the window up limit. My guess is that one or both of the tabs on the window fell off, as i described. This will involve full disassembly as I show.
Jesse, start at 10:06 in the video for similar problem you describe and adjustment.
@@mrdavidjp many thanks, my window was 1CM to high, now it's like 1 mm to low on the right side of the driver seat, i'm satisfied!
Damm i want to do this but i can't find RHD Parts :(
TriniRCmodels yooo
Seeing this makes me wanna stick with what i have. This is too much work for just to have a 2 din.
So true
I couldn't commit to the work in my '98 civic. I removed the tape deck that sat on top of the cup holders, then trimmed the opening and fit the oem radio into that(so it retained the dome light and keyless entry) Then installed a flip-out touch screen and backup cam.
Glad i got the 99
If it's all this work why would u do it?..... just to have a dd?
Thanks for the video. My problem was with the inside stopper coming off the window. Would not go down, but up too far... saved me a ton of time.
How did you fix it ?
Thanks for the warnings b4 I started

@mrdavidjp I too have taken on a full restoration of my beloved 97 civic. I am literally struggling to find someone that will help me with this conversion as most assume the work will be very challenging. I have seen only two other videos demonstrating this conversion. I would really like to connect with you and hear your thoughts and or advice. I am also doing the AC as it is a must down here in South FL and would love to hear about advice if possible. Thank you!
Hi can i get the forum link for this conversion ??

There was a MUCH faster and simpler way of 'doing it right'. You really did way too much.
details?
@Cameron Gooden you mean the dash trim?
Idk why he did it that way lol
I find the link in other old coment. thank you.
Hello, please send me the step by step sheets to my email, this is titinito2@gmail.com, I hace a emergency and need change my dash, or the link. thank you.
Wow thanks. Only video on CZcams
Hey man I got a 97 sedan everyone said it's too far gone. Got it for 150 bucks. Found a wrecked 99 sedan. Good engine perfect interior. Learning as I go along but making one good car out of 2. Got all the parts just need to do it. LoL..
thats the way!
Let’s see a finished product
I want to convert my 2000 single din to double din and have double din panel but dnt have wiring which is too expensive in pakistan so kindle show me completw wiring and thinga so i can assemble wiring by my self.
on your single din dash, does the air control use cables or electronics? If cables, you will need the other cabling unless you are willing to open each electronic switch and solder wiring to the circuit board. This would be a large task.
plz mention the honda tech link

they dont describe how to do the wiring part.... i set all 99 parts to my car and i am unable to do the wiring part
the dash or the defroster?
dash socket.. ( old body harness to new one)
If you took the wiring harness out of the donor car (99 I presume), it should simply plug in where the 96-98 plugged in before (light blue connector at the top of the inside firewall, approximately just right of center- or just above the A/C condensor housing)
im currently doing a dash swap from my 98 civic sedan dx to 99 lx. i kinda did things things differently, i just swapped the hole dash with underdash harness basically plug and play. im just having some wiring probs right now. did you finish the swap
yes, shortly after posting. reinstalled the dash, no problems at all.
that would be a simpler way of doing it for sure, I just couldnt find a donor of the same color dash (grey - would match the doors and rest of interior), and many of the donors get pretty moldy here pretty quick in florida junkyards. I could see your way would speed things up quite a bit.
Did you ever figure it all out. I want to do my 96 civic.
@@filitamayo absolutely, the car was reassembled a day after I made the video. All works perfectly.
@@mrdavidjp do you have to switch all that you did , or could you just get the under dash harness, and the trim where the stereo goes.
