Lafayette Band Allure 2008
Lafayette Band 2008 show, Allure, arranged from Carmen, Bolero, and Malagueña, and loosely based around Carmen.
This is state finals, and it'll probably stay up until I can get a multi-cam version (from state or BOA).
The sound quality is a bit iffy...you might have to turn it up, especially at the beginning, to hear the drums.

Lafayette High School Band performing their first place show, American Times, in 2006. The show gets its name from the several American composers featured in the program, all set in different Time signatures. The interview with Director Chuck Smith was after the band won state.

This is Hannah's Entrance during her Best of Both Worlds tour. Check out the video at 0:51. =) Sorry for the terrible quality. Turns out I suck at videography. And my camera ran out of batteries, so this isn't the entire song. NOTE I am NOT trying to dis Miley. I understand they had to do this for safety reasons, I just thought it was cool to see the real entrance, since I had a nice view of it...

This is Lafayette's Marching show for 1994, based off the musical Les Misérables (duh!). The drill is pretty intense. You might want to turn your sound up at about 8:15, because it gets a little hard to hear. Hope you enjoy this!

Hey, here's one of the best shows of Lafayette's recent histories. Sorry that the video editing is crappy, but I couldn't find the BOA version, so I had to use the state one. They seemed to show the soloists or the pit during all the cool parts involving tents or tarps. But whatever.

It was all mcgavock and Lafayette back then. This was Lafayettes championship year I believe. All mcgavock all the way but this put chills down my spine. Well done! Good lord we marched a huge band back then.
I’m mcgavock HS band here. Wow. I remember this performance. They weren’t as loud as us but they won the day. Great show. It brings back so many memories.

This was all for entertainment. Hannah’s a character, Miley’s a real person, so the box entrance, body double, and screening of Hannah in the final number was all about keeping the illusion of Hannah alive.

I was on the rifle line for Obion County 93-96. That year was our first time at CoC and I was awestruck. When those steps came out my jaw hit the ground. Really fantastic! We were so proud just to make finals with you guys!
I really miss marching. I want my daughters to be able to have the experiences I had. It's up to them, and I won't force them into anything. But, damnit, other than seeing them born, there's only a handful of feelings in my life that made me feel better than marching. Making beautiful sounds and sights are incredible, but when you are part of a group (band), it becomes something completely different. I'm a band dork. There are a lot of us, and I bet almost all of us would agree.
I marched with Columbia Central High, we always looked up to this band and played Les Mis in 2000 season. We didn't do Master of the House, and it looked so fun damnit.
Thank you for posting these videos. My son is Tez (Montez). Even though you can't tell them apart I know how much he loved Band. It helps me remember to have zesty for life like he did.
