How to Save an overwatered Houseplant
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 2 měsíci
A customer brought in this plant to our store concerned about the yellowing leaves and thought it might need a repot. Although yellowing leaves isn't always a sign that a plant needs repotted, this plant benefitted from a repot because we got to intervene the root rot, which comes from watering a plant too frequently. The plant in this video is Aglaonema Silver Bay. Socials: @tannertheplanter42...

I am guessing you csn reboot the aloe vera plant if it has no roots?
Sooooo what if you stuck your peace lily in a bucket of water to let the roots untangle because the poor plant is horribly root bound???
I water my plants with filtered water. But saw an article that said water really isn't really what it seems. My plants i look at very closely from day to day literally not even 2 hours ago there were spots ontop like u mentioned and i swore it was mold!!! Now im second guessing myself.
Hey hey hey 👋👋👋 pink 🩷🩷🩷 pink is for a real man ♂️ too
@@christinaborges9369 pink is her favorite color- she already has several pink plants.
What is that second one called?
I NEED one of these. How do I go where you sell these, if you sell them.
@@rebeccarakuza2845 these are from BiOrb
That’s a cool looking terrarium setup! Could you please share the brand/model? 🤗🤞
@@cometgirl217 yes! It’s the BiOrb air60
I have about 25 "rat tails" on mine never pinched them because I like the spiked look. Will pinching them off increase my plant grow larger?
amo este arbol
😂❤❤❤❤😊
Hi Tanner. I love your videos here and tik tok. Can Buddha Belly's grow outside? Andcan they go in the ground or stay in a container? I live in zone 10b. South Florida
I think a before and after photo would also work wonders ! Nice simple video !
Peat is a NO go for good soil!
@@13BulliTs what makes you think that?
I needed this video reminder. I just repotted my peace lilly and I thought I did something wrong 😅
My flower was pink
My flower was pink
My home depot soaks all its indoor plants in water with no drainage holes, when im there i dump out the water, they killed like 8 pink princess plants one week
Brilliant!
What great information - thank you!
Should you water it after you transplant it?
❤❤❤
I've used some skewers a bunch of times so now it's hard to tell if there's new dirt or if it's just the discoloration. Is there a way to clean them or do you just have to get new ones
So sick of those little buggers up my nose!!!
A WEEK?!?! Welp, that explains why my cuttings don't make it 😅 I give them like a day or two. They always rot, hahaha. Oye 🤦🏻♀️
do you leave the spike or cut it after the slipper falls off?
What is the difference between a Silver Bay and Golden Bay? I have a hard time differentiating them based on my online searches I've done. For some reason, it seems I have a Silver Bay, but then in another online search it says it's a Golden Bay.
So how do I fix it.?? Repot in a smaller pot
Thank you for mentioning the fungal infection! I got a massive snake plant this summer and half the leaves had this browning on them. I let it completely dry out and the affected areas got all cripsy and it stopped spreading. I repotted afterwards and I'm hoping it will recover after I cut off all the damaged areas. There are so many videos out there talking about brown spots and rot etc, but not one of them aside from yours mentions this fungal infection which is very different looking (brown spots with smaller brown scales). Love your videos!!
Thanks 🙏👍
If you cut the flower spike off, how do you get a new one to grow? I repotted mine, cut the dead spike. The plant is doing geat but I don't see any signs of a new flower spike. What do I do?
Tired of your lecture. You are not even showing the plant and talking. Lousy
Please make a similar video for Aglaonema, Spider Plant & Ferns.
My favorite CZcamsr. I love plants. I'm learning so much from you and Mrs TTP! Thank you. Love yall!
Do you water after put back in pot ??
Tanner! I need you! What if I watered my new growth before watching this video??? I repotted new growth 3 days ago and now the new one’s leaves are wilting. Is there a way to save it???
i just got a little baby one yesterday im so excited, this was very helpful!
Your watering pot makes me happy.😊
Time to replant mine! Also, I planted a snake leaf but I see little white/beige bugs crawling. Why?
This is super helpful! I have all the three types of plants. Thank you!
Finally!! Someone who uses the same mix ratio as I do for all my houseplants 💕 (besides succulents ofcourse)
Do you fertilize calatheas? If yes, with which kind?
Put in a bigger pot with more soil or break in two and plant on two pots
i just got one of these, thanks for the video ! 🎉🎉
I grow mine mostly outside and peat moss based "soils" are a major issue for the opposite reason. Sure they retain moisture well in mild conditions. When it's 90 - 100 for half the year it dries out quick. After it dries out it's basically just a solid brick the requires soaking in a pool of water to rehydrate or the water just runs off. I alway replant them into a equal parts mix of good compost, sand, and vermiculite. That holds a good bit of moisture, but doesn't get sodden so unlikely to cause rot even watering everyday. If it does dry out it's pretty easy to rehydrate.
What is the soil mix used?
Thank you for this video! My roommate bought an orchid at the grocery store for his grandmother, well it never made it to her and I'm the one that ended up taking care of it! I had neglected it for a few weeks and was worried if I had killed it. But as you said the leaves are still green and the roots have silvered, I gave it a long drink in the sink and set it out for some sun. I'm hopeful after hearing your tips and reassurances that it'll be fine, thanks again!
Usually you should separate the plants as they typically come in clusters of 4-5
What are the white bits?
Every video I look at about caring for a snake plant is contradictory one video says don't water it bone dry when it's bone dry put it under the faucet and water the person States water it from the bottom that's it another video the person States if they lean they're sick take them out throw them away do anyone really know how to take care of a snake plant because it's too many mixed messages here every video says something different video say do video say don't in the video that said don't the next video say you do the video that says you do in the next video says you don't this is confusing because I have a snake plant and I just want to take care of it properly so you know what I'm going to take my own advice I have lost a lot of soldiers I must admit speaking of my snake plant leaves I'll give him a kiss and lay them to rest now I still have a few soldiers on my snake plant so I'm doing something different if it works out I will let y'all know bye-bye 👋🏿👋🏿👋🏿😊
Bought some clippings from a guy at a flea market. Brought it home repotted it into an actual pot with drainage holes, ( it was in a cereal bowl!) and set it on my covered porch here in Florida. It has taken off!! Easily one of my favorite gnarly plants!!
