1st(radek) plays with very accurate ,clear , charming atack. The others are ofcource very talented but radek baborak is by far the best, I think.

10年くらい前に、京響のゲストでバボラークのトップでこれ聴いたんだが(もちろん素晴らしかった)、彼はそれに飽き足らず??この曲の後にR・シュトラウスの2番吹いてて、やっぱり変態だと思った【褒め言葉】
息を吸う音が録音に入っていることから、どれだけこの人たちの肺活量が凄いかがよくわかる… 俺もホルン頑張らなきゃ…

Wow, Radek is using a plain old double! Not many players would venture this without a high horn.
The pros can make an old toaster from the back of the Goodwill in the bad side of downtown sound like gold lol
mozna dobre zahrany, ale PRISERNE OZVUCENY resp. diletantsky nahrany, mozna castecne i hrozna akustika mista kde hrajou. Ten orchestr mnohdy uplne chybi... vubec neslysim tu hudbu , ale jen sterini zvuky horen bez akustiky, a orchestr ulne jinde nebo vubec...

Great performance however there are some anoying detils, e.g. Jan Voboril has sometimes issues with rhythm 3:30 or 4:34. On the other hand Jan Musil is sometimes afraid and late 1:23. Intonation e.g. 5:26

I love how Baborak stands away from the other soloists to show how he's on another level of brilliance
+Joseph Longstaff , My be I am blind , but I do not see him away. Players are in compact square positions, there is not enough space for a line, my be square is also better for contact between each other. Nevertheless I agree, he' s another level of briliance.
You don't see one of the Jan's in front of Baborak, do you? Nope. LOL! I doubt they care. I wouldn't.

Radeks tone doesnt exactly blend too well... Very well played nonetheless.
+DementedEeyore64 , I think this is role of acoustic and the horn model. I did actually try to play this Alexandes model , To put it mildly - It did not impress me at all (except the high price).
Its not an orchestra horn. the sounds cuts way more than the rest of the horns because its well suited for solo work and occasionally the woodwind and string group.
Yeah..all amateurs and cheap horns - go back to jr. high
Radek Baborak plays a Dürk D3, not an Alexander.
Thomas Mittler He didnt play a durk till recently. In this video and the majority of his life hes played an Alex 103.
Can't believe he played that on a regular double horn...

Unfortunately I think it's not only a matter of practice. A 14-year-old boy who plays perfectly the Weber Concertino is a genius. Very few people are born with an innate huge talent. Radek Baborak is one of them.
no doubt. That is not human..the dude is truly gifted...
With just practice you can become one of the best though, so it is in fact the best advice
This hornquartet rocks hard because of baborak
whenever i hear his sound, it reminds me of velvet... at least to me, he has this velvety texture in his sound that i don't hear in other horn players. very distinctive

Baborak is not a stupid human...
One of the things I especially like about Radek's playing is his full, sweet tone. Never pinched at any note in the complete register, he stands out from other hornists because he is, in my opinion, the best horn player in the world, present or past.
well, watch the Radovan recording of this piece, maybe you'll change your mind
Radovan is fantastic, but Baborak is the goat.

@sasawhare Yeah, it sounds almost like the horns were brought up in the mix on this recording.
They're not brought up in the mix, just in front of the main pair. That's why you hear Radek more than the others because he's the closest.
Donald Spaulding hes also playing on a solo horn and olaying louder
