I once knew a veteran of the Russian front living in Spain in the 1980s, I told him about 'Allo 'Allo and he managed to catch it on TV somewhere. He almost died laughing at Gruber.
Yup lol. I know comedy is subjective but I usually have a hard time underatanding people who don't find this show funny. It's just so simple and basic that I feel like anyone can get a laugh out of it.
Ironic that they're trusting him with the car and he's baked as shit when they're giving him the keys.

Sam Kelly (the actor who plays Hans) explained in an interview that what Hans is saying is "Hitler!" really fast as he doesn't actually support him! He's only a German officer as a survival tactic and in his last episode when they escape the POW camp, Hans went into hiding and waited out the war, I think it was so Sam Kelly could work on another project, but it made me respect the character a little more, considering how useless he seemed as a German officer!
