Yes the weeds a big problem over time even with the barrier, what do you suggest just no rock?

If one really needs no weeds, at least for awhile I believe there are pre-emergents and weeb preventors. Try shredded cedar or some othersimilarr product. Mayne a couple layers of cardboard and mulch? Weeds are pretty easy to deal with as mulch degrades and makes beautiful, healthy and fertile soil underneath. Had rocks and pea gravel- been there and not doing it again.

Do you suggest just putting natural grass? Here in Vegas you’ll spend a fortune on your water bill trying to keep it alive, so we try not to do it. Although it would be cheaper than turf!

@@thevladplot soften the hard edges/angles, use mulch not rock, add perennial low maintenance plants, keep some grass even if just a small 10x20 area. Bluestone paths for your hardscape. Solar landscape lights if not actual low voltage 12v lights. Privacy hedges around the edge of the yard. Next time you flip don’t scrape the yard and start over, give it the attention it needs and enhance its appeal.
