Not true. If we go by scientific definition then Europe is the westernmost part of the Eurasia. It's not a continent.

@@User-xw5mk So why do they teach that to everyone in every school? Europe is a continent that covers the western part of Eurasia, but it is nonetheless defined as a continent in and of itself, as well! It covers an area of 10 530 000 km² And has a population of 746,4 million people (2018).

@@user-B_8 They don't teach that at every school. In Scandinavia, Russia, Japan and most other parts it is taught that there are 6 continents: Eurasia, Africa, North America, South America and Antarctica and Oceania. Area and population has got nothing to do with continents, otherwise India would also be considered a continent of it's own. The concept of Europe being a continent is outdated, the same way the concept of Pluto being a planet is outdated.

@@User-xw5mk Well, when I went to school...in Europe, we were certainly taught that it is a continent. And if you Google it, it will still to this present day and moment come up in the search bar as being defined as a continent. So how outdated is it then likely to be? Most europeans, myself included, will refer to Europe as the continent we're from. What we never ever say though, is that we're from Eurasia. And I can honestly say after having lived for more than half a century and travelled to several other countries in Europe, that I have not once encountered any other fellow european people or countrymen of mine, that ever refer to themselves as being from Eurasia, ever. Not even once! We all refer to ourselves as being europeans from the continent Europe, not Eurasia!

@@User-xw5mk For the record, I'm Scandinavian and what you're claiming about us learning that there are 6 continents where Eurasia according to you is supposedly one of them, is utter flipping nonsense. We learn that there are 7 continents, where Europe is one of them and Eurasia is not even on the list! So where did you come up with this BS?
