Soroche (altitude sickness):" three days in Cusco. Two isn't enough for some people. Mosquitos - there are invisible mosqui's that go for your ankles and calves. Do not wear shorts in the high Andes, do wear long socks, and carry tubes of anti-inflammatory cream. You wake up in the middle of the night maybe two nights after with your skin on fire and the irresistible urge to scratch yourself bloody. Also, Aiice, you can get a cheap, military-grade poncho at various shops close to the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. They won't fall apart.

Sonam comes origin from Karikhola in Solukhumbu, not Mustang. Great guy, good buddy. We walked with him for the first time in 2011 to Mustang, later he managed EBC, Manaslu circuit, Tsum valley and Kangchendzönga BC for us. Last time we met him was 3 weeks ago. A good friend! :-)

It's not the AC if you not walk it. The road is just an excuse, the most beautiful parts are still there. Muktinath - Kagbeni, Marpha - Kalopani etc.

Great video! I climbed Macheme route in 2015. The route is only busy during the high season. I went in November which is the lowseason. There were only 16 hikers. I was the 13th and last hiker to summit. What the video doesn't state is the Lemosho route combines with the Macheme route on that 3rd day.

Clothing: Comfortable, moisture-wicking clothing for hiking, including layers for changing weather. 6. Hiking Shoes: Sturdy, broken-in hiking shoes or boots with good traction. 7. Personal Items: Toiletries, medications, and personal hygiene products. 8. Headlamp or Flashlight: Essential for navigating camp at night and early morning hikes. 9. Snacks: Energy bars, nuts, and dried fruit to keep you fueled between meals. 10. Camera: Capture unforgettable moments along the trail. 11. I’m from a seaside town in England where we are level to the sea, so when I did the trek last September, I did suffer pretty bad with the altitude 😂 thank goodness for coco leaves

That's exactly what our guide Samir told us about food, "Daal chawal power, 24 hour" funny how it is the same. We did the Goeche La trek in April, 2022.
