As previously commented the new gate keeper is because forestry was having to recover cars and because people were illegally harvesting firewood out there. Now I think I'm going to run it backwards though.

Cadillac Hill definitely deserves its reputation. The camera doesn't do justice to how steep it is.

The Rubicon is literally our back door. My brother owns a beautiful place on Wentworth springs road and we spend lots of time up there year round. There are so many other great trails I'd love to share with you. Snow wheeling is also one of our passions during the winter, come join us! Bye the way, my original rack broke the spindle mount and fell off just like yours. I know how to prevent that now!

I was there in September of 2023; it took me five washes to wash the red Utah mud off the undercarriage of my 2020 JGC Trailhawk! I’m certain there’s still some left in there! 😅 Great video, fantastic views, great experience!

Your probably know by now but the trail wasn't closed. You were supposed to go over the gate keeper. They close that gate to keep out cars that can't get over the rocks. Sick video either way. I want to try it backwards now.

I hope the treatment was successful. We couldn't get an ERG (prerequisite to appt. w/Dr. G.) in the D.C. area during covid (11/2020) so drove to Columbus, OH, got the ERG which confirmed SARDS, but Dr. Tereah Webb immediately started prednisone tablets at dose to suppress immune system. A week later we were in Iowa, and Dr. G. said vision was already starting to return. I understand that the intra-ocular injections can take 3-4 months to work, but apparently it works in some cases where the pred tablets aren't enough. Wish the cure rate was closer to 100%, but anything is better than the 0% a couple dozen ACVO vets gave to me.

Gold Mountain is always fun. I’ve never ran it from the back trail in. By the looks of it the way you came in was a lot easier the going back out. That gate and rock garden were put in a few years ago to keep out all the rift rafts. They were making illegal bypasses to get through the trail. The rock garden at the beginning is the new gate keeper as opposed to the old first waterfall. I think it was more challenging before they cemented the rocks in. It’s really not that bad and looks harder than it is. Your rig could have done it no problem. Keep the videos coming. I’m sure I’ll bump into you one if these days on the trail.

Locked gates suck. Try joining a club that works with the forest service and maintains trails to help prevent trail damage and further closures.
